Just as I expected, this is another one of those cases that y’all are SO split on when it comes to sentencing. I know some people feel passionately one way or another however please be kind to each other while expressing your personal thoughts on the sentence. It’s okay to have different opinions and hear each other out :) ALSO sorry that my eye is red in this video, I got cat hair in it 😂😂😂😂
Camilla.camilla Camilla I’m looking from his family’s perspective. If he was my little brother excitedly telling me he had a date and got dressed, just to never come back and I hear his “date” set him up for even a robbery? I’d want her put away for the max, honestly. They’re never going to get him back, at least her family can still visit her.
Exactly! Shes a piece of shit that dont deserve to live in society with us that dont break the law. She was 19 and thats plenty old enough to know right from wrong. U wanna run with the thugs then accept the consequences! I have no sadness for where she is for life. At least shes alive and gets to see her family.prison is way to easy in AMERICA if u ask me. My ex did 10 yrs and his low life lived a easy life off my $ watching tv all day, eating all day, even had a dog for companionship in there. Wtf? Alot of people that are free dont have it that good.
My heart absolutely shattered as soon as she started describing this precious boy getting dressed up. That baby was expecting to go on a date. That's what I can't get out of my head and the only thing I am focused on this case. Rest in peace sweetie, you're loved and missed❤️
exactly! my heart broke he was just trying to do something nice and the money was prolly for her such a horrible thing he wanted to do something nice and sadly it cost him his life
and that's why we shouldn't have any sympathy for hiccup girl, she deserves everyday of that life sentence. They could've just robbed him and not killed him.
The fact that he was probably all excited thinking he was going on a date (and took the time to get all dressed up) makes it even sadder to me 😭😭 I hate people
Yup sad on so many different levels. 1)She's completely unattractive! 2)From 1 to 10 (shes a 2)👎 She was not worth the trouble or his last breath PERIOD!
Idk why but when you were describing how he was getting ready for a date, and getting gussied up and the whole time it was a set up my heart was breaking
LaLa Lo Thank you. I came here to add George Zimmerman’s name. Florida used to be an incredible and wonderful state. They have changed the whole system and many laws there. I would never visit that beautiful state again. Their laws are so unfair.
Ambistyr do you mean to tell me there was more evidence against this girl than Casey Anthony and George Zimmerman? What more evidence did either of those cases need?
I blame the justice system as a whole. You brought jurors into the equation. And even still. Explain to me how either of those cases had more evidence than this one?
I like how instead of the mother being surprised her daughter was charged with murder, she asks “who’d ya kill?” Like what?! If I was a mother and heard that I’d be screaming
I was in prison with this girl, I spent the last 10 years on the same compound with her. She definitely says that she is the one who turned down the 15 year plea not the prosecutors office, so weird, she always walks around saying she’s so dumb for turning that plea down and taking it to trial and she regrets it so much, I never knew it was the prosecutors office who actually turned it down. I can also assure you she is in there not walking around depressed every day. I don’t think a life sentence was really fair in the situation, and I’m sure she probably does feel bad, but she isn’t in there struggling every day, she’s acclimated and found a way to once again follow the crowd. It’s sad.
Dude wtf he just wanted a date omg i could imagine him getting dressed up all nice & talking to his cousin while dressing and saying hes going on a date with a cute smile :((
This comment is so sad :( I can only imagine ! I hope she gets the max because she caused his death if it wasn’t for her setting him up he’d still be alive and happy.
😢😪😥🤧😭 no kidding. Poor guy, excited for his date,, dress up probably even wore his best cologne and wore his best pair of shoes... shit like this pisses me off. She got what she deserved, she knew what she was doing. My prayers go out to the young man's family.
I think if she would have called the police right after she learned they had murdered him, it would be a different outcome. She became an accessory to murder as soon as she found out & decided to not report it/ cover it up.
No she still would have been charged with murder, in the commission of a felony if anyone is killed they everyone is charged. She set the the robbery up, they had a gun that’s a felony. Even if she did not know they had a gun it’s still a felony that she set up. If she had not set up the robbery and then found out about the murder, then she would have been an accessory after the fact. I think people believe she was charged with murder because she did not report it, and tried to cover it up. But that’s not the case because she set up the robbery witch led to that young man’s death. If she had called the police right way unless she had immunity then the change is still the same. Now she was offered 15 years in a plea deal but turned it down thinking that she would get out of this.
She was with him at the exact moment that he was shot & even if she wasn't & did go to police she would've still rightfully been charged as an Accessory since she set him up.
Just saying, but she made no attempt to help him after he was shot. She didn't try to call 911, go to the police, run to a house and frantically knock on the door. Nothing! She made no attempt to help him. She ran with the other murderers and tried to hide the evidence. She acted like she was responsible for his death instead of a bystander like she says, so she should be treated like it.
You may be right, but I've been in a situation where I was so terrified over what I just saw and witnessed that I basically went into shock and just ... went with the flow. (Certainly not a murder, but IF she is telling the truth, maybe she felt that if she did try to help him or if she ran, they'd kill her too?) When you realize someone is capable of murder, that you're HANGING OUT WITH, I imagine that would be a huge shock and fear-factor. All I'm saying is... there are a few different possibilities as to why she acted the way that she did afterward.
