I ordered an xps 13 9315 about a week ago, it comes in today and i’ve already decided that i’m returning and purchasing a xps 13 plus. thanks to your videos, uncle mikey! great channel, great content. 🙌🔥
Speakers are average at best but I guess that’s fair given how thin it is. Wallpapers can be found by googling ‘4k wallpapers’ and it should be the top hit!
My LG Gram 16 managed 40 days before trying to regularly cook itself at almost zero load - 85-90+C temps with the fans going wild - for no reason. Not that LG seems to care. So based on my experience so far, don't touch them with a bargepole until they fix their shitty support attitude and the random overheating. When it wasn't impersonating a portable heater, the screen, keyboard and other stuff were just fine. I used my mostly with external displays, but did several multi-hour sessions on trains & planes where the screen was pretty good. Portability was great, weight to screen size really good, even if it was a bit bendy
@@mikedropstech Nothing in task manager - just boosted the cores, shoved in extra voltage and heated up. Then would cool down again, with no change in anything. Currently typing this on my old Zenbook from 2015ish that I've had to pull out of a dusty cupboard.. Also bought direct from LG, as some of their first forays into direct to consumer, their CS team is underwhelming to say the least.
Heard from some friends the new gram range with the P series chips are running warmer to the touch than the earlier U series variants. What's your experience been? Does it get warm at the palm rest / keyboard ?
What’s your work flow look like, I cant imagine how to get 10-11 hours of battery life on my gram 17 2022 the iris XE model. Browsing internet for me would last about 6-7 hours maximum
I was using for browsing and Google workspace, close to my main wifi access point. If yours is new, give it a week or so to settle down with background indexing and also check you aren't on the maximum performance setting in your battery settings!
Brother i need windows laptop with configuration 512 drive, 16 Ram, i5 or amd 5 processor. I thought to buy xps but its small. Please suggest some good alternative
Not sure exactly what your use case is but the Xps 15, Lenovo X1 Carbon (14”), Surface Laptop 5 and Asus 14X are all good options. Check out my previous videos for reviews on any of them except the Carbon which I’m working on right now.
I reviewed the 16 earlier this year so I doubt I’ll pick up another one just yet. Other than the chip change I believe they’re identical so that review should help!
Having been in the military and worked on “military grade” equipment, when something is labeled as being made with “military grade” components, I automatically trust the durability significantly less because it’s honestly pretty shitty quality😂
I also need the keyboard in the middle. I hate to see the numpad. Its useful for many though. And no SD card slot in a 16" chassis? But I must say, your reviews are among the best and most enjoyable 😊

😱 Enjoy the Plus when you get it and thanks for watching buddy!
I voted you up when you said: "I want my keyboard to be symmetrical". You are sooooo right!!
😍😍
Excellent review!! How are also the speakers? And where I can find the wallpaper at 2:32? Thanks in advance!

@@mikedropstech Thank you so much 😊
Is this still worth the buy in 2024?
Under $900.
I'd get the newer version but I still haven't tested anything as light as this!

Oh wow 😩

Didn’t notice any difference but also didn’t push it other than benchmarking 😩
I'm really interested in this laptop but as mentioned the off-centred keyboard throws me off too. Is it an OCD thing? 😅
Yep. I just can't do it 😳
So is it better than the Samsung Galaxy Book Pro2 360? I am gonna buy one of them
They're both great although I saw better battery life on the LG!

I heard due to heat dissipation issues performance is poor when load increases
Sounds reasonable given how thin these are!
No bend test???
Dude, I have to buy these with real money! No way am I bending it 😂😂
Wow man, the effort in this video is incredible, like comparing the redbulls to the gram lol
Thanks! I thought it was a fun idea 😱

You should research a bit more before releasing this review, especially when trying to somewhat compare laptops. This review could have been better.
