The Guitarist Daron wrote a poem about the Armenian Genocide that was titled "Victims of a Down". They drew inspiration from that to name the band System of a Down

His voice sounds so operatic because he actually does work with orchestras he's a huge fan of classical and opera. Soad hasn't released an album since 2005 but Serj has been working through his own solo career and a lot of his music is very classical he works with orchestras he's so talented what a king love him
I feel they haven't done new albums cause Serj isn't the biggest hard rock fan when compared to his passion for classical and opera.

Soad broke cause of serj and daron had different opinions about the band music daron used to say that his style was more like slayer and stuff and that serj wasnt into that and he was more like opera and classical he actually said that they didnt even have the same passion for the music they made
he has been likened to Freddie Mercury for range.... be open minded and you can understand that comparison!
Serj has amazing range, and fucking uses it.
Serj is just such a good singer. The texture of his voice, his effortless switches between his growl and his clean tones, the way he uses it in the context of the instrumental as an instrument
Question - System of a Down. There most underrated song in my opinion.
I wouldn't call it underrated. I remember when I was a kid and it released it was a huge hit and how alot of people got into the band. Lol. But it is true that it's not recommended enough.

Serj has an opera singing background, if I'm not mistaken. So his style is DEFINITELY operatic.

Serj has some more operatic sounding stuff on his solo albums. Empty Walls is a good song by him. As far as SOAD songs. I'd suggest Peephole, Jet Pilot and Prison Song
They were originally called "Soil" and a lot of these band members have softer sides to them (nature, art, etc) but rebranded to "System Of A Down" to voice a lot of outrage they felt as they began suffering at the hands of new government policies.
..originally " Victims of a Down",,, but changed to system to be closer to SLAYER
I absolutely love how y’all really read into the lyrics, SoaD are so REAL. Great reactions! I gotta recommend my new fav album The Bastards by Palaye Royale (dropped about a month ago). My favs are Masochist, Doom, Little Bastards, Massacre the new American dream and Anxiety. An amazing punk rock album.
Serj tankian is the hands down most amazing vocalist ever. There will never be another serj . There is not one single song that can compare to SOAD unless you bring tool into the mix , but hands down serj and Darren are the best harmonic duo to ever exist
i´m a Metalhead for 30 years now, always having an ear open for other musical styles, so i know almost every song you guys react to. And after watching a couple of your videos, i realized how much i enjoy watching you two react and talk about the music. To hear my favourite Music through "virgin" ears and literally rediscover it is amazing! Keep it up guys and here, have my sub! :D

LOL I've never seen that footage of Serj messing around with a toy keyboard at the beginning of this video! That just made my day! Keep doing what you guys do so well! This is truly amazing and entertaining content for fans of all types of music! Just curious @ Trash Talkers, seeing as how you are both rappers, do you currently have any reactions to the rap genre and if so, who? Sometimes reaction channels teach me about new talent that I otherwise would have probably gone under my radar. I'm a big fan of early 80s to early 2000 rap, but with that being said, around a year ago I discovered Joyner Lucas from a wonderful channel called BigDaddyShaq and Joyner blew my mind and then opened it way up! I love Joyner now as much as I do Saul WIlliams. Both amazing underground artists that, in my humble opinion should be better known for their huge contributions to this genre and fantastic, experimental work!!!! Stay safe out there guys and keep being you!!! You guys are beautiful!!!

What a way to introduce yourself to the public. I heard this song for the first time in 2006 and remember exactly where I was and even what clothes I was wearing. It was the greatest thing I'd ever heard.

I'll get around to it someday. tbh I didn't even like the Toxicity album much. Some of it I didn't care for.
I personally love their first album and toxicity, every song. There’s a bunch of their later songs I like, but I am completely in love with SOAD from 1998-2002.
I have all the albums from them and I can tell you that "Steal This Album" is the best one.
So I'm listening to Steal This Album. and I E A I A I O got my attention when I heard him mention Dale Jr... with all the NASCAR games I play on my channel. lmao

2020 has seen some really shit moments. Watching 2 genre lovers watch each others favourites has been a highlight to witness as a fan of both. Watching hip hop heads appreciate rock, watching rock lovers appreciate hip hop, when they’ve never given them a chance in the past in some cases... amazing
Another throwback for me. Love how songs can send you back to a set time and place in your life. All I can see when I hear this is my freshman history class singing and drumming the desks with my friends eating sour watermelons and head banging.

Metallica was formed in Los Angeles in 1981 but moved to San Francisco where they were based for most of their career.
Think they moved from LA before Kill em All came out, and that album came out in 83.

Hey Guys! Love your reactions! I watched reactions of many other UA-camrs and I often have the feeling that the reactions are "played". Not so you guys. In your Videos everything looks really honest and I love that. Love the smile of Smokey when he really enjoys the music and Hollywood when he is surprised or amazed. I really like how open you are to other Genres of Music as Rappers. I can see you really enjoy music no matter which genre.
