Yeah I actually use one in my own gaming PC paired with a 3070 Ti and it works great. Such a great processor and has great value even being a few years old now.
G'day UBPC, I have the Sapphire NITRO RX 460 OC 4 GB (1250MHz), it is the only RX4** that I bought as besides the cool light up Nitro Logo in the PCB it has a different SU/TMU/ROP/CU count as RX560 unlike RX570/580/590 which I can Downclock with Afterburner for 470/480. The rest in my Arctic Islands/Polaris set are Sapphire Pulse RX550 4GB (1206MHz), MSI RX 560 AERO ITX OC 4 GB (1320MHz), Sapphire NITRO+ RX 570 4GB (1340MHz), MSI RX 580 GAMING+ 8GB (1421MHz). Plus I now also have my niece's old ASUS ROG STRIX RX 570 GAMING OC (1300MHz) with custom white shroud that I painted for her as I upgraded her PC from the 570 + i7-2600 to a i3-10100F + GIGABYTE GTX 1660 Ti OC & I painted the shroud on that one for her too.
@@godspeedfilthypeasantblack1968 I have more nVIDIA GPUS than AMD like... I have every GTX60/60Ti from 260-1660Ti some of which are part of my Gigabyte SOC Collection 260, 275, 460, 470, 560, 560Ti, 560Ti-950, 570, 580, 680 Windforce5 & HD5770, I also have some other OC models like Gigabyte 780Ti GHz Edition, Galax 970HOF. All my GPUs work & I like to give them all a run every now & then.
Hey man, what would you recommend to me buying? a RX 460 OR A RX 560 they're both 2gb of ram btw, its just that i see that a rx 460 has more fps but idk
Between those two, it really comes down to whatever one is cheaper. In terms of performance, they are very similar on average. The RX 560 has some slightly newer hardware but it really doesn't amount to much in terms of effecting the actual output at least from what I've seen.
I generally haven't benchmarked those particular games as they aren't very intensive, especially on GPU but I might start throwing them into this tier of Graphics card. I would imagine the RX 460 would do great with either of these when paired with an appropriate CPU at 1080p.
Missed the opportunity to test valorant here, but this is actually close to the system I will try to get while using my current Rx 460 Sapphire 4GB variant as a buffer gpu
Locked 30 fps smoothes out the frame timemings by a lot for cards like these if 60 fps falls well short, still allows a much better shot for gaming with a gpu like this one
I just build my 61 y/o mother a custom computer utilizing a ryzen 1400 and rx460 2gb 16gb 2400mhz ram for roughly $180. She has a old gateway w/ a pentium that is pretty worthless in 2023. She likes playing sim style games so I figured this would be perfect for her and a huge upgrade from her dinosaur computer she has now. Putting it all on a asrock B450m mobo enables me to keep this computer alive for years w/ an upgrade path.
I understand that perspective completely. But to me, if you're already going for a lower end card on the used market, you might as well not over invest in the hardware by getting a higher end version. Like I said in the video, this card really only makes sense if you get one for around $35 (which is usually the HP OEM variant) . Otherwise, it would make more sense to just spend the extra $15 on something like an RX 570 or better yet, 580 if it's price is low enough. Obviously, everyone is entitled to their own opinions and perspective regarding how they spend their money. But to me, when you're accepting the tradeoffs that come with using super budget hardware, every $1 you can save counts.
Lmao. I saw that when I was creating that overlay and forgot to fix it haha. I guess it'll just be an Easter egg for analytical viewers like yourself to find😅
Does it overclockable? I boost my R7 240 2g ddr5 at AMD software easily. At least core clock, meanwhile changing memory speed crashes system. Still help a lot, bonus FPS hepls achive to comfortable 30-60 in some games.
The RX 460 is overclockable though my HP version already sits pretty high in terms of temps and the few times I've overclocked, the temps got into the upper 80°C range. I'm sure the non OEM versions with more robust heatsinks would perform better thermally.
And personally, I feel like seeing what you can do on a budget is more interesting and entertaining than getting high refresh rate in games at 4k with a 4090 something lol.
If you want more ideas of lowend hardware people are using you could look at the Steam hardware survey and maybe buy some of the cheap gpu's and cpu's a lot of Steam users are using. If you don't have a lot of money or don't have money to buy these lowend gpu's and cpu's I totally understand. I just would find it interesting to see you test these lowend gpu's and cpu's.
That's a great idea! I will definitely take that into account going forward. The budget stuff on the hardware survey would be more applicable to what most viewers have.
@@UltraBudgetPC I use an i9 10900KF, RX 7900 XT, 64 DDR4-3200mhz ram, Samsung 970 Evo Plus 2TB on a MSI Z490 A-Pro motherboard but I still love watching videos on low-end hardware to see how far we've come in performance.
Been keeping an eye on your channel and you're doing a great job. Keep it up!
Love the PC test bench upgrade. The R5 5600x is still a great CPU even if it is a last gen CPU. I love mine, congrats. Another great video btw!

Love the video. This card would be a very good card also for emulation!
Definitely!
This channel is a hidden gem..keep up the good work 👍👍
Nice channel and your name is clear with the purpose.
One question, does that GPU fit a Dell SFF? Just for curiosity.
It's more of an ITX size so the card is short but it's not low profile so it would fit great in a mini tower Dell Optiplex but not a SFF
@@UltraBudgetPC many thanks!

That's an awesome use case for a build like that. The RX 460 is perfect for simulation games and shouldn be for a while longer.
I don't really recommend OEM cards though just because they're built very cheap (more than usual)

do you have any info on the claims that you can reflash this card into an rx 560?
