Yes, the new commercialised videos are way shorter than VGG. And Dereck's commentary is much faster, less relaxed, and compressed to fit in 10 to 15 minutes. They must have been charged by the hour. And why do we only see the first episodes? Where's the rest? If this is an example of Motor Ttrend, I aint stayin'.
“The convertible top may leak”😂. It just might! What an amazing barn find! The fact that beautiful cars like this are still out there waiting to be found just blows my mind 😮
I get the feeling that when Derek calls, Dan already knows he's in for a treat! A guy's gotta love those repairs that require spontaneously sprouting a second elbow on your arm to reach.
I've driven a 1970 AMC rebel machine that my uncle used to have. It came with a 390 but It had a rebuilt 360 w/ step over stock cam headers and all the good stuff with exhaust. Was the fastest car I've ever driven.
How cool can you get Derek with the stuff? I've had lots of successes dealing with old 70s and 80s cars in a couple of 60s everything just went fine, no! I don't know I don't know how you can pull yourself out of these jams, love your show
67 Rebels are really cool vehicles. So good to see this one headed for the road again. A convertible 67 would be my top choice of an old AMC, or at least in the top two.
At the beginning of the video I was beginning to believe this was an episode of Hoarders! Ramblers were great cars! My Grandparents had several, and the ‘67 Ambassador my Grandmother had was the source of fights, within the family, when she passed.
Love the AMC's and this one is a keeper. I had a 76 Hornet X Sportabout with 304 engine. Kept it 30 years and sold it due to health problems. It had 16,000 miles and was all original. Derek, see what you can do to find one of those. Love your videos, keep them coming!
Really great to see one of these with the engine under the hood. More leg room that way! Hate the brief time of these sponsored videos, but we will take what is on tap...
The old Rambler Rebel SST is very cool! They were really popular in the 60s. Most Ramblers were just good basic and pretty reliable transportation. My grandmother had one and she loved it!
1967 was a very bad year they lost 76 million dollars which was considered an astronomical sum at the time. They fired Roy Abernethy who had been President since 1962 and replaced him with William V. Luneburg. Sales were off twelve percent. Total sales were 302,945.For all cars lines produced by AMC. A fraction of what Chevrolet alone sold. Remember GM had five brands, my uncles had a Rambler later AMC dealership for years. AMC's slogan for 1967 was The Now Cars from American Motors. But it was like they were bolted down at the dealership.
Great to see brakes high up on the list. (Thank You). Years ago a friend of mine was taking her daughter to a university in the US . A car crossed the median and slammed them head on. Tragic end.
The guy who ones the car never seen it run since he was 9 some 40 years ago. This is one of those times when you have to stop and consider, the Rebel is already 17 years old when Derek was born. I doesn't matter if its a model A , a model T, a dirt bike or a farm tractor, Derek's old school approach is all the same. He definitely has an old soul, a great attitude, he is everybody's go to car guy and is no wonder to anyone as to why he is so well liked and respected among the car culture. Good job MTC, you could not have chosen a better candidate to promote your channel
That was one of the few Ramblers I did really Like, and the SST's were sleeper cars that no one saw coming and many saw leaving them in their rear view mirrors
Man, that is one sweet old Rebel! Would be awesome if we could get a closer look at the Cherokee lurking in the background. The Bathtub Nash would be cool too. Cosmopolitan?
Man if i had of known your were going to be in NC i would of took the day off of work and came out to meet you as you were only an hour and 20 minute drive from me and i know of a few places to visit on the coast that i could of directed you to !! Awesome work and another great episode 👍thanks Derek !!
My uncle was a AMC man he had some wild ones...1970 international pick up short wide 455 Olds 400 turbo transmission 9 " Ford with a locker and and Chrysler front rotors all factory ...she would scoot.😎 You remind me of my brother....we used live the good life of turning wrenches.... women and life happens and the 😢rest is history...
We used to pass Collier Motors through Kinston on the way to the beach all the time! There used to be AMC javelins , AMX's ...everything inside and in the weeds!
Love your channels Just a hint an old school teacher taught me back in 73. The hottest part of a flame is the tip of it not the middle. Keep that comical information coming in
This is the car that I learned to drive on in high school. Of course we couldn't go faster than 10 mph in the parking lot with the teacher in the seat next to you - but at sixteen behind the wheel of this car - you sure could dream!
I'm glad you made it home from the wooden lamborghini episode, i think the previous owner hosed you, this rebel is a pretty decent looking car, glad you got it up & running, can't wait for you to drive it to the coast.
I had 1970 2 door AMC ambassador Silver Black vinyl top black interior My favorite date car Pop out the headrest flip the front Bench seats all the way back made the whole interior A bed 😅a Beast 360 positive track And had the good old AMC Wiring harness short somewhere you couldn't find battery killer😮
My Mom and Dad were cheap. They bought Ramblers. All the other kids on the playground were arguing Pontiac versus Cheby, or Cripesler versus Ford. We had a Rambler. A Rebel SST wagon, in faded yellow. V8. Factree options, both.
Hey thanks for the tip off. I'm not really all that interested in supporting Derek on some other channel anyway. Then to discover these guys are scrubs.
Love these. Just wish the directors cut would end up on his garage channel with vice grips. These are just tastie tastes of the far better long version.
I drove a friend's brand new copper colored Rebel convertible to prom in 1967. Had a 343 with the 4 speed. 3 days later it was at the dealer for service & fell off the rack & totaled.
My uncle had a SST REBEL with the hood scoops it was quick n fast he took me fo a ride it had a 390 in it painted root beer matalic great car good looking to