@@kellfrillman4199 if she knew the people were capable of beating him up without a care, why wouldn’t they be capable of murder? "i hAVe a FaMiLy wHo WaNts Me HoMe." Yeah, and the victim's family wants him home and he never will be able to go home because you lured him into a situation that you knew would be somewhat violent.
I’m late to this one, but I kind of feel like the victim has been forgotten in all this. I feel like if she wasn’t a semi famous white girl there wouldn’t be a story here. I feel so sorry for Shanon and his family and I hope they find some peace.
@@darlingdeb7010 Why not? Race affects how criminals like her are treated. White women have been proven to get more sympathy and reduced charges at higher rates than other races of women and black victims are often vilified or forgotten.

The problem is that children sometimes can't, due to lack of knowledge and perception or because of immaturity, what kids think is good is not always the best choice! Kids normally just want to be "cool" or break the rules and popularity always wins for them which is obviously stupid 🤦basically what i'm saying is their choice won't always be the wisest, but they will 100% think their choice is always wise. She lured him there knowing that, at the very least, he would be the recipient of some sort of violence.... and he dressed up thinking he was going on a date. Breaks my heart for him.
Poor baby… he was so excited he even told his friends, got all dressed up, put on cologne before he went out the door to make sure he smelled nice and looked neat. May he Rest In Peace bless his heart… she deserved the sentence.
“someone even told me to smoke weed to get rid of the hiccups” “but you wouldn’t do that?” “no never!” 2 minutes later in the video she’s getting weed😶🤣 no hate just thought it was funny
im sorry but imagine that man got ready thinking he's going gonna go on a nice date and it was A damn set up. the whole time costing him his life. good for her
Exactly. It's really, really sad! She got exactly what she deserved. I even hope she gets those hiccups again forever. She's just as guilty as the other guys.
Maybe I misunderstood but it sounded like to me when she was describing it on the phone to her mom when she first was arrested that she was there when it happened. I think she deserves it. She knowingly and willfully led this guy with ill intent. Whether he was getting beat up and robbed or killed and robbed is really inconsequential. If the genders were reversed and it was a man leading a woman, you would probably think he deserved the sentence.
does that mean she has to be in prison for LIFE while she's like 19 or 20 ???? she didn't live and she sure lured him in, but SHE didn't kill him like wtf
@@lcdc_azuralie too bad. You do realize that if she didn’t lead him, he would be alive rn? Anyways IMO she got what she deserved but she should be allowed for parole after 30-40 yrs.
SMO No she had no idea he would be killed. I would send most of my energy angry at the actual murderers. I don’t think she should have been charged with first degree murder, she should have got accessory to murder.
It breaks my heart that this poor boy lost his home and basically lost everything and then met a girl he thought he was going on a date with and then lost his life. It’s just so upsetting. To me being that heartless to rob a man who just went through all of those things should’ve gotten her at least 20 years alone. She didn’t kill anybody though so life might be a little excessive but lots of time is fair in my opinion.
Life is too good. Life for a life. She knew at the very least he would be harmed for pocket change. Heartless, could give a flying f*** about anyone but herself. She shows no remorse for anyone but her poor self in prison for life.
Yea but shes a girl so it's not her fault. According to people like kendall women don't make their own decisions it's just men. Women are basically just toddlers who do whatever men tell them...according to people like kendall at least. I mean the real victim here is the hiccup girl the video was literally about her being the victim but the young man she had murdered was just a side note she spent about 10 seconds talking about. Poor hiccup girl being inconvenienced by that guys death she caused so sad. Actually the guy she had killed is the bad guy he victimizing the poor hiccup girl it's so sad.
that’s so cruel. he thought he was going on a nice date and she led him to an alleyway and he was murdered. it doesn’t matter whether or not she knew he was going to be killed, she knew he would be harmed either way.

How does Florida come down so hard on a girl who wasn't at the murder but Casey Anthony is free. *not saying she should be out of jail but I think it's crazy that the justice system is so irregular
Scott Cearbhaill ? The victim wasn’t her boyfriend. One of the men who robbed and murdered him was. She lured the victim to his death. He thought he was supposed to be on a date with her and she set him up to be robbed and ultimately killed over 50$. The victim was the one who was to be buying the weed from Jennifer’s boyfriend who then killed him.
Speaking as a mom, if someone lured my child into a dangerous situation that took their life then ABSOLUTELY I would hope and expect them to get a life sentence. Shes the reason hes dead over $50. So freaking sad.
A person... a KID is dead due to her recklessness. She deserves to rot regardless if she will reoffend or not. It doesnt change the fact she was a ploy in someones death.
I think she should've been convicted of manslaughter. She knew that they were going to rob him, so she at least knew he was going to get hurt but she didn't intend that the murder took place.
No she set up this young man, if she had not done that then he would still be alive! Just because she did not intend for him die does not mean she is less guilty. They offered her 15 years she is the one that turned it down not the courts. Now she wants that 15 year deal!
