Thanks for the info. My authority goes active next Tuesday. I filled out the form on the Budget website multiple times and never heard back from them. I checked Penske rates and they are crazy. I am waiting to hear back from Ryder now

What if you are team driving and on your way to drop off a load you drop your co - driver off in a city to see family. If pulled over, how do you justify your ELD log

Get your own ELD and it is not a joke.. you might mess up with service of hours and those rental company ELD’s are designed for their company drivers. Owner operators need more control over such tools.

I ordered an ELD from KeepTruckin and they wanted the VIN of the truck. What happens if I have to switch out my rental and they rental company only has a hino instead of the international I ordered the ELD for? Am I stuck until the international comes back in service?
You can swap out the VIN in the Dashboard or app.

I would suggest discussing that with an accountant. As far as the amazon dispatch goes; I would look into trucking groups via facebook and call the people who are advertising dispatch services through the page.

Got a quick question, do you need a ELD if your not driving more than 10 hours a day and staying in one state.???
California
As of right now, there is no ELD requirement in CA for intrastate only (not crossing state lines). However, all states will eventually require an ELD and CA will be requiring one sometime later this year. Official timeline has not been announced yet.
I just got my Authority do I get my ELD right away or wait until i'm close to get my insurance
Often times discounts are offered on insurance with an ELD. Its better to have it prior to purchasing insurance for that reason. Thanks!

yes
Yes, anything over 10,000 pounds has the same ELD regulations.
Do I need eld, or can I do paper log
You need ELD's anytime your are hauling interstate in a commercial vehicle over 10k lbs. You can do paper logs with a rental truck as long as you are not using the rental truck for more than 8 days within a 30 day period of time. The exception to ELD's is if you are hauling within 150 air mile radius and starting and ending at the same place each day.
I sent the form to get a Budget Account on 4/7. I still haven't heard anything yet. I'm sure they are busy. Is there a way we can check the status?
I sent mine into budget almost 3 weeks ago....nothing. I called budget I was told no over the road and I can only use their truck for Amazon relay if I don't exceed 150 miles per day.
Did you ever get an account setup? I know Budget ran into some issues and then made a bunch of changes.
Wait. ELD’s are required in 26’ box trucks? I thought it was for trucks over 26,000 lbs? Or ones that carry more than 10,000 lbs?
ELD's are required for all trucking companies for every truck.
