Happy New Year everyone! I hope you will enjoy the video. This is my first full build, and I also used a completely new recording set up, so forgive me if some footage is not up to par! Let me know if you have any questions.

Happy new year! I cant wait to watch and learn some new techniques. I’ve already learned a lot about brush painting gunpla from your vids, which i definitely enjoy more than airbrushing

Thank you! It’s actually not so hard to do. I made a tutorial about it, if you’re interested.

Quality video and work as per usual, amazing how a few subtle tweaks, when done properly, can transform an HG kit.

I am very thankful I got an airbrush. I always sucked at hand painting. Never had the patience to wait for coats to dry and I'd always end up with brush marks.
I really like how you mix two shades of blue on the armour plates. I'm planning on redoing my MG MkII. It was the first MG kit I ever built and it is more than a little rough. I already disassembled it and stripped the (bad) gloss coat I gave it. It's been sitting in a container as I finish my current project (Sazabi VerKa) I may take a few things from this video when I finally get around to painting it.

I like to add some depth with different shades of colors, I think helps a lot!

Great video as always, can’t wait to see what else you do in this new year also would love to see some kind of weathering tutorial as I don’t believe you’ve done one yet. One question for you, everytime I use a cotton swab or a qtip whatever you call them they always end up frizzled and hard to use but I always see yours are uniform is there anything you do with them to keep them that way?

      Thank you!
The weathering tutorials will come in 2025, don't worry!
Regarding the swab I use the secret power of editing lol, there is no way to avoid ruining them... I just record with a presentable one, but I go trough a decent amount of them each video.

Amazing video as always :) I do have a few questions, namely is there anything you do to protect the metallic shine on the metallic paints when you flat topcoat? I recently finished a paint project and I tried out a bit of gunmetal which looked really nice, but it lost its sheen when I topcoated it. Do you have any advice to keep it shinier? Maybe a gloss/semi-gloss topcoat would be better?
Also, where do you get your pla plating? I've been looking online for some and I can't seem to find any store that has it.
Your videos are really motivating and inspiring, makes me want to do more painting projects!

      Thank you so much.
I honestly like the tone down effect of the flat topcoat on my metallic colors. If you want to keep the shininess, you have two options. The first is using a gloss or semi-gloss coating, but I am not a huge fan of the final result (personal opinion). The other is switching to metal markers. The ones from Ray Studio, for example, are pretty scratch resistant and, paying a bit of attention, won't get ruined easily. They can be applied with brushes too and you can do panel lining with acrylic on top without worries.
For the pla plates, I used the ones from Dspiae, you can check their shop if they deliver to your location: dspiaestore.com/products/dspiae-pc-gy-plastic-plate-for-model-customization-diy-parts?srsltid=AfmBOor22FuVd6Ls1_BB_AVtbNG5V0ElHueL89jNwGShXjiuUABPm7JL
Let me know if anything is unclear!

Great video and to do so much custom for HG is great inspiration! For hand painting with acrylics are normal artist grade acrylic paints okay or specific model painting acrylics the only way to go?

    • @TeaandGunpla
      @TeaandGunpla  19 днів тому

Thank you! You can use any brand of acrylics you want. The ones for models, like the brand I am using, are usually already thinned, to minimize the strake marks.