@@nethkenm not in Florida, the law says in the commission of a felony if someone dies then everyone is charged, her lawyer told her this would be a hard case to win because of the phone call to her mom from jail. Part of me says she shouldn’t be in jail for life, as she didn’t kill him and they all didn’t think he’d be killed, but the other part of me says she led him into that alleyway. Not only that, but honestly, she is as guilty as they are, as none of them meant to kill him it seems, so how would it be fair that those two men would be harshly punished, and she wouldn’t.
Katie Baas Katie Baas yeah but they didn’t mean to kill them either it sounds like by the way they were panicking. I agree one should face harsher punishment, but you know the man who didn’t shoot the guy will still take a harder fall in that situation. The two should involuntary manslaughter maybe, and the guy who pulled the gun should get regular. In these cases privilege tends to show itself.
It always blows me away when I see something like this that she got life in prison, when the woman who purposefully hit my grandfather with a car while he was on a walk and killed him got 6 years. Our justice system sucks.
I think accessory to murder is more fitting. She’s the reason he was there but she wasn’t present at the murder. I think in most states that’s what she would get.
Jen Wilson Yes but she helped them cover it up instead of calling 911 and trying to get help. She definitely deserves the sentence she got in my opinion .
Are you saying she shouldn’t have life in prison? She lured that man to be murdered.. I don’t know what rapists you are talking about that don’t get prison time but when you take someone’s life in a calculated manner like that you don’t deserve to walk the streets again.
That poor sweet boy though, he actually got all dressed up to take this girl out on a date, all gentlemanly, he seemed like such a good nice person, and the only thing they stole from him was his date money. He lost his life over that, that's really devastating. I hope his next life is filled with many blessings.
“I have a family that wants me home” Well, Shannon Griffin’s family wants him home too but you took that away from them. I think I am just a bitter person so I think she got what she deserved. I would never allow someone who killed my family member or assisted in the killing of my family member to have a step of freedom for the rest of their life.
She didn't kill him or assist with killing him. Dude wanted to buy some weed. She took him to a dealer. How is she responsible for what they did to him?
I whole heartedly agree that she should've done time for her actions. However I think 15-25 years is fair considering she didn't pull the trigger. Life seems fair for the guys who actually murdered him. In my eyes that means life for a life.
She walked that young man to his death. She’s responsible for it. She’s just as guilty as they are. She might be a little more sick than the one that pulled the trigger. She literally lured and walked him straight to his death.
exactly! like she said she lured him in and knew he wasn’t going to be ok it’s so sick and now she’s trying to play victim it’s horrible like you said let’s not forget the real victim and it certainly isn’t that girl
I don’t feel bad for her. I’m looking at this from a parents point of view. I have 2 sons and if someone set one of my boys up (god forbid) that ended up with a life lost, I’d want the toughest sentence. You had your hand in someone dying, now lose your freedom and spend the rest of your life in prison. At least her parents can still speak to her and see her. Those other parents lost their child forever.
But she didn’t knew, it was going to end him killed, do I feel bad for her no. But do I think she’s just as guilty as the person who pulled the trigger, no.
Hailey Parsons I get that she didn’t know he would be killed but the possibility was always there as soon as she lured him there. If someone started beating up your loved one and they died would you not want the attacker to be locked away forever? Or would you want the attacker to be let off after 15 years because they “didn’t know they would kill your loved one”
Heres the thing I feel like she should've gotten minimum 25 years in prison and have to spend the rest of her life going to a therapist- bc what she did was just horrible however she is not a danger to society which is what prisons should be used for. I'm saying see a therapist so she doesn't let herself think its somehow ok to lead someone to get hurt even she never thought it'd lead to death.
While I think you are correct and as a parent you would want the toughest sentence, I have to disagree with you. Not the whole part because she was the mastermind, but she was only the mastermind behind the robbery. From the story of her leaving and being so shocked whenever he was shot, I don't think she had a clue they were going to kill him. She stated in the video she thought they were maybe just going to beat him up a bit.
Exactly! Regardless of intent or not, maybe those guys would have killed someone without her but there can be no argument on the fact that in this scenario they had access to their victim BECAUSE of her. She's 100% the reason he is dead even if she did not partake in the actual killing itself. She is just as guilty.
I agree! Even if you say she probably didn't know what she was doing because of manipulation, she still "lured him" there. It's because of that, the crime and murder was committed in the first place.
Exactly, she could’ve gotten a plea deal if she had taken accountability for her actions instead of trying to shift blame onto everyone else & self-victimize.
which sucks tbh, like she didn't shoot the gun nor was aware of the whole situation, so imagine pleading guilty to something you aren't .the justice system ain't shit bro. I mean the whole situation is shit
She’s the catalyst, without her call, the young man wouldn’t be murdered. Even in the interview she didn’t take accountability and there is no remorse for Shannon only remorse for herself.
The fact that she caused his death yet it wasn't intentional means it was manslaughter on her part, not first degree murder like it was on the guys who actually killed him. She is to blame but in a different way, a way that doesn't deserve life without parole. Think about what people who do so much worse get. But yes, my empathy is more with Shannon's family thank hers.
