We need to bring not very popular cases to the media to get justice for the ones who didn’t have any. This is a way we can spread information on cases and maybe reopen them.
If a weapon goes missing, they will literally shut the entire base down until it is found.... but they can’t do that when a PERSON goes missing????? That’s what got me the most!
My dad is an Army NCO, and I have never seen him as angry as when he was talking about this case. Vanessa was only a year older than me, and I could see it in his eyes how much it upset him to think about it. He told me he told all of his soldiers that harassment would not be tolerated and he went to all of his female soldiers and told them he would help them if they were ever harassed.
I wish I had NCOs like that..sadly mine were just the worst. Your father is making a change in their lives, trust me. If only ALL could follow that mindset.

I was in the Navy for only 6 months before I was “medically discharged” . I was discharged because I reported sexual assault and harassment that came from one of my superiors. I was immediately put in a psych ward (I made no mention of wanting to harm myself in any way, ALL I did was report). I was there for 3 days before they came to be and told me I could go home, or present my case in front of officers who would there decide my fate. I had enough and went home. End of my career before it even started.

They do so many SHARP briefings and such in the Army and act like they care about preventing sexual harassment/assault/abuse, but I think it’s just to cover their asses and make it seem like they care.
The Army has the SHARP program (sexual harassment/assault response and prevention) but 99% of the time it’s not taken seriously. It’s really sad and infuriating. They really just have it to say they have it..

The fact that the mom said the police report and what they told her actually very different also witnesses reached out and said they heard two shots when Arron died. Her mom believes he didn’t kill himself they’re covering their tracks. I believe her.
My old classmate enlisted into the military right out of high school. She was sadly sexually assaulted multiple times and when she reported it they did nothing about it. She asked to be transferred and they took months to finally transfer her. She sadly ended her life

This is so sick 🤦🏽♀️ I remember when I was in high school and recruiters came to promote joining. I took one of the brochures and was reading it when I walked into my classroom. My favorite teacher who was a Army Veteran snatched the brochure out my hand, tore it up and threw it in the trash. I asked why would he do that, and he told me that he looked at me like a daughter and would never allow he’s daughter to serve. I asked why? He served! I said I wanted to be a army fighter pilot like him or a sniper. He straight looked me in my face and told me the army is sexist. He said not only would I not be allowed to be a fighter pilot or sniper because I was a woman but that I’m more likely to be raped or assaulted by my fellow soldiers then the enemy. I was shocked 😳 the look on he’s face of concern and knowing was troubling. I could tell he had seen or even participated in some horrible things. That he was truly scared for my life. At the time I couldn’t believe he would utter a bad word about the Army. We are talking about a decorated officer who would brag about he’s time of service proudly! He told me so many stories. He had a BIG ass photo of himself in uniform standing next to he’s helicopter 🚁 and jets up on he’s office wall. This conversation stuck with me my whole life! I even talked my sister out of joining because of this conversation! A few years later I heard about the woman who was raped by her commanding officer and fell pregnant. She reported him, and was forced into hiding. He found her, and she went missing while pregnant. Never seen again! That conversation crept back into my mind. Just like hearing this story has made it creep back into it. 😥 I truly believe my teacher saved me from a lot of abuse -psychological and physical- and maybe even saved my life. I’m praying for this family 🙏🏾 and I’m praying for all the woman and men who go through this type of treatment who stories will probably never be told. 😓

I was sexually harassed by multiple superiors and was raped while passed out by a fellow sailor in school. It happens too much. MIlitary men are angry little boys who think that women cant be equal.
The only females I know personally that have not been sexually assaulted are my two young daughters. Literally every female I know besides them have been raped/molested and most aren’t even military. Yes it’s a problem in the military but it’s a PROBLEM in our society

I would look into her direct supervisor. She said to her mother that a sergeant was harassing her. Aaron was a specialist (one rank below sergeant). There’s no way she would use such a term carelessly when rank is EVERYTHING in the military.

The first time that they searched Leon River they found another fort hood soldier's remains, Gregory Morales. Who was missing since late last year. I dont understand why everyone dismisses it like it never happened.

