- Phillip Danault scored the go-ahead goal and added an assist as the Los Angeles Kings beat the Edmonton Oilers 4-3 to steal a road win and go up 1-0 in Game 1 of their first-round series.

Yeah, his gigantic contract is looking pretty good now. He has scored in seven out of eight games. Rather impressive.
I liked him on the Habs and Toffoli very good that year. Look for Toffoli to have an impact this playoff

Kings play an honest 2 way game. Edmonton has some amazing top end talent.
I was impressed with McDavid. All night long he would just take on 4 or 5 Kings all by himself. The guy is a stud.
LA impressed me even more. They play a full team game. They can't kill penalties worth a damn, but they can outwork you 5 on 5. That makes up for the discrepancies in talent between the 2 teams.
This series is gonna be amazing

Nonr of them were any good but I woukd choose Jussi or Ty any day. That Carolina/Oilers finals was lost to the oilers because of ty Conklin "beauty pass" behind the net to the wrong player ...I'll never forget that nightmare, lol.

My favorite play is when Mike Smith passes to a King in front of the net and then dives to make the save. 🤣😆🤣

It’s simple the kings style of hockey since 2010 is playoff style hockey they have guys who are all heart and there defense at center position might win this series there so deep there
Not quite as deep nor the same players but definitely. An organization having an identity is real and la is still playing that way. Quick is playing like 2012-2014 quick. Im still made the sabres took ryan Johnson over Arthur kaileyv. His upside even then was there and the kings will be good again for the next 10 years if they stick with their plan. RB will be in the sakic convo soon among gms.

Smith let in some soft looking goals esp the 3rd one. But this was always going to be the case with EDM. Their goalkeepers can kill the momentum of a game and give a whole new meaning to the word sieves.

I'm a Canadian living in Alberta and cheering for Canadian teams. But when a goalie decides that passing the puck to the opposing team in front of the net, with 5 minutes left in the third period and tied 3-3, I kind of wonder why. It's not that this goalie has never done this before and cost a game. Seriously Mr. Smith, STOP pretending you're a forward and do your job.

Danault leaving Montreal was step 1 in a series of unfortunate events that caused the embarrassing season we just witnessed. Knew from day 1 it was a mistake to 'let' him go. Glad to see he's thriving!

Danault was a beast. He shuts down the best. The McD and Dreis penalties were super soft and I thought the Kings were about to be shafted. That was a really good game to watch. Edmonton was unexpectedly rough and tough. Love it.

If I were an Oilers fan I'd be irate at the 3rd and 4th goals - you let in a no-traffic wrister from a 4th liner who wouldn't have been in the lineup if Arvidsson was healthy, then give up that whale of a goal to Danault/Durzi. And now you've given all the momentum in the series to a bunch of 12-year-olds who just beat you in front of your own crowd. This is going to be a great series.

Was listening to NHL channel on sirius radio and the announcers were commenting on how good the refs did by calling penalties as they would during the regular season and then the broadcaster said, "it was all good except I felt Draisaitl went down a bit too easy on a couple of those plays"-I texted my cousin last night during the game screaming at how obvious he embellished 2 of those penalties...He's a freakin TWINKIE......