@@maddie8415 I think she should have a chance at parole, and honestly I think the only reason she got hit so hard is she set up the environment for the killing, it couldn’t have even begun to happen without her involvement and that’s why I think they didn’t get manslaughter. Because that’s an accident, but since there was technically planning it counted as pre-meditation
@@MollyThaMasta Well, in the majority of states she would have not gotten a first degree murder conviction and life sentence without parole just like the guys who actually killed him. Florida is...unusual. I'm not alone in my way of thinking.
You still have to take into consideration the degree in which these actions are taken. Yes, she does deserve time for the carelessness for what she did. But first degree murder its severe in this case. The 2 other guys involved definitely deserve first degree, but its hard to rule what she did as first degree. I believe it should still be considered murder, but life without parole and you didn't even do the deed. Seems extreme. Especially with not much evidence to back her conviction in the fullest degree.
Oh good golly I just loooooove when people think they are sooo slick, totally gonna get away with their ridiculous crimes, refuse a plea deal...and instead they get their ass served to them on a silver platter. It’s just the best.
He dressed up, put on cologne, those $50 were likely for their date. And she lured him to his death. She brought him there and served him to the killers on a silver platter. She is dangerous. She definitely deserves life in prison if she’s so impressionable that she’ll give someone’s life away just bc she’s told to.
Yes but do you think she really deserves life in prison if she didn't even pull the trigger, if she didn't even kill him, I mean she was so young, in my opinion 15 years for her and for the guys who actually did it both 30.
she is absolutely NOT the victim. she played a HUGE role in this innocent man’s murder and 100% he would not have been killed that night if she hadn’t lured him there in the first place. who knows, maybe even after she brought him to the alley she could have done something to stop it? or not left? backed out and just called the whole thing off maybe??? she ABSOLUTELY deserves to serve time - lots of it!! however. life in prison is way too much of a sentence. she needs therapy, needs time to grow and mature as a person, take accountability/responsibility for her actions, and learn to become a better human. but she also deserves a second chance. she deserves to be able to move on and actually have a life not rotting in a maximum fucking security prison alongside actually horrible, despicable people. at the end of the day, i don’t believe that she was the one who pulled the trigger (and, beliefs aside, there is no actual evidence to prove that she fired the gun anyway), therefore i don’t believe that life in prison without the possibility of parole is an adequate sentence. the girl was 19 for God’s sake. why can’t the judicial system be this hard on pedophiles, rapists, serial killers, etc etc???
My thoughts exactly. How do you charge someone with a murder when we know she didn't actually pull the trigger (and we know who did for that matter). She deserves time but if this was actually a robbery gone wrong I cannot imagine her shock when the verdict was read.
The thing is though the crime occurred in a state where it doesn’t matter if you pulled the trigger or not you can still be charged with the same crime as the person that did. It may seem strange to other people & yes the laws are harsh but I live in Texas, we have similar laws & it’s not strange to us because they’re our laws. They are the way they are to deter people from participating in crimes because trust me here you think twice about even playing a minor role in crimes.
A few years ago my dad was like, “there was this girl that had the longest hiccups in the world and she was involved in a murder.” Just randomly one day 😂
Relatively speaking, in regards to hiccups, she got off easy. According to Guinness World Records: An American man named Charles Osborne was weighing a pig in 1922 and started hiccupping. He was still hiccupping 68 years later in 1990, after about 430 million hiccups. Yikes.
This one hit way too deeply. I'm going to be thinking of Shannon for a while. That beautiful soul deserved so much better and I hope he's filled with love and joy wherever he is now.
That poor boy was so excited. He was sooo thrilled to be going on a date. It terrifies me that he didn’t get to go on one with a girl who actually cared for him Rest easy baby rest easy
LiwiaGoszynska she knew something bad would happen & knew that worse could happen. She lured him in there. Anyone knows a robbery could always go wrong. I respect your opinion but this is mine, don’t disrespect it; thank you :))
Her being behind bars is exactly where she belongs. I believe she knew well enough it wouldn't end well. She led the guy there and has faced consequence of doing so.
Unfortunately, we don't know what's in the minds of district attorneys. There are plenty of cases that exist where someone receives a much harsher penalty than what they deserve because the DA wanted to make an example out of them.
Thank you for saying this. Ppl always have strong opinions one way or another until it personally affects them. I’m pretty sure if anyone lost their family to this girls actions they’d feel the same.
As someone who lost their sister to a “robbery gone wrong” I don’t think she got the wrong sentence. Robbery in itself is violent, and there’s ALWAYS a possibility of someone getting shot, stabbed, beat up, etc. To lure someone to that scene means she had enough time to back out and tbh that’s just as wrong.
@@liyre4189 you and the 6 morons who liked your comment are disgusting. She clearly hid the fact that she knew he was killed, after she lured him to get robbed. I totally agree with the sentence. She led him there. At minimum, she believed that they would beat him up and rob him, something that could just as easily kill him. She also didn’t attempt to help him. Can’t justify that.
True! This is what people are underestimating. She KNEW they were going to beat him up and rob him. She knew. And I myself know someone that died from getting beat up. So essentially she could have known it could easily go wrong and turn into a murder. However then again it is hard because some people are very immature and don’t realize the actual consequences. She was probably immature, impressionable and didn’t realize how badly it could go. Idk. This is hard.
