Gotta say dude, finding this channel has been super refreshing. It's a bit lonely sometimes being a male reader. None of my buddies read, yet literally all of my wife's friends read constantly and talk about books nonstop. Literally all of my Goodreads friends are female lol. Anyways, just wanted to share that. Cool finding a fellow bro with similar tastes in books. Glad to have stumbled upon you.
Hey man! I read too! Also, something I like about this channel is Nick just kinda talks about the stoke of reading. He's not an optimization bro trying to tell you how to be more of an alpha by reading 1000 books a year.
The thing I really love about your videos is the authenticity. The fact you rarely ever cut anything and that the videos don’t have a super set structure makes it feel like I’m just listening in on a conversation. I absolutely love it!
Absolutely agree. I tried out a different book reviewer on UA-cam but I couldn't get into her just because her videos are so polished and professional. I found it so off putting!
I agree, I think it's because he dgaf about how he looks and embraces the whole disheveled homebody look that makes him more relatable to me compared to the aesthetic book girlies
I never thought I would be listening with rapt attention as someone talks about drinking water 😂 Your whole vibe is somehow simultaneously peaceful and chaotic
Here in Romania we used to have the milk in bags for years, but now you only find it in plastic bottles or cardboard bottles. This was fun! Thank you! 🙏 I'm glad I found you. 😊🍀
I love the chaotic vibe in this video it's very realistic too many influencers try to pretend their lives are perfect I love the randomness in your videos😂
Hi, in England many years ago our milk came in glass bottles and was delivered to the doorstep every day!! Yes, I am older(66 just retired). Love your channel, you are so warm and friendly. Since retiring have been watching many booktubers and my tbr list just keeps growing. Also am going to get the Mennonites bookas looks amazing. Keep going as I like watching you most of aall the bbotubers I have been watching 😊
You did great. I'm home sick with some coughing virus (not Covid). All I feel like doing is napping, reading or watching a few Book Tube videos. Yesterday I started 11/22/63 on your recommendation. And I'm hooked. My hope is I'm no longer coughing (long before) I finish it.
Loved this!! Thanks so much for showing and sharing! And here in the US, our milk comes in cartons or plastic jugs. Interesting how yours comes in bags in Canada. Found your video when you had about 1k subs, and here you are- almost at 12k!! Deservingly so!!👏👏
Enjoyed this vid Nick! In South Africa we also have “ketchup” chips but we call it tomato flavour and we also have milk in 1 litre bags. Never really gave it much thought but seems interesting now.
OMG, I loved your comments on tomato chips (never heard of them) and milk packaging. My mum was Canadian and I spent many summers in Ottawa and at Blue Sea Lake. I don't remember the milk, but there were bags of white margarine (or butter?) that came with their own packets of yellow dye, and we kids loved squishing the bags to mix in the color.
As a kid in Minnesota, we’d visit my dad’s family in Winnipeg every summer. I remember the bagged milk! Before we came home, we’d stock up on enough Farmer Sausage and Old Dutch Salt & Vinegar chips to get us part way through the year. Eventually we got the Salt & Vinegar chips in America! Love your channel!
Just came from my local library in Mallow Co Cork Ireland and they didn't have "Pet Semetary" totally gutted... Haven't read King in many years but will be on the hunt for some of his classics... Only found you this week but am hooked on your videos... Breath of fresh air.... Did find Toni Morriston "Recitatif" in the library plus Umberto Eco's "The Name of the Rose" so result there😊 Love your little hideaway... Very important for the solitude and loneliness of the reading experience...
I love your personality, and I love how the video is somewhat unedited and it's like I'm just hanging out with a new friend who's very into books like me.
I like it. You found a useful way for Moby Dick as a Monitor Stand:-) Your monstera on your desk doesn't have a single whole in their leaves, that's a sign that something bothers her. Those bookshelves are the only one from IKEA I would buy myself. They look great. I had the same VHS player, I still found old VHS tapes in my basement whenever I get finally rid of my stuff. Just found some Star Trek Voyager tapes, only 4 Episodes on one tape! I would love to play VHS but only on big screen and i think the connection would be tricky and founding a VHS player used which isnt almost broken:-) your room gives me some 80 Vibes I know there an iMac but all the other staff is just retro style in a very pleasing way.
Not done with the video yet and I only just discovered your channel, but man, I LOVE your energy! Instant sub, for sure! (I learned about Ketchup Chips being a thing in Canada through The Long Dark and you made me laugh so hard when you had them on your desk) Also, I think we have similar taste in books, for the most part, so I'm here to stay
Ketchup chips… I would absolutely try them. As a kid I put ketchup on my plain chips, so they sound yummy. I’ve had milk from a plastic jug, cardboard carton and glass bottle, but never from a bag. Interesting! I love your office! I call my office the Rabbit Room. If you’re familiar with the Inklings, then you know. I have a desk, chair, couch and books. No room for anything else. I went on a King search last year and bought every Stephen King book I could find. There are only four I couldn’t get because of rarity or cost. It’s a sweet collection, but not quite as front and center as yours. I love your authenticity and style. Thanks for making great videos. Even when you’re out of breath.
growing up in the American Midwest, we also got our milk in bags, and put it in a jug similar to yours. I remember also being very surprised to learn not everyone got milk that way. So bagged milk lives on outside of Canada. But y’all can keep the ketchup chips 😅
The Expanse Series is amazing! Also, Bloodsworn Saga is fantastic! Just picked up Under The Banner Of Heaven & Into Thin Air, based off your recommendation. Thanks for doing your stuff, ya know
I'm from Ohio but we go up to Point Pelee fairly often to camp, hike, etc. The first time we were in Canada, we discovered miss vickie's sweet and spicy ketchup chips and, based on those alone, I agree with your assessment that ketchup chips are the best chips lol
I really like New Orleans Style chips which is a blend of bbq, ketchup, salt & vinegar. They are my favorite, but hard to find in the USA. Salt and vinegar are my second favorite. I'd love to find some ketchup chips to try!
We have tomato chips/ ketchup(tomato sauce we call it) in South Africa .. I was very surprised when I couldn't find any in America. They are definitely missing out.
Love your videos soo much. I would definitely recommend reading The All Souls series by Deborah Harkness. The first one is A Discovery Of Witches. Book 5 comes out in July. Oh since you recommended the shirts from Girl Parts, I suggested they have a shirt of Mary Shelley & they added her! I got it last week & I love it so much. So thanks for the recommendation.
Here from the UK, Walkers (lays) as it’s known here have had the ketchup flavour option for a very long time. Thought it was just the UK that had them lol. Indeed a very nice Crisp
my girlfriend and I received ketchup chips as part of a snack crate thing which is like "food from around the world delivered to your door!" lol. they were amazing! it's like a nice crispy french fry that's been dipped in ketchup
aaw Fellow Canadian! Love your channel and energy! We can also (here in Qc) get our milk in bags! haha It's usually families that buys it in bags since they come in packs of 3. Otherwise, it's a lot o'milk to drink if you alone. (; Looking forward to more of your videos! 🤗
I love this video, a nice little insight of your hobbies and who you are! Oh and I didn't see The passage by Justin Cronin in your shelves (or am I blind haha), I am currently reading it and I think you will really enjoy it, it suits your vibes I think! It's officially a first of a trilogy and I am very curious for the continuation, even tho I don't really hear stuff about books 2 and 3 lol. It's like a dystiopian story about an apocalypse with creatures that feel like (chemically made) zombies, but sometimes they are called vampires, but I don't agree with that word choice haha
Dude, I have so much to say and don’t know where to start. I love your channel it’s so refreshing. We have similar taste. But where you love Stephen King, I love Anne Rice. And I see some George R. R., can I recommend Fevre Dream? But really why I’m here in your comment section is that I spied All Rhodes Lead Here which was so out of my comfort zone, but have you read it yet? It broke me in the best way. So glad you exist in this space man. 😊
Hi! I just wanted to pop into the comments and say I started reading "Foster" by Claire Keegan this evening and I'm loving it! Thank you for the recommendation! It's so good! Also, on Literary Life's latest video she mentioned Stephen King's short story book called "Some Like It Darker," saying there's a part 2 of "Cujo" in there! Just thought you might want to know. Happy reading. 🙂
An an American who doesn’t like ketchup but loves chips, can confirm that ketchup chips are the BEST!! Tried for the first time last year and was BLOWN away.
If you haven't given them a try I think you would really like the game of thrones books! Intricate characters and worldbuilding even more than in the show, and even if the final books never come out they are still great fantasy worth reading!
I came here for a bookshelf tour and I’m leaving with so many questions about Canada. Milk in a bag??? Do they store them in bags in your shops?? Ketchup crisps?? I’m shook hahahha
I bought a skateboard recently because I told myself i would get back into it and then I remembered my knees SUCK. So I can relate the decorative unused skateboard 😂
Gotta say dude, finding this channel has been super refreshing. It's a bit lonely sometimes being a male reader. Hey man! I read too! Also, something I like about this channel is Nick just kinda talks about the stoke of reading. He's not an optimization bro trying to tell you how to be more of an alpha by reading 1000 books a year.
I read my dude and I’m a dude!! Bro readers for life
100%! That is one reason I enjoy this channel too.
I resonate with this so much. I live vicariously through my wife and her book club
"This is a quilt. This is a quilt we found thrifting. I like this quilt." 🤣
I enjoyed this moment 😂
The thing I really love about your videos is the authenticity. The fact you rarely ever cut anything and that the videos don’t have a super set structure makes it feel like I’m just listening in on a conversation. I absolutely love it!