I agree what happened was very wrong but I don't think they should shut down the whole military base. There are other jobs there than being a soldier! Like nurses, fast food workers, lots of other jobs. Plus there are neighborhoods there too. All of those people would loose their homes and jobs. His name was Gregory Wedel-Morales. He was declared AWOL when he disappeared. He only just got removed from the Army’s AWOL list a month after his death. There’s a FB group calling for justice for him. His mother is on there and she said she knows he wouldn’t be upset that Vanessa is getting more attention because he had a good sense of humor and would have joked that he wasn’t as “pretty” as Vanessa. He seemed like an absolute sweetheart. The saddest part of his case is he was found only a little ways from a housing development. The people living in the homes thought he was a dead deer. :(

Please talk about Enrique Roman Martinez. He was a soldier at fort Bragg who went missing on a camping trip with 7 other soldiers and was later found decapitated, no arrests have been made.
That was the remains of Gregory Morales. He had gone missing last year. I am friends with his mother. This is all sad and scary. I am moving to Ft Hood area as my daughter is stationed at Ft Hood.
LaVena Johnson's death was also very suspicious. Her family was very suspicious into her "suicide" and did an independent investigation and things didn't make sense. Blessings to both families. Just wanted to add her name because the stories were so similar, and they both deserve justice.

It's an armory building. When I was in the Marine Corps we used whatever we could to haul all of our gear instead of strapping it all on to and from our POV. Gear can weigh 80 to 160 pounds.
I was Army for 12 years and was stationed at Hood. There are alot of other things that you can keep in an Arms room outside of weapons. Also..Arms Rooms aren't just 1 room. They are a secure room in a building that has other rooms too. He could have had BFA's in the tough box, range targets; lots of things. It's not abnormal to see someone coming out with a tough box.

Jujaspriest my mother was raped while in the Navy by a higher up Marine. She was honorably discharged because she reported it, and he only went to jail way later on when he ended up raping multiple other woman. She still fears to this day that he’s going to try and find her and kill her.

My husband was stationed at Fort Hood, and we lived in Killeen together for about a year and a half. The place is sketchy, but the base is especially sketchy. I won’t say much because my husband is active duty, but the cover up theory would not be surprising in the least.

There’s definitely more people involved with this case. I’m in the Navy and work in the armory. There’s absolutely no way in hell he did this on his own. Throughout the day people are constantly in and out of the armory. And the fact he just wheeled the tuff box to his POV from the armory and no one said shit or stopped him?? Literally blows my mind. I can’t even see how no one stopped him the second he walked out the door. When this happened my entire COC was livid. We’ve all known Forthood has had sketchy shit going on for years like their “secret” prostitution ring. FortHoods entire COC needs to be replaced. His relief needs to be heavily investigated as well.

This happens also here in Spain, there have been cases of harassing and even sexual assault against women inside the Army, and those women are stalked to the point that they wouldn’t talk for fear of their lives... It’s sickening how patriarchal the military environment is, how women are not only set aside but harassed, stalked, assaulted and even murdered... Being a Latino living in latin America this just breaks my heart, I rarely cry but this had me in tears. She could have been my friend, we're the same age, that could be our community absolutely torn and hurt by a heinous crime being covered up by the ones who are supposed to protect us. Recently some text messages have been released from those that cleaned the arms room that she was murdered in. They were told to keep quiet about the blood and pieces of Vanessa that were found.

shelbyscissorhands they’ve found a suspicious amount of bodies that were not Vanessa’s and had nothing to do with her case (at least not that they can tell so far) around Ft Hood and at least 2 of them were missing soldiers they had listed as AWOL...I don’t know anyone who has been personally stationed there but I could definitely believe that. It checks out with what’s already coming to light.
She said she was being sexually harassed by a Sgt. But this Aaron wasn't a Sgt. So maybe they were both in on it and the Sgt helped him clean it up and get away with it.
I was just thinking this. I feel this Sgt was going to actually out the private about his cheating and used that as leverage to get the private to kill her for him to hide the sexual harassment she was going to out the Sgt on.