Exactly! She knew she was luring him to something very bad. Robberies never go as planned. And the fact he was killed over a measly 50 bucks really disgusts me even further! I don't feel bad for her. Not one bit
She was part of the "premeditation" she new he was gonna get hurt even if she just thought they were gonna "beat him up", beatings/fights go wrong all the time people are left paralyzed and people die too, point blank she knew she brought him there to get hurt, sadly his life was lost because of all 3 of them.
I agree. And thinking they were “just going to beat him up” doesn’t make you sound much better... it still shows malice and a lack of regard for his wellbeing
That’s not exactly what the premeditation word means legally, but yeah, your liability point is where the felony-murder rationale comes from. It’s not always a comfortable outcome imo. There is more balance where the charge requires an inherently dangerous felony but still that potential for harm is hard to square with pulling the gun and ending the life with your own hand. Doesn’t feel right and we usually see it applying to younger groups of ‘adults’ where problems creep up morally about what they conceived the likelihood of a death could be.
@@nicoleparreira1024 There are three basic elements of first-degree murder: willfulness, deliberation and pre-meditation. Willfulness refers to a person's intent. The person had the intent to end a human life. Deliberation and pre-meditation refer to having enough time to plan the act and second guess the act.
As soon as I heard her hiccup noise, I assumed it was fake. Real hiccups don't care if you're talking, you'll hiccup in the middle of whatever word you're saying. Hers seemed to 'wait' until her sentence was finished. They don't sound realistic either. Whenever I get the hiccups for more than a few minutes it turns into a not so pleasant sound.
Jennifer didn’t “fall into the wrong crowd,” she IS the “wrong crowd.” She lured the man to the robbery, knowing that he could die if things went wrong. Even if she didn’t know there was a gun involved, she left him to be beat up by 2 men, which could have killed him. Lock her up and throw away the key 🤷🏼♀️
GemsStr7 I AM SAYING YUP! LIFE! i thought it would be DEATH ROW! honest YOU SET HIM UP you are the WORST out of the three, and you admit you at least know he is going to get beat up....well people die like that as well. she is the WORST in the group.
@@Isabel-ge1ou she set him up for him to be beat up and robbed, that obviously isn't a good thing to do but that isn't as bad as MURDER. the person who pulled the trigger is the one responsible for the murder, she didn't instruct him to do that.
She lured him to his death. She helped plan the scenario. Just because she didn't kill him, doesn't mean she didn't know anything. She's just as guilty as the other two
I agree with the sentence. It isn't as though the sentence is above and beyond when you consider it is the law - a law which was already in place. If we would follow the laws on the books in all cases, it would certainly cut out the possibility of people getting off the hook due to race, gender, or social status. Of course, in a perfect world, this crime would never had been committed. Regarding her DNA on the victim, that simply proved she was there which set her up for the punishment even though she didn't pull the trigger. She did indeed set up the meet. He would not have been there but for her. We cannot lose sight of the fact that a young man lost his life. A mother lost her son. I agree it is a very sad situation she is in, and as a parent I cannot imagine seeing your daughter in that situation, but neither can I imagine the loss of a son to such a cold-hearted, senseless act. When she was asked what she thought was a fair sentence, she answered 20 years. I find it interesting she was willing to gamble over that 5 year difference. I understand his life cannot be replaced by her imprisonment, but with a law like that in place, it is very black and white. I seriously doubt whether her being 'the hiccup girl" had any bearing on the case. Of course, I wasn't in the courtroom, so that is just an unqualified opinion. This is a sad situation all the way around.
Charles Manson never actually killed anyone even though he's known as a murderer/serial killer for orchestrating the murders. Yeah, we can argue that Charles Manson was worse than Jennifer Mee but it's still the same principle. She helped orchestrate it and led him to his death. People get life for hiring hit men too. She's right where she needs to be.
I don’t know about that, Manson asked those people to kill for him. She claims she had no idea it was going to end in murder.. im not saying she doesn’t deserve to serve time though🤷🏼♀️
Using Charles Manson (who orchestrated the mass murders of multiple victims out of his cult establishment) as a comparison to a girl who helped in the planning of a single robbery (who wasn’t even the “lead planner” or instigator - if anything she was manipulated by her bf) and had no intentions, when she lured the victim there, of the situation turning into a murder, is pretty extreme! Just sayin... Two totally different situations and therefore are not comparable, but don’t get me wrong, she is where she belongs; I just don’t think she belongs there for life w/o a chance of parole - not when her role in the crime was much less than those of the others!
I was scrolling through the comments cause she was talking really slow at one part lol and u just ruined it haha jp I’m glad I saw this comment cause I hate surprises
i mean sure, she was hanging out with the wrong crowd. literally, the wrong type of people to be around and that's on her. but she was just a kid, and to have life sentence for that seems unfair to me.
i dont think she would have reoffended if she got the plea deal of 15 or 25 years. She looks like she can function in society. I hate her for what she did but a life sentence?? really??? some child killers get less time than that.
That poor guy!!! 😭 It breaks my heart thinking about how he got dressed up for a date and was probably in a good mood, excited for a fun night out, just to be killed over absolutely *nothing!* 😭💔
Shes not so innocent. She helped bleach evidence, fled, as well as PLANNED to lie about the incident until they told her to say the truth because of her "fame". But she shouldn't be in jail for life.. just my opinion.