I never thought I would be listening with rapt attention as someone talks about drinking water 😂 Your whole vibe is somehow simultaneously peaceful and chaotic
Hahaha peaceful and chaotic is exactly how I feel at the same time all the time
I literally just got my mom watching him and I described his videos as "eccentric and calm at the same time"
"I feel like i'm on a talk show or something" **silence**
*stares into your soul and then continues video as if it never happened* 😂😂
Here in Romania we used to have the milk in bags for years, but now you only find it in plastic bottles or cardboard bottles. This was fun! Thank you! 🙏 I'm glad I found you. 😊🍀
I love the authenticity of your videos, the chaos, the awkwardness, everything.
I love the chaotic vibe in this video it's very realistic too many influencers try to pretend their lives are perfect I love the randomness in your videos😂
Fellow Canadian (Ontarian, just outside of Toronto) and seeing the ketchup chips and the bagged milk brought me so much joy??? Books were cool too.
Best “bookshelf” tour ever. Canadians are awesome.
Hi, in England many years ago our milk came in glass bottles and was delivered to the doorstep every day!! Yes, I am older(66 just retired). Love your channel, you are so warm and friendly. Started reading again because of you. The last time I genuinely sat and read was my freshman yr of college when I wanted to teach English
Yay! I thought I was alone watching VHS tapes! Glad to see there’s someone else out there!
Bro lol you're so relatable man lol thank you for the good energy 🤘🏼🤘🏼
You seem like a cool ass dude in person
What's ups from Texas 🫡
The little corner of a workspace with books all around is a dream for a home office I one day hope to have
You did great. I'm home sick with some coughing virus (not Covid). All I feel like doing is napping, reading or watching a few Book Tube videos. Yesterday I started 11/22/63 on your recommendation. And I'm hooked. My hope is I'm no longer coughing (long before) I finish it.
I would never get bored of you talking about Stephen King!!

