The link to Van Halen was because they moved as teens to the US, later becoming legends, and in my experience families go one of 2 ways embrace the host country and forget the past or speak their own language but behind closed doors. Way I look at it, not a lot has changed. Ed has passed away sure, but I listened to VH every day anyway. EVH gave us his music, his best playing was always effervescent and fun. Even his dark days were full of expression and meaning. Things like that are timeless, and an indelible mark is left on the soul of the listener. Ed is now just in a different form, but we are lucky to have the spirit of his music captured forever. RIP EVH - your genius is appreciated.

I saw them not long after this in Birmingham Alabama. I was 15 years old and it was the Diver Down tour.Man they freakin brought the roof down that night. I rank ZZ Top Eliminator tour as the best concert i have ever seen. Van Halen Diver Down is a very close second. And I have been to lot of great concerts over the years

I said that is gonna be one of the biggest bands in the world. Remember, we'd been subjected to several years of disco and that horrible 70's A.M (SUPERSTARS OF THE 70'S) ... And the bands that we loved that were making Rock & Roll .... Zeppelin, Sabbath, Deep Purple, etc ... weren't making that kind of rock that you could move to. Eddie Van Halen wrote music that you could rock to.

It's so fun to watch a band when they are young having so much fun. VH will always be my favorite band. Some people it is the Stones or The Who or Zeppelin. For me, it is, has been, and always will be Van Halen!

These Guys are the Kings of Rock, they were fabulous musicians and took rock star business as a fun comedy act. While other rock stars couldn’t play shit compared to them and acted like they thought they were Rock stars. These Guys were the real deal. While other rock stars were acting like king shit like it’s a big deal, they should learn from Van Halen because being a rock star is having fun not taking it seriously.
