- Sebastian Aho and Nino Niederreiter recorded two goals a piece and rookie goalie Pyotr Kochetkov made 28 saves to pick up the win in his first career playoff game as the Carolina Hurricanes defeated the Boston Bruins 5-2 in a gritty affair.

Look at how F1 has blown up on UA-cam since the pandemic, but nah. The NHL and MLB would rather have their leagues be bottom feeders

Marchand was so afraid of Pyotr Kochetkov he swung his stick at him after the whistle, after checking the Canes goaltender from behind in true Weasel Marchand fashion.
I noticed the Commie goalie backed off when Marchand wacked him even though he has more equipment and a much bigger stick. Who's the chicken?

Carolina doesn’t have a backup as Pyotr the Bear was the backup. He gets in a serious fight, he might get injured or be forced to go off the ice for fighting. Not worth it, especially since the Canes already had the game locked.

Secondly, Kochetkov is 6'3" 205 Bear Marchand is 5'9 180 little weasel. Pyotr didn't skate away out of fear lmao, the linemen were already rushing in off camera, he's smart enough not to go get a 5 minute fighting penalty for his team without a goaltender besides him (Thanks to Boston cheap shots earlier in the game on Raanta that SPORTSNET conveniently leaves out) in order to prove he can crunch a pipsqueak.
You BoOston fans should just take your NyQuil Naps, and pretend its a bad dream. Not show that your fanbase are as big of arseholes as your team!

Gotta love Jordan Stall he's a beast. It's cool that Carolina has a sports team (other than the great college hoops teams) that they can really get excited about. That is one talented team.

So many underestimated the canes coming in, truly a great young team in the nhl today.
I really don't understand why. Canes owned the Bruins in the season series and I know that means nothing come playoff time but in general I think the Canes are an all around better team
@@kakarotblake it’s because the canes have choked in the playoffs aside from the original run to the conference finals. Also, didn’t have their number 1 goalie.
@@dps0610 not really choking in the playoffs considering they lost to both Eastern Conference champs 2 out of the 3 times with Boston and Tampa. I will say they did choke games in those series that flipped how it turned out but they gained a lot of experience in all of the 3 last playoff runs.
@@dps0610 this is just not true, in 2019 no one expected that run and they lost to a better bruins team. In 2020 after beating the rangers they lost to the bruins who won the presidents trophy. In 2021 they lost to my lightning who went on to repeat as champions. Where is the choke here?

Bruins hockey in the playoffs is so dirty. The stick work that goes uncalled is amazing.
Every year they get away with it too. It's been that way for a decade, because they're a "big, hard team".
At least Carolina is giving them a taste of their own medicine so far. These have been 2 really hard hitting games everyone elses games look clean by comparison. The Svech hit was a glorious one and the Bs penalized themselves into oblivion.

Was at this game tonight. Canes didn't have to do anything to the Bruins that they weren't already doing to themselves. Bs absolutely imploded and it wasn't the refs. They had no self control. Svechs hit was textbook clean. I don't appreciate the fans who were chanting the Bruins suck. We should rise above that stuff because at the end of the day it's just a hockey game. I do hope Lindholm is OK. I never want to see players get hurt and refuse to applaud injuries. I expect the Bruins will come out hard and more disciplined in Game 3 at home. If they can't keep it together they are gonna have a huge uphill battle. Go Canes
Hockey is a bush league. Those hits are legal but there is no doubt they are intent to injure on a vulnerable player. Football took that out but hockey is 20 years behind. Yes I’m a bruins fan and yes I do not like it when McAvoy does it two three times a game.

It's quite lame to try hide facts like Pasternak played dirty and ran over Raanta. Dirty play from him and got away from it way too easy in penalties and now also in the highlights.
That seems like a big point in the game they decided not to show us had to go looking elsewhere for the clip.

I knew we were getting swept before this series. I don't understand why so many people thought we had any chance against a team that out scored us 16-1 in 3 games this Bruins team is an embarrassment and really is only in the playoffs because half the east sucked.

These highlights don't really do this game justice. It left out all of the fighting and it honestly makes the Bruins look like they played way better than they actually did.

Historically it’s a matchup that’s gone in Boston’s favor. However, this year it looks like all that means is that the Canes are even more determined to beat them.

Even after the refs acted like the refs the whole way through the Canes still handled business and threw their weight around. There is no way game 3 isn’t gonna be an absolute bloodbath.
I could argue the other way. Boston tried to get under Carolina's skin and the Canes' aren''t taking the bait. They've lost to the Bruins in the past simply because Boston got in their heads. Remember when Marchand made that "C" gesture to Justin Williams? (who was the captain at the time) I'm sure J. Williams spoke to the boys about composure and discipline before this series started. @@MrBaller8485 The refs had nothing to do with it. Bruins imploded and resorted to dirty play because they couldn't stay disciplined. Carolina only responded when necessary. Bruins beat themselves this game.
Only thing keeping it from that is the fact that the Canes have one person that fights decently. And Cole isn’t that great. If it gets ugly, Boston will actually get back into the series because of it.