Thanks for the tour, it was great, as always. I always find time to watch your videos. They are so fun to watch. 😊❤
Love this guy. New in my reading journey and so happy to have come across your channel and IG
Enjoyed this vid Nick! In South Africa we also have “ketchup” chips but we call it tomato flavour and we also have milk in 1 litre bags. Never really gave it much thought but seems interesting now.
I just bought Mistborn yesterday after hearing so many great things about it. Excited to dive into it this week.

I don't remember the milk, but there were bags of white margarine (or butter?) that came with their own packets of yellow dye, and we kids loved squishing the bags to mix in the color.
Most places in Europe have ketchup chips too. Love your space, very cosy. A reading armchairs and it would be perfect.
I've never heard of ketchup chips. Where I grew up we had a Lay's and Heinz factory. Now wouldn't that be something!
Love your space.
Jade Legacy is so great! I couldn't put it down! Dostoevsky and Tolstoy are incredible! Sanderson!!!!
Your good vibes are off the charts🙌thank you!!
I've never been in LOVE with a UA-camr. Man, you're something else!

You make me feel safe lol,
Love the content.
I’m still trying to wrap my head around the fact that your milk comes in a bag!
Ketchup chips… I would absolutely try them. As a kid I put ketchup on my plain chips, so they sound yummy.
I’ve had milk from a plastic jug, cardboard carton and glass bottle, but never from a bag. Interesting!