My Dad raced a 1963 Rambler when AHRA was in tact. Straight track 1/4 mile. He won many many trophies and was the first to win in his class with that brand new 63 Rambler. I asked him what he did to make it fast...he says...I changed the spark plugs. Rip Dad.
Get yourself a set of crows foot line wrenches, also known as crows foot flare nut wrenches. It will make all those tight space brake lines and steering lines much easier to access. You can use a long ratchet extension and get in almost anywhere. It can be tedious since you can only turn it between 1/4 and 1/2 turn at a time but it makes it much easier if you're not in a hurry.
VGG is awesome every time, Derek is like your big brother that never stop the funny lines. At least this time he also made other lines, the brakes ones.😝
👍I was 16 years old, a fella my Dad worked for, plumbing house call- gifted me a 1969 Ambassador wagon😄 my first ride! It had Power command everything-👍 Kinda like the Vista cruiser-
I realize now I've been spoiled coming from VGG with hour long revival videos!
Never ceases to amaze me how entertaining Derek can be and the vehicles he gets running truly amazing to watch.
You got gas and what?
Smells 🤣like a wheel barrow full of bird beaks
Yes. fuel makin happener, door used for cleaning ditches, completage, seats just need armor all, convertible top probably leaks….😂😂😂
Watching Derek work on cars somehow makes all the B/S of the day melt away....
Derek is the best thing to happen to this channel.
“The convertible top may leak”😂. It just might! What an amazing barn find! The fact that beautiful cars like this are still out there waiting to be found just blows my mind 😮
well it only leaks on the inside
Just leave ‘er down… it’ll be fine…
How do you keep doing this insane schedule,
Koodos Derek, and may you get as much happiness as you provide to everyone else 🥰
I agree, Derek is quite busy. However this particular rescue was an episode from season one of Roadworthy Rescues.
Why they don't put these episodes IN FULL on youtube ceases to amaze me they'd get a ton more views than on some channel no ones got
You ain't lying.
Agreed, I would watch the full episodes but won't bother with this
These Motor Trend episodes give Derek a chance to put some money into getting these cars not just working, but well on the way to restoration.
It is, like most things, about money. Motor Trend does this as a teaser and wants you to subscribe to their service for the full versions.
Well, we won't...@@Axyl00Druss
love the revivals. wish the videos were longer
He has videos clocking in at 2 hrs on his main channel Vice Grip Garage.
These are just tiny clips to get you to buy the season of the full revival videos. Im happy to get to see these no matter how long or short they are.
I get the feeling that when Derek calls, Dan already knows he's in for a treat! A guy's gotta love those repairs that require spontaneously sprouting a second elbow on your arm to reach.
Man, that brought back memories. "A rusty wheelbarrow full of bird beaks". The good old days. Am I right?
Better than the wood lambo. lol
That was horrendous.....
I kept expecting it to catch on fire. I cannot believe the amount of work that somebody put into that thing. Amazing.@@lukasgarage956
I had 2nd hand regret for Derek! He probably wishes he would’ve passed on that!
No termites.
It was kinda cool I guess just kinda tho
I've driven a 1970 AMC rebel machine that my uncle used to have. It came with a 390 but It had a rebuilt 360 w/ step over stock cam headers and all the good stuff with exhaust. Was the fastest car I've ever driven.
Never heard of a pushrod Amc that had " cams " as in plural
@@eriknelson45 that was a typo. I was using speech typing
In my opinion, Derek Is the most entertaining person on youtube!
Those were great cars. Not many where I was as a teenager but they looked and sounded great!
MORE ...MORE...More 16 mins is NOT enough of Derek working his magic.
Love the Rambler/Nash/AMC/AMX cars and the Hudsons too.
Somewhat difficult to repair with zero parts available !
This is the most new/performance pets I’ve seen Derek put in a restoration. Love it!
Derek your da man. Bringing cars back to life. Great stories and brilliant humor. Thanks man. Appreciate ya
It looks remarkably like the Road Runner. I loved these cars growing up. I want to see it running!
Another entertaining and enjoyed episode of you doing a quick and straight forward pick up and rescuing of classic American autos. Thank you.
At the beginning of the video I was beginning to believe this was an episode of Hoarders!
Ramblers were great cars! My Grandparents had several, and the ‘67 Ambassador my Grandmother had was the source of fights, within the family, when she passed.
Derek you’re on fire … be safe keep up the great work
Love the AMC's and this one is a keeper. I had a 76 Hornet X Sportabout with 304 engine. Kept it 30 years and sold it due to health problems. It had 16,000 miles and was all original. Derek, see what you can do to find one of those. Love your videos, keep them coming!
Hes definitely made it, nice job man this is awesome to see you on this channel
Yep soon ESG score mafia will jam a bunch of troonys, blixs and ghys in his videos for muh dyeversity!
So good to see you getting the stopping tubage replaced without having to crawl around in the dirt!
Fantastic video. Love watching Derek. Editing is really great too to capture so much in just 16 mins.
In your hands this car will live again! Beautiful! I look forward to part 2
All the nomenclature and exaggeration of numbers is my favorite. Love ya man.
Beautiful car. Hopefully I'll get to see it done and on the coast. Thanks Derek and MT! Merry Christmas!
Man what a nice looking car , the lines and the wheels you chose are perfect 👍. Happy Holidays to you and your family. Cheers 🇨🇦
I had a 1968 rebel SST yellow with a black vinyl top with black interior when I was in college back in 1970. Great to see this one.
Nice. I had a 1969 Rebel. Love the car. Still only drive AMC to this day.
Really great to see one of these with the engine under the hood. More leg room that way!
Hate the brief time of these sponsored videos, but we will take what is on tap...
I’m so glad I found your channel. This dude is the goat
Derek is a star that has much rising ahead.

