Incredibly well spoken man. Thanks for the amazing historical recounting of Dr. Kempner's days at Duke, and a very credible support of the rice diet.

from 11/20/2012 to 6/03/2013 i did the Esselstyn/Mcdougall diet and dropped from 173lb to 160lb (6'0 male), my total cholesterol dropped from 215 to 154.

Good interview thanks for posting John. I would have loved to hear more stories of people who stayed on his rice diet long term. I like how Frank talks about peoples beliefs getting in the way of their rationality at the end. And the persuasion cascade of people not willing to make that choice because the vast majority of other people don't, which I believe is very true.

Inspiring to listen to this lecture on simple food choices toward health, but I am sure it might be a very good idea if it was possible to make McDonald change their foods into a new low far,low sodium starch based vegetable meals “ to go”- it might become a new fast food health wave 🌼🍀🌿

Breakfast 1 fruit. Lunch 2 fruits, 1 serving rice. Supper 2 fruits, 1 serving rice. 1 fruit = 1 apple, 1 peach, 1 orange, etc or 1 cup blueberries, 1 cup grapes, 1 cup raspberries, 1 cup applesauce etc. or 1 cup fruit juice, fresh made in your juicer. NO salt, or protein. No avocados or nuts. 1 serving rice = 3/4 cup plain boiled white rice with NO salt or fat or anything else added. Use Uncle Ben's Long Grain Rice and rinse it twice before cooking.
If you do a web search for Dr Kempner rice diet you can find some of his original papers or get The Rice Diet Report by Judy Moscovitz.

@@lenns_music Here is some more information. There is more if you look online, and there are books by Kity Gurkin Rosatti who worked with Dr Kempner. There are other details to it, but you have enough to start on. Suggest you have your doctor monitor your progress with blood tests, urine tests etc. Some patients stayed on the diet for weeks or months until their condition improved, then added vegetables, small amounts of meat and dairy.