This case made me so sad. My mom was in the army when she was 20 and she’s Hispanic and also from Texas too so every time I see pictures of Vanessa I think of my mom’s army pictures. I hope Vanessa gets justice and thank you for covering this case

My mom and dad were scared for me walking alone because her and I resemble eachother a lot (Latina, Texan, same age, I even wore my hair and lashes like her) oddly enough I was manipulated and taken advantage of by someone who stationed at ft hood and I live down the street from it. My brother in law was stationed at fort hood for awhile and knew Vanessa. I'm so thankful that he made it out of that base alive and I feel so bad for Vanessa and everyone else.
And there’s more! Sgt Fernandez, 23 y/o male soldier went missing last Monday. Today, Ft Hood announced amongst other things that the soldier was transferred to a different unit after reporting that he was being sexually victimized. He was sent to the base hospital for treatment of mental issues and upon being release, his staff sgt gave him a ride home. No one has seen him since he was dropped off at home. A few hours ago, there was a strong rumor that there was a base wide raid going on. I couldn’t confirmed but people commented on Facebook that CID is actively looking for the missing soldier everywhere on post. Allegedly, Soldiers were removed from the barracks in the middle of the night. Vanessa’s lawyer is going to represent the missing soldier family.
Pamela Hernandez, yes...sadly he was found close to the train tracks on 49 st in Temple. About 35 minutes from where he was supposedly dropped off. Another young soldier gone too soon. :( So many questions still unanswered.

As a veteran, I had my own fair share of sexual harassment while I was serving. When I tried to report my sergeant just said it was just jokes and I “work in a man’s career. What did you expect?” Leaving the military was the best decision I ever made. Vanessa’s story breaks my heart and I hope that her family gets some kind of justice.
I live in Killeen, literally right off of Hood and 11 soldiers went missing/ were found dead between January 2020- July 2020. Another soldier was just reported missing last month.
Omg this scares me SO much, especially because my brother was at Fort Hood & got teased for his gynecomastia constantly so who knows how vulnerable he could have been to a terrible fate like these poor victims 😢💔😔 this is NOT* okay! They need to make HUGEEE noise over this!!!

In my opinion the military attracts generally three different types of people: 1) Heroes who want to serve their country and protect citizens. 2) Desperate people living in poverty who need the education and salary the military provides. 3) Power hungry monsters who idolize guns and violence. Unfortunately the 3rd type of person is too common in the military and this is why there is so much sexism and corruption, and it is absolutely the type of person Aaron was. Unfortunately this also applies to police officers.
I'm Italian, and where I live here in Italy there is an american military base: their soldiers are well known because they get drunk and cause brawls and because of cases of rape. Some soldiers raped prostitutes, and, even if they reported the incidents, the people involved never had their punishment. The soldiers were re-located, and the victims never had justice. That's why I believe that the military base of Vanessa's case helped covering up traces: they did the same here in Italy.

I can see them trying to cover it all up. I was in the military. I was hurt by my direct supervisor. I was 18 and just got out of high school and boot camp. It happened multiple times. I was scared to say anything to anyone. Didn’t think anyone would believe me because I just got to the command. Eventually it was reported that I used to hang out with that individual after he was accused of hurting other females. So I gave my statement and told them what happened. And the information I gave them got leaked out and it burned me bad. A lot of people tried to ruin my career after that and claimed that I was trying to ruin his career. I was scared and devastated. A couple months later it happened to me again. And since I had such a bad experience reporting it the first time I kept it to myself. Never told anyone. A few years of on and off again sexual abuse goes on for me and it left me emotionally and mentally broken. I got out of the military and struggled. Got diagnosed with PTSD from MST. What is really sad is these men are supposed to be our brothers. We are supposed to rely on them and work together as one. It’s hard to trust people in general but that makes it so much harder. If any female service members (or non service members) read this comment, if I can tell you anything is don’t let it stay bottled up inside. There is counseling available if you need it. If you need help sis, get it.

