I'm a high school automotive Instructor in Iowa, we have a variety of auto classes in our school that end up with a Restoration project. We have watched a few of your videos and had a great time discussing the projects you're working with. Student really like your attitude even when they think you might go off. Thank you for showing that just because it's difficult doesn't mean you have to fly off the handle (verbally)... If you know what I mean. Alot of them have mentioned how they are watching all of your videos as they like them- have their parent watching too. Thank you for promoting the auto recovery/restoration/Rattle can rebuild- Helps keep the young ones interested. FYI I am hooked, thanks again.

Trying to fix my vehicle with myself and a friend right now. Out of our element a little bit, but hopefully we'll figure it out. Also, side note, love that spark plug.

I have many problems from my service days and have to do physical therapy 2-3 days a week to last another year! While doing these stupid exercise I can’t think of a better way than watching VGG (no offense)but I’ve exhausted most of your shows!

You have the right idea as far as I am concerned and I feel like others would be inclined to agree because you have did this a time or ten. Love seeing you resurrect this Duster. In 1973 my family moved from Indiana to Phoenix Arizona. Right before we moved, my dad bought a second car, because the entire family with luggage, wouldn't fit in our other car. The new car was a 1973 Plymouth Duster. It was a root beer color, which would look great on your project. It also had gold pinstripes that followed the body curve. I was 16 and had just gotten my driver's license. I was assigned driving duties for the Duster, and the three day trip. It was a great experience for me, except that it was August and the Duster didn't have AC. Watching this video brought back some great memories.

You are the "American Dream". Your crazy sayings. Awesome personality. Bring people happiness. Why? Because u are what America stands for. Your morals. Your family, that we are thankful you share with us. You are a blue collar regular guy. Who made his claim to the American dream. By being him self, and doing what he loves! We are all great full for the journey, brotha.

Great stuff all the way around. I grew up helping and watching my brother work on his cars and there was a lot of junkyard parts shopping for repairs on twisted driveshafts and diffs with slung teeth over the years. This channel brings back memories….his calm attitude during repairs. He’s still turning wrenches for a living 45 years later.

    Definitely black interior.
Also, I am ready for you to do another ski boat ‘will it run’ with your brother.
Another idea, be cool to see you do a video finding an old KZ1000 or KZ650 in a barn/garage and getting it to run. Still plenty of parts available for them.

I am a veteran and I love this build because my first car was a Red 1974 Duster with a Slant six and manual 3 speed on the floor. I always dreamed of switching it to a V8. Until I rolled it that is. :( Anyway I work as an industrial mechanic, and I am always looking for short-sleeved button-down front mechanic shirts. I love the 1935 Truck shirt. I can't buy it till I can get back to work, which will hopefully be soon. I have been off work on disability for back problems since early August. I had surgery and am almost healed and ready to return to work hopefully. Good thing too cause bills are starting to get behind. Anyway, I am hoping you guys will come out with more short sleeve mechanic shirts because I am always looking for cool ones to wear at work. Most of the ones I have are just single color with no designs which I like but something like the 35 Truck one is really cool as well. I also like the ones you wear with the VGG American Flag Images on them.

The engine is a Movy Derek! Also, 15 inch wheels all around. So much easier on a feller or fellet when putting new tires on your rig and rotating them. Black on gold will look awesome in the Duster. My uncle had a gold Duster or Demon in the 70's with black interior, good choice there feller!!

This should turn out to be a really cool build! I think you should definitely do black interior! For the wheels, I would go with 15’s all around, with a staggered wheel offset front/rear! Excited about this one!

  • @timhartsock9942

What a unique engine build!! I am going to go against the crowd here and say the gold interior. The brightness of that interior is part of what makes it look like a Duster. I think it's the original character of this particular car. 15's on back and 14's on front would be just the right stance for this. Learned so much from your videos while being very entertained. Thanks for what you do.

Lifetime member of the DAV here. Love how you help the community. I just bought two of the spark plugs and some other stuff. My dad was a Mopar guy and worked at Walt’s Dodge in Plainfield, Ind. He always bought the newest and fastest every year so he never owned a Duster, lol but his interiors were always black except his 71 Challenger Indy 500 pace car which was white interior. So I’m voting for all black interior in honor of my dad and “The Dodge Boys”

I think definitely go with 15s on the front just for the sake of tire options. Everybody does black interior probably because it looks the best but maybe add a SMALL gold accent to pay homage to the factory color.

On the Duster, well I’ll be dippped, sorry I couldn’t resist. I would go Black interior with gold accents. Wheels I would go with the same size all around. 14’s are getting hard to come by. Cant wait to see how this build turns out, it will be an awesome rig. I was shopping as soon as I saw the video!! God bless you and your family.

DUDE Derick Love your show's my 2nd car / 1st muscle car was a bright yellow 75 Duster 225 slant 6, 3 speed overdrive manual with a cool reverse light that came on as R was left and up. So many memories made in that car. Broke many rear ends with that after I rebuilt that slant 6, 60 over, big cam, 4 bbl and headers with my Grandpa watching over me, 1st engine build as well as 1st front end w/upgrades later. Taught me a lot, way before UA-cam though so just had a Big Chiltons manual to dig through.
