Well, Susan, now you've gone and done it! You've inspired a return to sewing for me. I'll be looking for more of your videos. Keep 'em comin'. THANKS so much. God bless you.
I am loving all of your video tutorials, but they all seem to be older ones, do you have any recent ones as well. You are a great teacher and I feel explain how to do these projects very easily .
Another quality lesson! Thank you so much for taking the time to make these tutorials. They are all so very professional and you are a great tutor. Jeannie
Hi, loved this video - the first of yours I have seen! Will definitely try making this bag, it has so many uses. Instructions appear clear and concise - thank you:)
I just don't get how anyone could not like this video....you explain it clearly and the things you are showing are brilliant...I must make some of these as gifts. Your sewing room is great...how on earth do you keep it so tidy....mine just isn't lol. Gillywife of Mark . Norfolk UK
Hi Susan I am quite new to your channel but have watched many of your videos. You are very clear with instructions and keep things very interesting. Thank you for the easy listening content.
I love the bag to do the tutorial from the beginning- so cute ! I want to do it myself and would be a gift! The fabrics you use was terrific, too! Thank you!
Yes, I always take my coffee mug with me wherever I go. This would be a very stylish way of carrying it and keeping it clean in the car till I use it. Thanks again for the very cute bag video.
I hadn't realized what KIND of pocket bag it was! Ingenious! LOVE it! I bought some bandanas and made a throw pillow cover from them. The next pair I get will be made into THIS! Thanks!
I am so thrilled to have found this tutorial. I have written instructions but they were too confusing, especially regarding the threading of the cord. After watching this however, I am now confident enough to make it. Thank you!!
I absolutely LOVE this little bag! I plan to teach some little girls to sew this summer, and this may be a very good first project for them. They'll learn several beginners' techniques and have a cute little gift for their own personal sewing tools or for a gift to someone special. Thanks for the tutorial.
I am thrilled with the way this bag turned out it's really beautiful. I am going to make some more, it was so easy to follow your instructions. Thank you for sharing.
thank You So Much. What a great little Video.Nice and clear easy to understand.and such a great little bad I will make one of these to use up my huge stack of fabric.Ginger Rogers west Australia.
I've just finished making this, and it's absolutely stunning. I took me a lot longer because I made a mistake when doing the "paper bag" effect. I sewed up the corners in the wrong direction. I added beads to the draw string ribbon and it looks adorable. Thank you so much for such clear and precise instructions. It was easy to follow you, once again, thank you so much. Cheers Yasmin
Thank you so much Susan for teaching the wonderful' pocket bag' I liked it very much,I am going to stitch the same for my mom & daughter.I think it's a wonderful gift.keep posting more of your videos.God bless you.
Thanks for watching. The iron I am using behaves very well! It is a very basic iron with steam facility and so I will use it while it behaves, when that changes I will probably replace it as I use the steam feature a lot. I don't know how to fix one that isn't behaving well, sorry!
What an absolutely precious little bag - I love it! Thank you for sharing with such clear instructions. I'll have to give this one a try for sure. Becca
Thank you I really enjoyed watching how you made the pretty little bag. I'm like lowec315 I don't use water in my iron as I have had them spit too! I'm a beginner sewing and have always like the look of quilting and your video has inspired me to give this a try!
I love your videos!! I am amazed at the beautiful construction of your bags!! How on earth did you come up with the method? It is remarkable!! You make everything look so easy!! Thank you so much! Karen in Kansas
Had a go at this myself and it came out really well. My only problem was that I managed to pucker the inner fabric when making the boxed corners. This only became clear when you turn the bag inside out. I did it again (twice) to get it nice and even. Many thanks for the tutorial, I will be making some more as gifts.
I loved watching your tutorial! I enjoy listening to you as you teach. You're pleasant to listen to and you speak clearly! Thanks so much:) From Jan in Maine
I made the bag and it looks great.. Had a problem finding the correct size cording, I ended up with hildie & Jo from Joanna fabrics. What type of cording did you use on your bag? Thank you for a great video easy to follow. Also, thank you to the person who suggested 3" instead of 6 so the bag closes better.
Fascinating design! When you hand stitch the last diagonal seams, do you go through both layers? If so, could you free-arm this? I would be interested to know where to embroider the fabric (at the start), so the design is visible from the front of the finished bag; where it would show either on the pocket flaps or on the body of the bag. Thanks.
Brilliant. Thank you for the amazing comprehensive tutorial. I do wonder though if YOU also have a floor full of cottons at the end of a project?? Sarah x
I love this little bag and your instructions are clear to me, except for one thing. When I boxed the bottom corners of my bag, was I supposed to catch the loose point in that seam? I mean the point that is on the outside surface of the bottom when it is turned right side out when finished. I couldn't see yours in the video.