I lived in the fort hood area until a couple weeks ago. A woman was live steaming on Facebook the night Aaron “shot himself” in front of the cops. She was across the street and was screaming that the cops shot someone in the back (this was before it was released that it was Aaron). Let me tell you everyone in the area KNOWS this is a coverup.

I live near Fort Hood and she isn't the first soldier to have gone missing ON BASE. Also every single gate that leads into and out of post has people stationed there monitoring everyone who goes in and out. It isn't an easy process so how he got off base so easily is suspicious. Unfortunately, nothing was done despite her family's efforts . Everything returned to normal once the media went home. It's unsettling that this was the only case to go public. The two other victims didn't get the justice they deserved either. :(

Someone higher up was probably sexually harassing her like a Sargent and when she was going to file a report Vanessa's Superior the guy who was harassing her most likley blackmailed Aaron into killing vanessa. Whomever was harrassing vanessa probably threatened to out Aaron for having the affair if he didnt get rid of vanessa and most likley assisted in the cover up of her murder so Aaron would be able to get away with it, and they probably also gave him a gun and let him run away from the base for a chance to flee and he killed himself because he knew he had no chance at going to trial against the military with the actual truth. He was a fall back guy blackmailed into participating in hopes of succeeding and being promoted and or respected for getting away with it. It has to be his only reasonable motivation to do something like this and thinking he could get away with it. Military brainwash people into positions where everything they do is excused if its in loyalty to the military.

My dad is an Army NCO, and I have never seen him as angry as when he was talking about this case. Vanessa was only a year older than me, and I could see it in his eyes how much it upset him to think about it. He told me he told all of his soldiers that harassment would not be tolerated and he went to all of his female soldiers and told them he would help them if they were ever harassed.
I wish I had NCOs like that..sadly mine were just the worst. Your father is making a change in their lives, trust me. If only ALL could follow that mindset.

I was in the Navy for only 6 months before I was “medically discharged” . I was discharged because I reported sexual assault and harassment that came from one of my superiors. I was immediately put in a psych ward (I made no mention of wanting to harm myself in any way, ALL I did was report).
I was there for 3 days before they came to be and told me I could go home, or present my case in front of officers who would there decide my fate. I had enough and went home. End of my career before it even started.

The fact that the mom said the police report and what they told her actually very different also witnesses reached out and said they heard two shots when Arron died. Her mom believes he didn’t kill himself they’re covering their tracks. I believe her.
My old classmate enlisted into the military right out of high school. She was sadly sexually assaulted multiple times and when she reported it they did nothing about it. She asked to be transferred and they took months to finally transfer her. She sadly ended her life

This is so sick 🤦🏽♀️ I remember when I was in high school and recruiters came to promote joining. I took one of the brochures and was reading it when I walked into my classroom. My favorite teacher who was a Army Veteran snatched the brochure out my hand, tore it up and threw it in the trash. I asked why would he do that, and he told me that he looked at me like a daughter and would never allow he’s daughter to serve. I asked why? He served! I said I wanted to be a army fighter pilot like him or a sniper. He straight looked me in my face and told me the army is sexist. He said not only would I not be allowed to be a fighter pilot or sniper because I was a woman but that I’m more likely to be raped or assaulted by my fellow soldiers then the enemy. I was shocked 😳 the look on he’s face of concern and knowing was troubling. I could tell he had seen or even participated in some horrible things. That he was truly scared for my life. At the time I couldn’t believe he would utter a bad word about the Army. We are talking about a decorated officer who would brag about he’s time of service proudly! He told me so many stories. He had a BIG ass photo of himself in uniform standing next to he’s helicopter 🚁 and jets up on he’s office wall. This conversation stuck with me my whole life! I even talked my sister out of joining because of this conversation! A few years later I heard about the woman who was raped by her commanding officer and fell pregnant. She reported him, and was forced into hiding. He found her, and she went missing while pregnant. Never seen again! That conversation crept back into my mind. Just like hearing this story has made it creep back into it. 😥 I truly believe my teacher saved me from a lot of abuse -psychological and physical- and maybe even saved my life. I’m praying for this family 🙏🏾 and I’m praying for all the woman and men who go through this type of treatment who stories will probably never be told. 😓

