Educating yourself doesn’t have an age. You have 60-80s going back and/or finishing school. Education is a lifelong thing. My oldest student was in his 80s. Nurses are needed. Keep going!
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I am over fifty and will start Nursing school in 2025. I do not plan to work as a bedside Nurse no more than two years, if that long. My goal is to work from home. Again thank you.
I love your video. 48 years old stay home mom. Planning on starting Patient Care Tech program and RN down the road. I like it when you said I want to own my time. Smart Lady❤❤
Hi DeeJay RN! hope everything is well with you. I guess there's a purpose of me coming across your UA-cam. Thanks for sharing your experience as older adult nurse and I'm starting nursing school after holiday as older adult as well. God Bless
That's a great question. I'll make a video about it but basically look for insurance companies if you're a nurse. In my experience big insurance companies ( those that are offer insurance in many states in the U.S.) tend to be more strict and smaller insurance companies (those that offer insurance to people in a few counties in one state) tend to be less strict. It also depends on what type of manager you get. That's very important as well. You can work at a small insurance company and get the manager from hell. So I would just test it out. Always have more than one job under your belt in case you do get that manager from hell at one job.
Great question. I made another video about that but basically I would think not unless you have a year of bedside under your belt at the very least but you never know. Find the right company that is understaffed and really needs people and you might get in.
That wouldn't be smart of me to tell who I work for now. I can tell you I did work for Anthem in the past though. There are many insurance companies out there you can apply for though. Just pick one that you feel would be ideal for you.
52 and just became an RN working on BSN and CRNA is next! Stay encouraged, it is possible!

I’m interested in working from home. What are some of the best places to apply that give a good work life balance?

What company do you work for from home?