What a clever project ! My only suggestion/mild criticism is there could be more closeups. I'm thinking this bag would be spectacular in a dressier brocade for evening. I might add a few beads at the points.
I love your videos...Today, I made the bag in video 014, I do not have cord. What type of cord did U use and what size? It looked thin. Your videos are the best well formed and easy to follow. Thanks so much for sharing. I look forward to more of your videos. DJ ;o)
Hi SusanClare, would you kindly tell me the size of the 'completed' bag, please? As Christmas is fast approaching, this is a good and easy gift to make. Thank you. I love all your tutorials - they are so clear and easy to understand and make.
My second time watching this video. If I want to make a larger bag from this video, would I just increase to whatever size I think I would use or are the amounts of increase done in a specific manner (by one - two, or more at a time to get accurate sides)? Thank you for any help you can provide. Love to watch your videos.
Love this bag! I made your Lotus flower bag for Mother's Day to give as gifts. I love the fabric in this video, is it a Batik fabric? Thank you, Belinda from Chicago, Illinois USA
Origami with fabric! This is ingenious. I must try it. Do you have measurements of the fabric pieces required if you wanted to scale it up to a small handbag size?
Where can I get the pattern for this tote? Also I prefer to use fabric instead of the Fat Quarters. So how many yards does it take for this bag? Thanks Laura
nrdy grl when she drew the lines "a bit less than 4 inches" on either side of the point, she was dividing the folded edge into three equal pieces. So, use whatever size square you like, Fold the square in half (in a triangle) and measure the long side of the triangle. Divide this measurement into three equal pieces. (So, if you have a 30" fold, mark and sew 10" from each corner, your two lines of stitching will be 5" on either side of the centre.) If you make a bigger bag, you should also sew the "paper bag corners" a bit bigger ..... Maybe 1-1/2 inches from the point.
Thank you Susan.
Many thanks for this clear, concise clip - the bag is gawjus!
Snaps on those flaps would secure the pockets if it was used for a little project bag.
Very easy to follow instructions. Thanks
Thanks for what you do
Great tutorial, thank you, beautiful little bag.
Thank you once again. Love this bag.
Lovely gonna give it a try👍👍👍👍👍

that is just adorable! well done x
So very cute!! Thank you.
Hi, I haven't done any written instructions for this one, is the video enough?
Thanks for watching. The cord I used is only thin, maybe 1/8" thick, not too sure exactly and should be easy to find in haberdashery/notions shops.
Adorable 😊 Thank you
Thank you for making such a clear and informative tutorial :-) I'm really excited to make my own pocket bag now :-)
Brilliant. Thank you for the amazing comprehensive tutorial. I do wonder though if YOU also have a floor full of cottons at the end of a project?? Sarah x

Thanks so much for watching and subscribing. Would love to see a pic when you have made the bag.
Thank you loved it - I'm going make that ASAP
Oh, and how do you keep your iron from 'spitting'? I don't even put water in mine anymore for that reason.
Love this bag! I made your Lotus flower bag for Mother's Day to give as gifts. I love the fabric in this video, is it a Batik fabric? Thank you, Belinda from Chicago, Illinois USA
Hi blessings I love the little bag but I want it bigger how I can do please am new On this thanks for you help
Origami with fabric!
This is ingenious. I must try it.
Do you have measurements of the fabric pieces required if you wanted to scale it up to a small handbag size?
Just wondered if you received a reply on how to make this larger, that's what I'd like to do.
+Jean Wragg Just use a larger square, it should come out the same only bigger
Très bon tuto. Merci
I will see if I can write it down for you, might take a while.
very nice
wow, i love this
Genius!
beautiful
Love it.
Bonjour ,
J’aime beaucoup ce que vous faites , mais trouvez-vous tous ces beaux tissus ? Merci pour vos vidéos
What kind of cord do you suggest ?
Where can I get the pattern for this tote?
Also I prefer to use fabric instead of the Fat Quarters.
So how many yards does it take for this bag?
Thanks
Laura
I love this and am wondering how to work out the math to make it larger so the pockets come out correctly.
nrdy grl when she drew the lines "a bit less than 4 inches" on either side of the point, she was dividing the folded edge into three equal pieces.
So, use whatever size square you like, Fold the square in half (in a triangle) and measure the long side of the triangle. Divide this measurement into three equal pieces. (So, if you have a 30" fold, mark and sew 10" from each corner, your two lines of stitching will be 5" on either side of the centre.)
If you make a bigger bag, you should also sew the "paper bag corners" a bit bigger ..... Maybe 1-1/2 inches from the point.
Sarah C McCarthy just under 4 inches from the center of a 17 inch square is not thirds. it's closer to dividing in 4ths.
i love
Very nice. I needed a bag pattern for makeup.
Sometimes the iron spits of it's on too low a setting :)) Maybe check you're on the right heat setting.