I was sexually harassed by multiple superiors and was raped while passed out by a fellow sailor in school. It happens too much. MIlitary men are angry little boys who think that women cant be equal.
The only females I know personally that have not been sexually assaulted are my two young daughters. Literally every female I know besides them have been raped/molested and most aren’t even military. Yes it’s a problem in the military but it’s a PROBLEM in our society

I would look into her direct supervisor. She said to her mother that a sergeant was harassing her. Aaron was a specialist (one rank below sergeant). There’s no way she would use such a term carelessly when rank is EVERYTHING in the military.

Like nurses, fast food workers, lots of other jobs. Plus there are neighborhoods there too. All of those people would loose their homes and jobs. There were remains found just outside of the base first that ended up belonging to another missing soldier and no one is talking about.
I was thinking the same thing......
His name was Gregory Wedel-Morales. He was declared AWOL when he disappeared. He only just got removed from the Army’s AWOL list a month after his death. There’s a FB group calling for justice for him. His mother is on there and she said she knows he wouldn’t be upset that Vanessa is getting more attention because he had a good sense of humor and would have joked that he wasn’t as “pretty” as Vanessa. He seemed like an absolute sweetheart. The saddest part of his case is he was found only a little ways from a housing development. The people living in the homes thought he was a dead deer. :(

It's an armory building. When I was in the Marine Corps we used whatever we could to haul all of our gear instead of strapping it all on to and from our POV. Gear can weigh 80 to 160 pounds.
I was Army for 12 years and was stationed at Hood. There are alot of other things that you can keep in an Arms room outside of weapons. Also..Arms Rooms aren't just 1 room. They are a secure room in a building that has other rooms too. He could have had BFA's in the tough box, range targets; lots of things. It's not abnormal to see someone coming out with a tough box.

Throughout the day people are constantly in and out of the armory. And the fact he just wheeled the tuff box to his POV from the armory and no one said shit or stopped him?? Literally blows my mind. I was on duty when they were searching for her. . .I was also being sexually harassed by my NCO every day for months and I heard about this case and refused to tell anyone out of fear. When I finally spoke up with the proof, nothing happened. I was transferred and eventually left the military. God bless Vanessa, this can happen to anyone.

And there’s more! Sgt Fernandez, 23 y/o male soldier went missing last Monday. Today, Ft Hood announced amongst other things that the soldier was transferred to a different unit after reporting that he was being sexually victimized. He was sent to the base hospital for treatment of mental issues and upon being release, his staff sgt gave him a ride home. No one has seen him since he was dropped off at home. A few hours ago, there was a strong rumor that there was a base wide raid going on. I couldn’t confirmed but people commented on Facebook that CID is actively looking for the missing soldier everywhere on post. Allegedly, Soldiers were removed from the barracks in the middle of the night. Vanessa’s lawyer is going to represent the missing soldier family.
They found his body a couple hours away from fort hood hanging from a tree
Pamela Hernandez, yes...sadly he was found close to the train tracks on 49 st in Temple. About 35 minutes from where he was supposedly dropped off. Another young soldier gone too soon. :( So many questions still unanswered.
It appears that 14 soldiers have been fired or suspended from this base, as of today.

As a veteran, I had my own fair share of sexual harassment while I was serving. When I tried to report my sergeant just said it was just jokes and I “work in a man’s career. What did you expect?” Leaving the military was the best decision I ever made.
Vanessa’s story breaks my heart and I hope that her family gets some kind of justice.

I live in Killeen, literally right off of Hood and 11 soldiers went missing/ were found dead between January 2020- July 2020. Another soldier was just reported missing last month.
Omg this scares me SO much, especially because my brother was at Fort Hood & got teased for his gynecomastia constantly so who knows how vulnerable he could have been to a terrible fate like these poor victims 😢💔😔 this is NOT* okay! They need to make HUGEEE noise over this!!!

