Seriously. Here's what annoys the crap out of me. The "alternative" station in my area plays crap like Green day, and the Offspring, like they just came out last week, but never play this and other great songs.
@@jackieacheson4928 its a good thing. Would you rather have it be washed out like those horrible green day tracks that get played 20 times a day? Id rather keep it as the hidden gem it is
This song reminds me of how I feel about my husband. It took me 48 years and 2 divorces to get it right. Life is good when you are with someone who takes care of you AND your heart...no more tears!
It took me 40 years and 1 divorce to find my satellite. We’re still happily married 10 years later and now have a 4 year old daughter. I’m 50 and he’s 42! 🥰
"Maybe you will always be just a little out of reach" Thats my favorite line in this song. Because it fits perfectly and is something we can all relate to.
Anyone want to take a crack at the interpretation of the video? When I hear this song and watch this video, I think of the intense loneliness we can feel as a species, even when we're around people. Nature and life don't have to co-exist, but we do. And as Wordsworth puts it, "[nature's] immensity disturbs us with joy"; it makes us feel incredibly small yet mysteriously connected to something greater than ourselves. Although the boy and girl are alone, I think they also find some joy in their melancholy, pensive thought and introspection--a process which, somehow and someway, connects them to the greater universe.
This masterpiece has so much heart and vulnerability, which is so rare today. Guster is like the first post-nuclear flower. God bless all of them with success and good fortune. They make me believe in God again. Thank you Guster!
Shining like a work of art, Hanging on a wall of stars, Are you what I think you are? Youʻre my satellite, Youʻre riding with me tonight, Passenger side, lighting the sky, Always the first star that I find, Youʻre my satellite... Elevator to the moon, Whistling our favorite tune, Trying to get a closer view... Youʻre my satellite, Youʻre riding with me tonight, Passenger side, lighting the sky, Always the first star that I find, Youʻre my satellite... Maybe you will always be, Just a little out of reach... Youʻre my satellite, Youʻre riding with me tonight, Passenger side, lighting the sky, Always the first star that I find, Youʻre my satellite Youʻre my satellite...
Great song!!! The music kinda reminds me of fleetwood just a little, not the progressions or melodies in the song but the tonality of it brings me back to the early 80's, especially drum tone. This track has so much vibe to it, simply amazing sound and structure!
Makes me think of my college days and how every night out held the promise of finally finding “the one”………..!!!!!!! So many near misses, but I love each and every one of you for what you brought to my life - even if just for an evening gazing into your pretty eyes……….🤩 My son goes off on his journey starting next fall - Inhope he enjoys every moment of this special time in life……….❤
i fell in love with this song when it was on the "Muzack" score when i was worked at Macy's...was the highlight of every shift when this would come up int the rotation...it's just so beautiful and haunting
Been looking for this song for so many years, I totally forgot this song because they rarely play it on the radio. I'm so glad it just randomly popped up in my UA-cam recommendations because 2018 has been a hard year to deal with.
Wow this comment did not age well. Guster changed everything i thought about music, and i stopped listening to them for a while and more recently started listening to them again, along with Dispatch and forgot how much both those bands meant to me in middle and high school when I was really coming into myself. Now as a 34 year old I can look back and see the true genius I saw but was unable to recognize. Old songs will always take on new meanings as the world and our selves evolve. one love
This is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard, and the video is an absolutely exquisite, haunting work of art. At the very least, Guster should be opening for Coldplay. With permission, I'd give everyone connected with this song and video design a great big hug and a kiss.
Seeing them live was so wonderful. They sound even better live and when this song came...everyone knew the lyrics and it was so magical! Guster and their magic~
I used to hear this song working at Walmart. Never knew the name or artist of the song until I looked up Walmart's song playlist. I'm glad to finally find it so I can download it now. :)

Wait, what the hell? I was about to say I was here because of Drew, but then I recognized the song. I literally have this liked on my Pandora station and have for months now lol. I guess that's what happens when you have ~700 likes/influences on a single station.
I recall first hearing this song in March of 2007 upon my return from abroad. I was visiting some friends and in a strange state of mind when this song came on my friend's iTunes. It really struck a chord with me then, and that was only taken to another level after watching this video. It bemuses me that this song came out over five years ago, yet both the song and video remain timeless.
That is amazing! I would be so delighted to see them playing for free and so cool (or cold) in the SNOW! How neat. They are a great alternative band ... small, but the kind of band I love. Thanks for sharing :) t