In the UK we have a crisps called Snaps, they are spicy tomato
cant wait for you to get into the secret history. its one of my favorites for sure

Loving your channel!!! Binge watching 💕! Your taste in books are so similar to mine and your place is stunning!
Thanks for sharing Nick! You have a nice space there to enjoy your things and chill.
Love this! Thank you for sharing. And I loved this style of filming.
Hook on VHS just brought up a ton of memories holy moly
The Expanse Series is amazing! Also, Bloodsworn Saga is fantastic! Just picked up Under The Banner Of Heaven & Into Thin Air, based off your recommendation. Thanks for doing your stuff, ya know

Totally agree about starting series and Game of Thrones. I hate starting a series that isn’t finished.
Ketchup chips sound crazy
You gotta try them dude. They are perfect.
@@booksaresickthey are good!! Very popular in Asian markets too!
Not that crazy… don’t you eat your fries with ketchup? 🙂
I really like New Orleans Style chips which is a blend of bbq, ketchup, salt & vinegar. They are my favorite, but hard to find in the USA. Salt and vinegar are my second favorite. I'd love to find some ketchup chips to try!
We have them in South Africa as well 😂
Loved this tour! The Titanic stuff is amazing! I weirdly love Titanic too. Also, that lighting with the “influencer” light looked great 👍🏼
We have tomato chips/ ketchup(tomato sauce we call it) in South Africa .. I was very surprised when I couldn't find any in America. They are definitely missing out.
Great video, I would love to see a book shopping vlog now

This is my favorite video of yours yet! Hilarious!
I’ve also been enjoying organizing my shelves by book height/size!
Just a thought: a ceiling hook for the bike might help with the chaotic bunker? 😊
I have The Goldfinch, The Lincoln Highway, and Trust all in my TBR pile.
Love pup!
Tomato ketchup crisps in Scotland too 😅
Ketchup chips?!?!?! Gonna Amazamm some of those ASAP!
Hey! I love your desk chair. Would you mind sharing where it’s from? Thanks 😊
We have ketchup chips in Belgium! They are awesome!
Yes, Açai, you pronounced it very well. Here in Brazil it is very famous.
Here from the UK, Walkers (lays) as it’s known here have had the ketchup flavour option for a very long time. Thought it was just the UK that had them lol. Indeed a very nice Crisp
Ketchup chips are where it’s at, my sister brings us some from Canada every time she visits.
my girlfriend and I received ketchup chips as part of a snack crate thing which is like "food from around the world delivered to your door!" lol. they were amazing! it's like a nice crispy french fry that's been dipped in ketchup
That's awesome!
i'm from brazil and you perfectly pronounced açaí, it was very satisfying lol

Got a book in front of me ready to read and what do I do? I’m bingeing your videos 😂
Grettings from Brazil!
Love from Australia, love your videos!! 👏😄
PUP!! seeing them in August in Halifax.. anyways cool space!
Next tour you should take us to your wife’s bookshelf! 🤞🏼😁
can you please tell me what desk/office chair that is? it looks so comfy
Always have fun watching your content❤ I’m not from Canada but going to hunt for that ketchup chips!
Love your videos. I Just found your channel by chance. I liked your bookshelf.
You can get ketchup (tomato sauce)-flavoured crisps (chips) and bags (sachets) of milk in South Africa too. 💚
I love this video, a nice little insight of your hobbies and who you are! An an American who doesn’t like ketchup but loves chips, can confirm that ketchup chips are the BEST!! Tried for the first time last year and was BLOWN away.
What kind of chair is that? It looks so comfortable.
If you haven't given them a try I think you would really like the game of thrones books! Intricate characters and worldbuilding even more than in the show, and even if the final books never come out they are still great fantasy worth reading!
Live this Channel its so fun to watch
Honestly, I think you would be a good stage actor. You should go audition! You're a natural. 👍
Next time I’m in Canada ( Stratford for plays every year) I’ll try ketchup chips! Who knew??!! I also love milk in a bag ( not sure why) 😆
East Coaster Canadian here, we also buy our milk in bags.
I came here for a bookshelf tour and I’m leaving with so many questions about Canada. Milk in a bag??? Do they store them in bags in your shops?? Ketchup crisps?? I’m shook hahahha
Huge fan of the channel! Your setup is definitely much better than mine.
The mic cable connected to the laptop while you were piviting in your chair game me major anxiety. :D
A fellow Canadian! Knew I liked you for a reason!
Did you ever read Anne Rice? Witching Hour my fave but I loved a majority of Interview with a Vampire series. The Road? Freaking awesome
I love ketchup chip when we had them here in Michigan
Bro. Dean Koontz is my fav. King is cool.
Do you get your red wine in a bag too?
did you finish ''the idiot'' by fyodor dostoyovsky yet? if yes was it good? im planning on reading it and im curious if its any good.
We gotta get you a hydro flask Nick!
Do you have an account for photography? I found booksaresick a month ago and have watched ever since!
I bought a skateboard recently because I told myself i would get back into it and then I remembered my knees SUCK. So I can relate the decorative unused skateboard 😂
I can see that you love Brazil, because of açaí that you pronounced perfectly and the colors of your skateboard, same as the flag o/