I could watch Derek bring cars back to life all day!
I just started watching 'Roadworthy Rescues' a few weeks ago,(so many car shows,so little time sometimes),I'm really enjoying it, it's excellent.
I need to see the rest of the videos in this series. That AMC is a beaut.
It's darn MotorTrend.
You can't watch outside the USA, even if you really, really want.....
I was kind of surprised to see a vacuum wiper motor on a '67! But then, it is a Rambler!
They used them in Hornets as well and they first came out in 1970.
Glad you went through those basic steps, necessary STEPS for the end results, Ready Too Rock? maybe for sure, Yup! Thanks...
Great to see brakes high up on the list. (Thank You). Years ago a friend of mine was taking her daughter to a university in the US . A car crossed the median and slammed them head on. Tragic end.

Love the carburetor removal shovel....lol😄😄
First blush gives off that Planes, Trains and Automobiles vibe😂😂
Ooh a spade ,now that's new Derek 😂 your the man
I have a few AMC rebels it's nice to see them getting some love on UA-cam
Want to part with one? lol
Love his videos. Go Derek!
Boy I like that jeep Cherokee in the background too
That was one of the few Ramblers I did really Like, and the SST's were sleeper cars that no one saw coming and many saw leaving them in their rear view mirrors
Muscle cars and Leaded gas... The good old days. 🗽🇺🇸
Man, that is one sweet old Rebel! Would be awesome if we could get a closer look at the Cherokee lurking in the background. The Bathtub Nash would be cool too. Cosmopolitan?

