I will never understand why the fuck Van Halen were opening for Bon Jovi during this time...never. VH were still massive and shouldn't have been opening for anyone. I lost track of Bon Jovi after "Slippery" came out. Were they that huge in '95?
Van Halen was and always will be with Roth. If you got kicked out of your family and another guy was brought in, would it be the same family, no it wouldn't. You can't replace a family member and expect it to be original, authentic and true to the birth right. Van Hagar rode on the coat tails of Roth as in 1984 was the breakthrough Roth era launch into true stardom. You cant change that no matter who you like or what you say.
So on that logic, every band that has ever changed a member, is no longer that band anymore, and should just quit??? You made yourself sound a bit dumb........just saying....PLUS, Sammy is a FAR BETTER singer than Roth. And I'm a big DLR fan.
I grew to appreciate 5150. It's a good album. OU812 was very good despite what the bozo critics say. F.U.C.K had some decent songs in addition to great guitar work. Balance was so-so but the Human's Being song might be the best Eddie/Sammy collaboration

Because Vanessa Warwick (the interviewer) is English and Headbangers Ball was an English spoken programme, for a start.
