I have a very specific memory attached to this music video. I was sitting on my living room watching MTV for hours and hadn’t even noticed that my grandma was sitting on the couch behind me watching it all the same. I still remember the orange sunlight beaming through the windows, the cold floor, and the smell of dinner throughout the house. I was at such peace in the comfort of her presence and our home. Sometimes I wish I could recreate that memory, but I cherish it and think back to it in hard times, and that’s recreation enough for me to get by.

This was my brothers favorite song. He was 35 when he passed on June 8th, 2023, at 8:45 PM.
I’ll always love and miss you big brother. Thank you for taking care of me and loving me, and helping me become the man I am today. I miss you dearly. It hurts. It’ll always hurt. It’s not my first lost but definitely one of the more potent ones.
I swear I never meant for this, I never meant.
Don’t look at me that way,
    It was an honest mistake.
Don’t look at me that way.
    It was an honest mistake,
    An honest mistake.
I’ll never forgive myself for not quelling our squabbles, before you died. You kept asking to spend more time together because you thought you were sick.
I kept denying it and pushing it off, and now it’s too late.
I love you and I’m so sorry for basically abandoning you in your last weeks. I’m sorry.