Can't wait to see more of this kind of content about this car. It's exciting watching you bring it back to life Derek

Wish these shows was way longer on UA-cam I dont do TV anymore.....
Better than the mid engine AMC fiasco fun!!!🤪❤
AMC, still impressive automobiles. Dang I miss them.
I said it before, I like the way you talk Sinore Mchanico.
I love your show, and the way your family members support you
I don’t know how Derrick does it. This man is goes all the time
I'm glad you made it home from the wooden lamborghini episode, i think the previous owner hosed you, this rebel is a pretty decent looking car, glad you got it up & running, can't wait for you to drive it to the coast.

The 343 is a good engine. 5 bolt main and they run cool. Nice car. Cheers 🇨🇦
Hey Motor Trend - If you're not gonna show the end, I'd rather you didn't provide the video at all.
Absolutely. This is ridiculous
Yeah, VGG is a lot better. Derek's content is great but I don't have cable anymore to watch these motor trend shows.
Yeah it's a tease so you have to subscribe to see it. Derek deserves everything he works for. Motor trend can kiss my ---
Hey thanks for the tip off. I'm not really all that interested in supporting Derek on some other channel anyway. Then to discover these guys are scrubs.
Agreed
Been working on my own cars since I was 16. I've left DNA and several colorful words on quite a few cars.ha Really enjoy your shows.
This by far is the coolest car! Love it! Hope to see ya in the north east again.
Love these. Just wish the directors cut would end up on his garage channel with vice grips. These are just tastie tastes of the far better long version.
I’d love to see you rescue a 1963/4 corvette stingray. Beautiful car. 👍🏻
Good Evening Sir , have a great day today ! 😊 Wednesday at 6:49 pm here in AZ 😊 !
I drove a friend's brand new copper colored Rebel convertible to prom in 1967. Had a 343 with the 4 speed. 3 days later it was at the dealer for service & fell off the rack & totaled.
Shovel pry bar, classic VGG. Love it.
Hope to see Part 2 a finished product
I had a Rebel hardtop same year back in the early 90s. Mint condition.
The wood lumbroghini was epic but glad to see a nice car getting Derek's knows in it😅
You got that old beast running.
My uncle had a SST REBEL with the hood scoops it was quick n fast he took me fo a ride it had a 390 in it painted root beer matalic great car good looking to
That’s going to be a badass build Derek
My Dad raced a 1963 Rambler when AHRA was in tact. Straight track 1/4 mile. He won many many trophies and was the first to win in his class with that brand new 63 Rambler. I asked him what he did to make it fast...he says...I changed the spark plugs. Rip Dad.
Derrick 👍 🙋♂️ 👍
Peg!!! He mentioned you in this vidyao!
“Someone was clearing ditches with this thing”
Another video...another good mood! Two in one day....can't hardly stand it!! 😊😊

The bird beaks smell much better once ground up real fine. They work great for sand blasting! 😂🤣😂
These were nice cars, with some tuning, were also quick
VGG is awesome every time, Derek is like your big brother that never stop the funny lines. At least this time he also made other lines, the brakes ones.😝

That's awesome you're in my State 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 never heard of that car before. Very cool tho
Derick on motor trend. Soooo good. Cc any believe I was subscribed already to motor trend I thought it was already. 😮
