      Wayne: I think that was more a slip of the tongue than anything else. You really "re-bind" a receiver to a new transmitter or model location in the transmitter. But binding to a new model, you essentially "debind" from the older one.

      Robbo: Thanks for checking in! Just do a Google search for Spektrum DX6 compatible receivers. Below is what I got for the DX6i. Horizon Hobby has a great tech support chat line, best to ask them on specific receivers as there are so may out there. As I really do not like to crash, I recommend spending the bucks for a quality Spektrum receiver for a Spektrum transmitter. As the same brand they bind a lot easier. Just be careful of older receivers you might find on eBay. Tim
      The DSMX DX6i is compatible with all current Spektrum DSM2 and DSMX aircraft receivers. The DSMX branded DX6i transmitter is not compatible with the Spektrum AR6000/BR6000 receiver. Always purchase products from a Horizon Hobby, Inc. authorized dealer to ensure authentic high-quality Spektrum product.

    How?
    Do you set fail safe on a dx6.... I can't find it on manuals, lib.Or in the Transmitter index list.
    Fail safe seems to be automatic when you do the binding , but it only shuts the throttle off.... It doesn't put surface areas to position that you want.like Every
    Thing neutral apart from a little bit of elevator.

    Can this AR620 be binded to the Spektrum DX6i transmitter?
    I believe in theory it can by pushing the bind button on the receiver and then holding the trainer toggle in the forward position while turning on the DX6i?
    The DX6i does not have a bind button.
    I ask because I have been out of the game awhile and have a DX6i and will be using a AR620 DSM2 in my new FMS Pitts 1400mm.
    I just want to make sure the bind will be ok or possible?
    Or do I need to buy a new transmitter? 🤦‍♂️😬
    My P47D and Radian are bound to my DX6i and would like to avoid the additional cost as I don’t fly a ton.

    Can't seem to get my AR620 to bind to my DX8...which way up do the servo wires go into the receiver...black lead up or black lead down or doesn't it matter? In this video is the yellow lead up, red or brown centre and black on the bottom?

    • @TimMcKay56
      @TimMcKay56  4 роки тому

      Richard: First, ensure you have your new model selected on the transmitter. Then, turn the transmitter off. Next, power up the receiver and get the receiver into the "Bind" mode (flashing light). You'll have to check the Rx instructions or do a Google search, but you have to have the flashing light. Note the AR620 has the super handy large bind button. Others have a bind plug, etc.
      With the receiver light flashing, turn on the transmitter IN THE BIND MODE. Most have either a button, or an instruction to hold some switch in a certain position. With the Tx in bind mode, it will look for a receiver to bind with. Once transmitter light is steady, it should be binded. If you the receiver is several years old, it may not bind well with the newer transmitters.
      For the wire direction, look VERY carefully at the receiver. Somewhere, in tiny letters, it will have something like G, P and S (ground, power and signal). Black is the ground, usually at the "botton" of the receiver. If you connect his backwards, no harm, but nothing will work. Tim

      GR: Try this. Power down everything (transmitter and flight pack). Plug in flight battery, press bind button on the AR620 Rx, and get it into the bind mode (flashing light). Before you turn on the DX6 in the bind mode (bind button held down while turning on the transmitter), be sure to keep the transmitter at least five (5) feet away from the receiver, with the antenna pointed away from the airplane. If you try and bind with the transmitter right close to the model, it quite ofter does not bind. Tim

    • @TimMcKay56
      @TimMcKay56  4 роки тому

      Gary: When you say "nitro plane" I have to assume this is a gas or glow fuel powered model, i.e. a motor with a throttle. If this is the case, you'll need an airborne battery pack to power the receiver and servos. The airborne battery pack plugs into the "BATT" plug on the receiver (note that the ESC plugs onto the throttle input to the receiver, it has no function for a fuel powered model).
      The airborne battery pack was always a four cell nicad battery that came with all radio sets. These days, with the vast majority of models being electric powered, the large lipo flight battery, through the magic of the Electronic Speed Control, provide electrical power to the motor, throttle to the motor, and electric power to the servos. Horizon Hobby chat line can provide info on the airborne battery packs. Tim

    Hi can I ask you a question please?
    It was about using different airplane models with this spektrum radio.
    When you want to use a different aircraft should you already have a receiver in all your models then bind it to that.
    Or do you use one receiver and just put the receiver in the plane you are going to use?
    Thank you for the video.

    • @TimMcKay56
      @TimMcKay56  3 роки тому

      DM: That is actually a good question. All transmitters these days have computer memory. My DX6 can store up the 250 different models, which is great. While you could move a receiver from airplane to airplane, this is not a good idea as you would have to constantly plug and unplug the servo connectors which could lead to a failure. Also, whatever trim settings you had in Model 1 would need to be changed to Model 2, etc. As receivers are so cheap these days (as well as servos), my AR620 is around $40, just buy and install a receiver in each plane. Once done flying the plane, then take the receiver and put in a new plane. I have around 10 RC models, all with their own receiver, and just the one DX6 transmitter. Tim

      Sometimes I try it but it doesn't go as planned maybe my fault too.
      I really didn't know if other radios would work with my eflite like a futaba or airtronics makes sense what you said if its from the same brand might just work easier or better.

      Thank you very much this radio will be good for my other models too..
      My biggest thing was trying to set everything up and now knowing what electronics and motors would work
      I never bought a rtf either I always liked models that you had to set up.

    • @TimMcKay56
      @TimMcKay56  2 роки тому

      MrPM: By all means, switch to 2.4 GHz. There is literally not a single reason not to do so. Most transmitters can store multiple models. My four year old Sprektrum DX6 can store 250 models. A receiver has to be binded to just one transmitter model, this is the whole idea behind 2.4 GHz, the freedom from being jammed by someone else "on your frequency." This cannot happen as the transmitter can recognize just a single receiver. Good luck! Tim

      Sideways: It can always be a bit tricky/confounding with ensuring consistent compatibility with all transmitters and receivers, especially if the transmitter is a bit older. The AR620 should be just fine and up to date. Not fully sure of the DX5. At any rate, it seems like the two do bind, just that you have to bind for each operation. The only thing I can think of is to ensure that the receivers always "sees" it's binded transmitter when powered up. In other words, to power up, transmitter on then receiver. When flight is complete, receiver off then transmitter. I know that with the ParkZone micro brick, if you power that up with no transmitter signal present, the receiver will automatically go into bind mode after 5 seconds. And if all else fails, just purchase a new (Spektrum) transmitter. Tim

      @@TimMcKay56 I did try that to no avail. Didn't take age into consideration and I'm pretty sure your right about that. I got my dx5 when I was around 12 or so and I'm old enough to drink now haha. Thank you for the quick reply, have a good rest of your day sir and Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays 🤘

    Hi Tom, I purchased the NX6 and I am very satisfied. Tried to use G44 Widgeon binding with AR620. After starting the model, it drove backwards. I canceled this binding, turned off the transmitter and after 3 minutes I repeated the same operations, after which the receiver worked properly. What was the reason for the first binding and what is the order in which the servos, ailerons, speed regulator are connected to the receiver?
    Will the receiver sort it out, no matter how I connect it?

      Withold: Hard to say. But I think you did the right approach. With electronics, if something is acting up/not acting right, turn it off, let it rest a bit, then retry. Tim
