I’m a 44 year old man and in my second semester of prerequisites with 2 semesters to go before I apply to nursing school. I think I’m on my tenth straight video of yours for the night. Great to see a mature male nurse dropping gems for us out here.
it's difficult, mainly because you/we changed and they're still the same. they have to adjust to your growth/change and that's probably harder for them than you! we're basking in our evolution/growth. they just see change from what they're used to.
just graduated from nursing school. Can you make a video about how your studied for the NCLEX? I am working full time now in a non health care field and trying to come up with a game plan to study. thank you.
Good video as always, Old Dad Nurse! Wanted to follow up from some previous comments, but I received the letter stating that I was not accepted into the program this go-around. A little discouraging, but is what it is. It must be a heavily competitive program because I applied with a 4.0 GPA lol. Oh well. Just have to get back on the horse and keep grinding. I did email the program director and asked if they might be able to disclose by how many points I was off by. When they email back, I'm going to talk to my advisor about what to do next so that hopefully I can be accepted for the spring semester. Peace and blessings from Oklahoma!
sorry to hear that. keep going as you said, don't get discouraged. even apply elsewhere if you so want but i get it that certain programs are so coveted. and it doesn't have to do with prestige but rather fit. mine was such a program, not prestigious at all 😅 but super affordable, relatively easy/laidback, respectable, and a solid program long matured and well-suited/geared for older students imo. highly competitive (i was 4.0 too but i wasn't a top pick for them either). keep grinding and searching, there are a lot of programs and tbh, your gender makes you more sought after. thanks for the comments and good luck!!!
