      @@fiquitoyunque The Dutch are used to learning other languages, and are often irritated by English speakers who visit their country and make no effort to learn theirs. Hence Dave getting a passive aggressive response when he marches up to strangers talking loudly and rudely to them in American English. Way I look at it, not a lot has changed. Ed has passed away sure, but I listened to VH every day anyway. EVH gave us his music, his best playing was always effervescent and fun. Even his dark days were full of expression and meaning. Things like that are timeless, and an indelible mark is left on the soul of the listener. Ed is now just in a different form, but we are lucky to have the spirit of his music captured forever. RIP EVH - your genius is appreciated.

Depends what you mean by British, I have been to Edinburgh in the 90’s and nothing conservative about Leith so I will assume you mean the English. They are until music starts after which they are probably the fans who cut loose the most. I used to go to a club in one of the most conservative cities and they would have everything on from Hatebreed to NOFX to Reel Big Fish to local bands. You could see the sweat running down the walls. I said that is gonna be one of the biggest bands in the world. Remember, we'd been subjected to several years of disco and that horrible 70's A.M (SUPERSTARS OF THE 70'S) ... Haha. False assumptions. I grew up with Van Halen and DLR. I've always loved the group and I love the man. I enjoy watching interviews with DLR because he's extremely intelligent, witty and entertaining. I'm also more than a decent musician and singer. Finally, I'm obviously not on DLR's level but I've had more than my share of pussy since my teens and even now at 50! Now, some assumptions about you. You lack a sense of humour. You have no musical ear. You're not satisfied with your life and have a romanticised nostalgia for your youth. You think everything was better before. You have an obvious disdain for millenials yet you don't set a good example. Calling someone you don't know an asshole on the Internet is not a sign of a mature adult.

      Your assumptions are all wrong. I'm 50 yrs old, have travelled the world, and learned to speak several foreign languages. I love David Lee Roth but I don't worship him as some being beyond criticism or being the object of humor when deserved. As a musician, I find what he's doing in Vegas rather embarrassing. If I had the chance to sing in Vegas I would only do it if my voice was up to it. He's awesome but he's come to confuse entertainment with music. Finally, I'm sorry that you lack a sense of humor, and whatever your age, I find your overly aggressive comment towards me to be sad and pathetic.

      Late 90s. After that it was all about being "real" and humble. Grunge pretty much scraped away the entertainment-creme of the cookie and it never got back. The only ones behaving like this today is Steel Panther and The Darkness. And they are ironic and satirical because millennials would never allow them to be like that unless it was a joke. I`m not a boomer but damn those millennials have really painted the world grey.

      There`s a large gap between this and when Eddie lost control over the booze dude. At this point they were drinking a lot but wasn`t so affected by it. But in the late 80s, it started to wear down Eddie. Sammy had probably 3-4 good years with Van Halen until it went south.

      @@roaringlion1 I didn`t know him personally so I don` t know how he was to people around him in 1981. Do you? But I know that it got out of control around 1990 and started to affect his public appearances. My point is that you put the time between 1981 to 1996 in one basket, and that`s not only 15 years in total but includes 2 more albums with Dave and 4 with Sammy until he had enough.

    • @eltoro969
      @eltoro969 4 роки тому +2

      @@roaringlion1 IBTW I have seen interviews with Eddie from the time he started getting out of control and I guess he controlled his drinking and behaviour earlier, but stopped caring at that point. So if he was like that the whole time with Dave I agree he had to be a problem, but THE problem? I guess Dave was hard to handle on tour and got on their nerve too so it`s probably a combination of two egos clashing and making it miserable for everyone.