@@NatalieMcyrus I agree that one shouldn't have life, especially since she didn't pull the trigger. But so far all that is said is he said/she saids. So does that mean that she really didn't know her bf and friend had a gun??🤔 Sadly I just can't really trust someone's word when they were planning to lie the whole time UNTIL the friends asked her to fess up. I do agree with the prosecution seeking minimum of 25yrs. Life no but 25 is good. A life was lost..
Well to be fair I don’t think she was planning to lie... I just don’t think she was gonna bring it up. There’s a difference between withholding information and blatantly lying when being asked a question.
Not going to lie, I genuinely thought you were going to say she'd snapped and killed someone, and then she used her hiccups as her defence! 😂 On a more serious note, this was heart breaking. 💔
I’m checking the comments before I watch and misread the name as Cheyenne and was thinking that’s a Rare name for a guy .i had a mini panic attack when I remembered this was in Florida and I went to school with a guy named Cheyenne but spelled with an S and similarly to the way Shannon is spelled . My stomach dropped for a second.. then I realized my mistake. But yea she planned to assault & rob him anyone with a brain could figure out that things might go as planned and he might die or be permanently injured for the rest of his life if things go wrong like he fights back or the attackers panic. She didn’t care about the danger he would face and that ultimately lead to his death .
gusher duck for violent offense’s I’m more punishment especially if it ends in death even if the person didn’t intend kill someone. As for drug offenses depends on the drug and if they were selling it . Especially dangerous drugs that could kill someone. I had a friend ( my friends boyfriend actually). who smoked weed and did other drugs and many of their friends or people they bought from died from “ bad “ / poorly made drugs . The people selling don’t seem to care that others could die from it. unless you make it yourself you would never know if you are ether taking or selling “ bad “ drugs .I never did any because I was afraid to ruin my life by getting addicted or just plain overdosing . Then I read some books about different kinds of addiction and came to view people who sell these dangerous drugs vary harshly. Weed tho ? Not a big deal but still serve the time for the crime . Maybe the laws around weed should change but until it does be prepared to serve the time if you get caught. Sorry if this whole thing doesn’t make sense it’s vary late here.
Honestly, as a resident of Florida, I think the sentence was fair. She could have taken the plea deal, but nah she thought she would beat it. This highly reminds me of the Seath Jackson case, he was lured to his ex girlfriends house, and murdered... One of his murderers just got out on a technicality.
Kendall let’s not forget the completely INNOCENT man that was senselessly killed and has NO life left to live. She is ALIVE and LIVING. Her family will continue to visit her and write her and call her and share memories and updates. The victims family gets to visit their son in a graveyard 😞
Leanda plus 3 Literally!!! And she has the audacity to go on about how hard it’s been for Jennifer and her family, doesn’t even touch on how the victims family and how they’re feeling. Like what about Shanons family and how hard it’s been for them considering their sons been killed and they’ll never see him again?? Makes me so angry.
Leanda plus 3 people who feel bad for Jennifer and think she should get parole and get to live her life when she was deeply involved with taking someone else’s need to give their head a wobble. 🤯🤯People like that who don’t care for anyone life or wellbeing but their own make me feel sick.
Salma Sang Exactly. This is the kind of crap that would make me bounce on Kendall. Judging from the comments section a lot of ppl feel the same way we do and just can’t believe Kendall had the audacity to make a video like this about the convicted and NOT the victim. Wtf is really going on in her life right now why she feels the need to cry for this loser who participated in this mans death instead of for the victim and his family??!?? Like wtf 🤔
When I have hiccups I can’t finish a sentence or drink without being interrupted by a hiccup. How can she say a full paragraph and drink for many seconds without having a hiccup?!!
Yea that's just becasue kendall wants to make her seem like some victim. She doesn't give a shit about the victim just the hiccup girl cause she saw her on tv before. The mind of a child.
@@jcarroll7371 uh... Chile calm down she just gave the backstory as to why the girl is called the "hiccup girl" , there are a lot of robberies gone wrong (sadly ) she chose this one BECAUSE the girl was somewhat popular thats what makes it different from the rest of the cases
Naw, she maliciously coerced him there. She knew something was going to happen to him and still lured him there. I can't imagine the poor guy being excited about a date while she knew something bad was going to happen to him. She can say she didn't know there was a gun involved but they could have killed him without a gun as well. I'm not sure how I feel about the sentence but its not a lot of sympathy.
Who commits a robbery without a gun now a days? It’s a staple piece in a robbery. I have not seen someone threatening someone with a crowbar in a robbery
All I think of is that poor boy, so excited thinking he was going on a date. Getting dressed up and ready to meet a girl only to walk right into his own death. It really upsets me. Yes she got a stiff punishment but it's true that she was the one who lured him there and without her he would still be alive. It was a senseless, unnecessary loss and thinking about that poor boy... well she deserves what she got
It’s unfair to say that if she wouldn’t have led him there he would still be alive because they could’ve gotten another girl to do the exact same thing she did. If it wasn’t her it would’ve been someone else and she definitely does not deserve life in prison when Casey Anthony is out here walking as a free woman.
