I am self teaching blender and you have been a life savor. I use a virtual world called Second Live and I had a crazy dream of making houses and furniture and your tutorials are my go to ref. Thank You! Also Archipack takes some getting used to but once it clicks its wonderful.
I tried using Archipack, I just found to be really twitchy, and it would break things in inexplicable, unrecoverable ways. I ultimately found it easier to just extrude solidified planes where I wanted them.

Hi. In minute 6:16 in the video I could not understand how you added a segment. Also, the measurements arrows in the video stay there, whereas when I do that, once I click on the wall, the measurements are gone. Is this because I'm using the newest version of Blender? or a newer version of the free Archipack addon that comes with Blender 2.9?

@@TheCGEssentials i came from fusion so parametric modelling feels good to me. i haven't explored a lot of sketchup yet, so maybe there's a parametric option somewhere in the extensions. but sketchup extensions feels too messy and not uniformed while this plugin feels right at home in blender's layout.

Great tutorial! How to add a segment at end of the 1st one? Do I have to move a 3d cursor to the end of the 1st wall? Why when I type in Properties, for example, 2.4m high in Measurement I have 2.13? Your videos on Archipack have a been a huge help, but the Refence Points are screwing me, and my designs, up. The points are always an inch or 2 from the bottom of the wall, causing my doors to not sit flush. A video or help with these would be amazing. Thank you in advance.

For some reason as soon as I add the first wall piece, if I left click on any of the settings to adjust, e.g. the wall thickness, all the control handles disappear. I can't even change the wall thickness. What am I doing wrong?
you need to tap "N" on the right side of you screen wil come a pop up. Than you click "Archipack" you will see "manipulate" with a hand emoji if you click on that you will have the conrtoles back.
Great video, I need to learn to watch all the way through before trying to follow. I kept losing the references and didn't know to use the "manipulate" button until much further into the video. Any reason why I would keep losing the references when in your video you're not? If I use the arrows to adjust the size of a wall then the references disappear?
Probably because I have the pro version and you have the free version? The pro version has an auto manipulate function that automatically turns on manipulation when you click on an object
I’m trying to make a house from an image .. any suggestions? There is an addon for importing 3D models from google maps into blende, but the models are really low quality. So the best thing is to do something like you are doing. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
well shift A did bring up the mesh/single vert but nothing appears on screen and no edit box - I am guessing you have an updated version? or something else?
You have to be in edit mode (press tab) and if you are in edit mode you have to be in vertex mode to see it (press 1 in edit mode) while focused on the vert. Else nothing will show up.
EXCELLENT tutorial as always ! HIGHLY recommended ! I'm completely new to Blender and have started making a very basic walled version of my own, as in this tutorial. I would really like to see a tutorial specifically on how to add textures to the walls. I have made my own wall texture in Photoshop, but I'm really unsure on how to add this. I want to be able to add, position and scale the wall texture to each individual wall if that's possible ? Is it possible to apply textures to a surface in Blender the same way as in Sketchup ??
@16:13 I noticed that you have that area, Part 1 listed, for your newly created interior wall. For some reason, I do not have that, and I've tried using archipak reg, and archipak pro, it's not showing. Any ideas? Otherwise, there's no way to flip it on an angle that I can see.
Thanks for the video! I have a problem tho, that i hope you can help me with, when I insert a wall I dont have the arrows as you have. There apper when I place the wall but when tap away they disappear, and when i tap the wall again i cant get them to show again as you can. Why is that?
I have the same problem. The arrows disappear once you click on the wall. The only way to bring back the measurement arrows is by clicking N then go to tab Archipack and click on Manipulate. I found it the hard way.

The manipulator handles disappear for me when I try to reduce the length of the second wall segment. There's no Manipulate button to make them reappear. I'm using Blender 2.9. I wonder if that's my problem.

When I add the Wall using the Archipak, I am not seeing the options to adjust the snap another wall to the existing wall options. Is there a setting that needs to be enabled ?
Click the magnet icon at the top of the screen to snap the wall to the vertex of another wall. Unless you mean fully joining one wall to another, in which case you can't.
When I import an image as a plan it seems to not be 100% opaque so it's hard to see the details in floorplans etc... is there any setting that needs to be corrected before I import?
It looks like Blender 3.1 is a bit different? there is no Archipack, there is a Archimesh but while it looks very similar a lot of things like being able to type in the wall length doesn't exist? any chance you can update for this new version?
I rarely see things like thresholds included in architectural modeling tools like this. You'd have to model them manually if you really needed them I think

When I click the double arrows(one going left, other right), I click the right one and BAM it creates a wall, extending the one I first created, but I do not see the angle as you showed...

First time Blender user on v2.92, after years in Maya. I am trying to follow along with your video, but I'm stumped on a couple of things. Being a Maya user, I had set the keymap to be "industry compatible". As a result, I do not see your menu set when I click Shift+A. the workaround I found, after a a while, was the Create menu on the side. Next, when I create a wall using Archipack, I am unable to get back the gizmo you are using to make modifications to the wall properties after I get out of Archipack wall creating mode. :(
Great Tutorial BUT. Having a problem with extruding the vertices. I create a vertices as instructed, select it, go in edit mode, hit E, but nothing happens. It won't allow me to extrude anything. I'm noticing that despite selecting the vert in the Layout view, it's not ACTUALLy changing the object being selected. For example, when I hit extrude, it's actually extruding the wall I previously selected. Not sure if this is a new feature of version 2.9? Officially I'm in 2.91.2

slight issue, in that if you press undo, the guides that make the wall thing work disappear, and I don't know how to bring them back

i think if you use the transform tab the scaling gets messed up , you want to use *only* the options from archipack

Solved my own problem! Make sure have you "Vertex Select" activated, not "Face Select" activated in edit mode :P

All good, edit + pref + add+ extra ob = single vertex