In my opinion the military attracts generally three different types of people: 1) Heroes who want to serve their country and protect citizens. 2) Desperate people living in poverty who need the education and salary the military provides. 3) Power hungry monsters who idolize guns and violence.
Unfortunately the 3rd type of person is too common in the military and this is why there is so much sexism and corruption, and it is absolutely the type of person Aaron was. Unfortunately this also applies to police officers.

I'm Italian, and where I live here in Italy there is an american military base: their soldiers are well known because they get drunk and cause brawls and because of cases of rape. Some soldiers raped prostitutes, and, even if they reported the incidents, the people involved never had their punishment. The soldiers were re-located, and the victims never had justice. That's why I believe that the military base of Vanessa's case helped covering up traces: they did the same here in Italy.

She did Shut down a fort Hood !! they revamped and Fired all the higher ups !!! I have a Solder there and they really stepped up thier game , They check on soldiers daily ! room checks weekly, gave roommates to everyone that was living alone on base , accountable buddy :) I’m so glad they made it safer and now soldiers feel like they can speak up ! I’m so proud of her mom ! And Thankful
I can see them trying to cover it all up. I was in the military. I was hurt by my direct supervisor. I was 18 and just got out of high school and boot camp. It happened multiple times. I was scared to say anything to anyone. Didn’t think anyone would believe me because I just got to the command. Eventually it was reported that I used to hang out with that individual after he was accused of hurting other females. So I gave my statement and told them what happened. And the information I gave them got leaked out and it burned me bad. A lot of people tried to ruin my career after that and claimed that I was trying to ruin his career. I was scared and devastated. A couple months later it happened to me again. And since I had such a bad experience reporting it the first time I kept it to myself. Never told anyone. A few years of on and off again sexual abuse goes on for me and it left me emotionally and mentally broken. I got out of the military and struggled. Got diagnosed with PTSD from MST. What is really sad is these men are supposed to be our brothers. We are supposed to rely on them and work together as one. It’s hard to trust people in general but that makes it so much harder. If any female service members (or non service members) read this comment, if I can tell you anything is don’t let it stay bottled up inside. There is counseling available if you need it. If you need help sis, get it.
I'm sorry that happened to you and hopefully you can get better and honestly I think It's best if nobody goes to the military because all thats going to happen is that person would never be the same ever again.

I lived in the fort hood area until a couple weeks ago. A woman was live steaming on Facebook the night Aaron “shot himself” in front of the cops. She was across the street and was screaming that the cops shot someone in the back (this was before it was released that it was Aaron). Let me tell you everyone in the area KNOWS this is a coverup.

raven the weirdo A lot of people go missing/die on base, the base is ridiculously massive. We have legit woods within the base here. You could drive a whole hour in Ft. Hood, be in the middle of nowhere, but still be on the dang base.

I live near Fort Hood and she isn't the first soldier to have gone missing ON BASE. Also every single gate that leads into and out of post has people stationed there monitoring everyone who goes in and out. It isn't an easy process so how he got off base so easily is suspicious. Unfortunately, nothing was done despite her family's efforts . Everything returned to normal once the media went home. It's unsettling that this was the only case to go public. The two other victims didn't get the justice they deserved either. :(

Someone higher up was probably sexually harassing her like a Sargent and when she was going to file a report Vanessa's Superior the guy who was harassing her most likley blackmailed Aaron into killing vanessa. Whomever was harrassing vanessa probably threatened to out Aaron for having the affair if he didnt get rid of vanessa and most likley assisted in the cover up of her murder so Aaron would be able to get away with it, and they probably also gave him a gun and let him run away from the base for a chance to flee and he killed himself because he knew he had no chance at going to trial against the military with the actual truth. He was a fall back guy blackmailed into participating in hopes of succeeding and being promoted and or respected for getting away with it. It has to be his only reasonable motivation to do something like this and thinking he could get away with it. Military brainwash people into positions where everything they do is excused if its in loyalty to the military.
I have a strong feeling that this is what really happened.