@@sydney987 not true. They probably wouldn't have trusted another girl to have done it and not tattle on them or trust one to have known of their plan. And it seems like this boy was particularly taken by her so there's no saying he would have met any other girl, especially in a shady alley. And it doesn't have to be one or the other. Casey Anthony for sure deserves to be rotting in a jail cell but that doesn't mean hiccup girl doesn't either...
Just as I expected, this is another one of those cases that y’all are SO split on when it comes to sentencing. LaLa Lo Thank you. I came here to add George Zimmerman’s name. Florida used to be an incredible and wonderful state. They have changed the whole system and many laws there. I would never visit that beautiful state again. Their laws are so unfair.
Interesting how Florida has such “strict laws” yet Casey Anthony and George Zimmerman were acquitted 🙄
It’s ridiculous
That’s exactly what I thought of! I was like “wait, are we talking about the same Florida?”
Ambistyr do you mean to tell me there was more evidence against this girl than Casey Anthony and George Zimmerman? What more evidence did either of those cases need?
Lack of Evidence..
Yes,bit of a Ronnie Watts moment there.
I didnt even think about that, and she responded with that so quickly like a murder charge wasnt a surprise
I noticed that too. That tells me momma knows what kind of person her daughter was.
I agree with this so much. I thought it said so much about how her own mother felt about her, and what kind of person she really is.
well i would ask that too ;)
I was in prison with this girl, I spent the last 10 years on the same compound with her. RIGHT
won't smoke week but will set someone up to be robbed/killed
Was looking for this comment
That's what I thought, too!
I think if she would have called the police right after she learned they had murdered him, it would be a different outcome. She became an accessory to murder as soon as she found out & decided to not report it/ cover it up.
Exactly
yessssssssssssssssssssssssssssss so true
I agree
She was with him at the exact moment that he was shot & even if she wasn't & did go to police she would've still rightfully been charged as an Accessory since she set him up.

Just saying, but she made no attempt to help him after he was shot. She didn't try to call 911, go to the police, run to a house and frantically knock on the door. Nothing! She made no attempt to help him. She ran with the other murderers and tried to hide the evidence. She acted like she was responsible for his death instead of a bystander like she says, so she should be treated like it.
Most definitely.
absolutely
Yup. Agreed.

Part of me says she shouldn’t be in jail for life, as she didn’t kill him and they all didn’t think he’d be killed, but the other part of me says she led him into that alleyway. Not only that, but honestly, she is as guilty as they are, as none of them meant to kill him it seems, so how would it be fair that those two men would be harshly punished, and she wouldn’t.
well one of the men held the gun and pulled the trigger. a little different. not all the same roll for all 3 of them.
Katie Baas Katie Baas yeah but they didn’t mean to kill them either it sounds like by the way they were panicking.
I agree with you. Her family can go visit her in jail but Shannon's family can't.
I 100% agree
You're not bitter, you are 100% correct. She lured him out and set him up for violence. Lovely girl. POS, she's exactly where she belongs.
i agree w you. maybe im bitter too lmao but even if it was an accident, if that was my brother i'd hope she got life in prison.
She didn't kill him or assist with killing him. Dude wanted to buy some weed. She took him to a dealer. How is she responsible for what they did to him?
LOLLL when she would “definitely not take a hit of marijuana” idk why i laughed so hard
Was literally going to take a hit and she said that-
Her logic: marijuana bad, murder okay.
She needs to stay in prison!
And then at trial she blames the fact that she was doing drugs for her actions! I guess she took a hit of something way stronger than pot!
Yea, that obviously changed though. Lol
Lol yea weed is bad but murdering a guy is cool.
Even if Jennifer didn't know that they were going to kill him she still knew that they were going to do something to him.
And that’s why I don’t feel bad for her. She knew they were going to harm him, no matter how they did it. Good for her
Screw Jennifer she can stay there, she thought this all through just didn't go as planned! Horrible!
I whole heartedly agree that she should've done time for her actions. However I think 15-25 years is fair considering she didn't pull the trigger. Life seems fair for the guys who actually murdered him. In my eyes that means life for a life.
Nina Gonzales and if she didn’t lure him there then he would still be alive, so I agree with you. A life for a life which is why she deserves life.
So you think beating someone up is the same as murdering someone? Whole lot more people should be in prison then.
She walked that young man to his death. She’s responsible for it. She’s just as guilty as they are. She might be a little more sick than the one that pulled the trigger. She literally lured and walked him straight to his death.

Yup.
Facts! In my opinion she’s lucky she only got a life sentence. His family lost him forever because her selfishness
As soon as you said "he would still be alive if she hadnt lured him there" Its as simple as that. She was responsible for his death period.
Absolutely agree
Exactly... This man will NEVER come back ... Let THAT sink in
Thank you. I can't believe some of these comments.
You know what was very telling..... the first call to her mom from jail. Her mom was not even IN THE SLIGHTEST shocked.
If she would've plead guilty she wouldn't of got life, but she plead not guilty knowing she they had evidence of her setting him up.......
