This is exactly what a sequel should be, these QoL changes are insane and the added mechanics are going to be such a fresh addition to the game. Not too much change, not too little innovation, just perfect.

I love the micro-scale visual effects! Special props to who ever worked on the shields and shield effects! Super cool.

Awesome! Glad for the consolidated planet-to-planet management screen. Would take for ever on a very large map to click through all the planets before, and I had OCD. So thank you, lol.
Makes a HUGE difference in the late game where you have more resources than you know what to do with and can easily spam upgrade any planets with what you need. Stardock are also already very mod-friendly which is gonna have a huge impact on the lifespan of this game, as it did Rebellion.
Think they’ve really smashed this one out of the park. And all for a very reasonable price tag too.

Really looking forward to this game. We get way too few really good sci fi games (especially rts / grand strat / 4x).
The better question is how do the Advent's Titan ships look?! Well at least the Vasari look great. I hope the wait is short.
I know in a previous video I had phase lane questions answered and AI exploitation of phase lanes was tied to AI difficulty. Is the same true of Minor Factions and is so what is the default difficulty of Minor Factions?
Is it possible to play as a Minor Faction? Might be a fun challenge run.
The definition of a Minor Faction is that they don't do anything, more or less. So really, starting with all their infrastructure would be a strict and overwhelming advantage.
@@lintrichards6007 Layer on build, research, and expansion restrictions, and have the player fulfill the requirements of a Minor Faction.
An example would be limiting the number of systems a Minor Faction could claim, say 5, and the rest need to be negotiated for with the Major Factions.
Severely increased fleet cost for ships outside your systems is another way.
Yes, it nerfs the player, but could be a fun challenge.

Will you be adding the custom map generator from Sins 1 ingame with multi star games?
That isn't what I expected orbital planets to look like. Why not just build proper solar systems, why have weird hyperlanes between planets and not just star systems?
Are we ever going to see a Sins of the Prophets 2?

Can we still generate maps with 200+ planets in a star? Looks like one of your shots showed a map with roughly 100 planets, but that is still a long way from 200 or more. I think my maximum I played with was something like 312 in Rebellion with a couple of friends and 6 AI players.
You guys truly are the only game left in town for games development. All of the other studios are sellouts, too political, or just plain suck.

Kind of fascinating that there's no Advent minor factions, despite having their own disunity going on. Looking forward to seeing the rest of the advancements made for this sequel.

Really interested in this game, beside stellaris which is more cerebral with its events and reading soase2 will be much more action packed.

Sins of a Solar Empire is always what I kinda wanted from Stellaris to be honest. I finally played the series when it was very old, but I still enjoyed it anyway due to how much more fun fleet commanding was.
I didn't get the UI update on my epic games sins 2 copy :(
The U.I update, Advent and much more will all be part of the Summer Update coming up

On the downside, by inference we can gather a month-ish until full release, which is sad. But kind of the point of these I suppose. You need to drum up interest and discussion.
I wish the naps were bigger. The exploration and expansion would model the real galaxy.
Basically running EA on EGS. The reviews are pretty bad to be honest and personally, I'll be more than glad to wait for a proper release on Steam.