Exactly, she could’ve gotten a plea deal if she had taken accountability for her actions instead of trying to shift blame onto everyone else & self-victimize.
iPhoneRepairGirl the plea deal was no less than 25 years so she took her chances and pled not guilty, thinking she would beat it.
Cece 3333 exactly so if she had taken accountability then she wouldn’t be in jail for the rest of her life. That’s her fault.
Wow I didn’t realize that
which sucks tbh, like she didn't shoot the gun nor was aware of the whole situation, so imagine pleading guilty to something you aren't .the justice system ain't shit bro.
Actually she did express remorse. You must have missed that.
Bet she’s wishing she took that 25 year plea deal

If she “really liked him”, she would’ve turned around to stop it or help him. She continued with leaving instead.

Yes but do you think she really deserves life in prison if she didn't even pull the trigger, if she didn't even kill him, I mean she was so young, in my opinion 15 years for her and for the guys who actually did it both 30.
She deserves to be in jail she is the reason he met those dudes and was set up so i agree with you
Agneta Rupšytė I agree the 15 years sounded appropriate for her. The gunman should’ve gotten life and the other somewhere in the middle.
She never claimed to like him
It was all a set up from the beginning!
she is absolutely NOT the victim. she played a HUGE role in this innocent man’s murder and 100% he would not have been killed that night if she hadn’t lured him there in the first place. who knows, maybe even after she brought him to the alley she could have done something to stop it? or not left? backed out and just called the whole thing off maybe??? she ABSOLUTELY deserves to serve time - lots of it!! however. life in prison is way too much of a sentence. she needs therapy, needs time to grow and mature as a person, take accountability/responsibility for her actions, and learn to become a better human. but she also deserves a second chance. she deserves to be able to move on and actually have a life not rotting in a maximum fucking security prison alongside actually horrible, despicable people. at the end of the day, i don’t believe that she was the one who pulled the trigger (and, beliefs aside, there is no actual evidence to prove that she fired the gun anyway), therefore i don’t believe that life in prison without the possibility of parole is an adequate sentence. the girl was 19 for God’s sake. why can’t the judicial system be this hard on pedophiles, rapists, serial killers, etc etc???
Exactly
My thoughts exactly. How do you charge someone with a murder when we know she didn't actually pull the trigger (and we know who did for that matter). She deserves time but if this was actually a robbery gone wrong I cannot imagine her shock when the verdict was read.
I agree !

But that doesn't justify a charge of first-degree murder, which requires intent to kill and the act of killing. She had neither of those.

*knew; but also good point 🌈
Yup! 100%. She got what she deserved.

She should serve the same amount of time!
100 percent agree

I don’t know about that, Manson asked those people to kill for him. She claims she had no idea it was going to end in murder.. im not saying she doesn’t deserve to serve time though🤷🏼♀️
yeah but life?? feels a bit too much for me, she didn't know nor planned it to end up in murder

Well to be fair I don’t think she was planning to lie... I just don’t think she was gonna bring it up. There’s a difference between withholding information and blatantly lying when being asked a question.
She had lied about selling him weed remember ? 😯
Krystal Clearr sorry I thought you meant she had the intention of lying to police about taking him there
Thank you again Kendall for your very informative and engaging videos
Not going to lie, I genuinely thought you were going to say she'd snapped and killed someone, and then she used her hiccups as her defence! 😂
On a more serious note, this was heart breaking. 💔
justice was served i think. she led shannon there, he’d still be alive if it wasn’t for her actions.
But do you value rehabilitation for criminals or punishment?
gusher duck for violent offense’s I’m more punishment especially if it ends in death even if the person didn’t intend kill someone.
Like a siren
Honestly, as a resident of Florida, I think the sentence was fair. She could have taken the plea deal, but nah she thought she would beat it. This highly reminds me of the Seath Jackson case, he was lured to his ex girlfriends house, and murdered... One of his murderers just got out on a technicality.
Kendall let’s not forget the completely INNOCENT man that was senselessly killed and has NO life left to live. She is ALIVE and LIVING. Her family will continue to visit her and write her and call her and share memories and updates. The victims family gets to visit their son in a graveyard 😞
I actually really liked Kendall but disgusts me how she’s sat here defending that girls crimes like wtf
Salma Sang like who cares if her sentence was too harsh she orchestrated that mans death! Kendall needs a quick sharp reality check 🙄
I noticed that too
I really thought she was gonna be so mad about her hiccups that she killed someone...
LMAO
ME TOO OMGG
Yea that's just becasue kendall wants to make her seem like some victim. She doesn't give a shit about the victim just the hiccup girl cause she saw her on tv before. The mind of a child.
@@jcarroll7371 uh... Chile calm down she just gave the backstory as to why the girl is called the "hiccup girl" , there are a lot of robberies gone wrong (sadly ) she chose this one BECAUSE the girl was somewhat popular thats what makes it different from the rest of the cases
@@jcarroll7371 Imagine coming onto the video, watching it just to insult it on a 5 month old comment thread. Just go
Naw, she maliciously coerced him there.
Thank you!
Yes she no innocent on this , she deserves to loose her freedom, to have her life taken like she did with the boy they kill.
