I believe that the bits that ping off go so fast they disappear into another dimension. I think there is a dimension somewhere full of bits of kits we have all lost. 😁
When cutting parts from the sprue, hold the part itself in place and cut the sprue free. The sprue isn't going to go far, and you don't lose the piece. Source: 50 years worth of building plastic kits.
I just took a stroll down memory lane, so to speak. After watching this amazing video, i went back and watched your very first UA-cam video. Then i started scrolling from your first to your latest in your videos list. Bro you have made so much improvement in ALL areas of your content. You sir are an amazing artist. Being able to literally follow your timeline of videos thereby watching you improve your content in real time is just off the chain! Thank you so much for sharing your passions with us. I for one truly appreciate it.
As a long time fan of your Imaginary Wild West series, you have no idea how hyped I was when you started doing Gundam stuff. Building Bandai kits is probably my favorite hobby and seeing you take these kits above and beyond has been a huge inspiration! Great work!
This build reminds me with great clarity how much thoughtfulness, creativity, care, professionalism and effort goes into each video. I love everything about this! Thanks Boylei!
I wish the writers and artists who made that scene could see this video, and understand how much they impacted us with this anime. Just a simple fight scene that probably felt just like any other to them inspired this entire project, that's awesome
Phenomenal work my man! It's really awesome to learn some new techniques for putting dioramas like these together. As a gunpla fan, you deserve nothing less than a tip of the hat and a double thumbs up 👍! Can't wait for the next Gundam diorama.
I like the fact that you build so many different types of things. You don’t limit yourself too a single type or period of history. A great video. A hint when removing small pieces from the sprue, take a pice of masking tape to hold it in place. To hold it cut one anchor point free from the sprue then tape part to sprue then cut the part free no more flying small key parts.
Always love seeing this channel drift back to Gundam stuff, it was your videos that inspired me to take my hobby further than just snapping plastic together. Thanks!
Small tip as a prop maker for masking/taping: First, before you apply it, put in on your pant leg or similar. This allows it to collect a bit of dust etc on it and makes it less sticky (i know, sounds counter-productive) and risk ripping paint off. If you want to not have the risk of feathering with the airbrush or bleeding, you can spray a bit of varnish over it before you paint. Second, when peeling the paint off, do it at a 45-90° angle from the direction of the tape. NEVER peel upwards because thats exactly how you tear off paint. The side motion allows the paint to "grip" better on the surface and has less risk of peeling off with the tape on it. The fiber sparks really add a lot, it was a good choice to put them it i think!
If you like Real Grade kits then you could get the RG Hi Nu Gundam, RG Sazabi, or any of the RG Evangelion kits! You could most likely find them at a Hobby Town store!
Nice, I’ve opened my first ever Gundam kit, not assembled yet but I also plan to paint it. Glad to know the assembly will be smooth, it looked like many parts at first glance. Truly, a fan of yours
To avoid cracks with the panel line, try not to add a big blob and be careful if the paint pools or runs inside the model and dab the excess right away. Awesome Work!
if you don't want to hold the piece when clipping (or it's small and delicate) you can use a bit of blu-tack to stick it to the sprue whilst you clip it. i've found that stops things from flying away as much
Was reassembling a Ruger mark 2 bolt after cleaning. Extractor plunger took a trip when I slipped installing the extractor. Found the spring in about 5 minutes near where I heard impact, spent 2 hours looking for the plunger. Ordered a new one, annoyed because the plunger cost a Lincoln and shipping was a Hamilton. 4 years later I found the plunger, it was nowhere near where the spring was. It had landed on a cheap book shelf and rolled between the shelf and the warped cardboard backing. Lesson I learned was do this sort of stuff inside a ziplock (clear) bag.
I love the red frame Astray, it was one of my favorite Gundams and favorite manga series so it was a real blast from the past to see it pop up here! Love how the diorama came out! I've never tried one of these Real Grade models before but I think the red Astray would be a great starting point, I'll have to check it out.
I love your builds and watch all of your videos. I feel like the bases are often too small and make the scene feel cramped, though I would also imagine making numerous dioramas takes up a lot of space too! I just feel (if space allowed) more of an edge around the perimeter of the base would serve as a border, frame the scene nicely and add to the composition of the piece. Love from Australia.
@Boylei A watercolorist's tip for the tape: a gentle hair dryer helps loosen the tape for easy removal. Of course, I have no idea if that would interfere with diorama things.
Gundam figures are always so cool to watch being assembled. My only gripe with them, if you can even call it that, is that it seems like so many of them don't give you posable hands. You get a selection of preset hands already in certain poses or, in some cases, just one of each hand that can't even open. Not like I'd be building any of these myself(money is in short supply for me), but it would be nice to see them give more models flexible and posable hands.
I find this channel some months ago, and I watched all the old videos. I finished recently, and now I know, how painfully long it is to wait a week(s) for the next one...
Such a great affect, with those flexible LED filaments, and adding the Fiber Optic pieces is sheer genius. Too bad you couldn't add a slight glow to the very cutting edge of the sword as well. I think I would have also added some pits of tiny wires to the inside to show the guts of the air platform being sliced through as well, but you have to draw the line somewhere and where you did as perfectly fine! Keep up the awesome work my friend, it's always nice to have a bit of inspiration for modelling when you feel like you need to take a rest from it, and then watch one of your videos and get all booted up again for some more work. I'm in the process of building a 1956 Ford F-100 pickup, and while I haven't fully assembled it just yet, I aim to but I am in a bit of a quandary, do I build it according to original, or do I want to make it a Resto-mod, and update the interior and mechanicals and rims as well as alter the ride height. Decisions, decisions, I guess I'll have to see what kind of aftermarket pieces I can find in the scale to do the changing. Thanks as always for the work you do, and for the inspiration you bring to us!!
The fiber optic sparks are such an amazing look for this. I need to figure out where to use this. Right off the top of my head, of course it would work well for a Doctor Strange display. But I would much rather use it for an action shot somewhat similar to how you did it here.
I believe that the bits that ping off go so fast they disappear into another dimension. I think there is a dimension somewhere full of bits of kits we have all lost. 😁
That is where the sock elves bring all my left side socks!
It's the same with socks in the laundry. But would also explain the stray greeblies landing in my bits box.
just imagine the kitbash you could do in that dimension
@@Cashatoo it's probably be something very small, or made of a billion pieces considering the average size of the ejected bits
Interplanar kit bashing!?

I love how dynamic the fiber optic sparks make it
What a GREAT idea using a stiff edge to apply the metallic paint. Why had I never thought of that. Amazing tip for my toolbox! Thank You!!
that's why it's a good idea to watch and learn from others. can't stay isolated., stay inspired instead. Build ,, build , build. 8D
@@rustythecrown9317 Always learning from others, but the brain only can contain so many good tips!
@@stu3379 True... a good idea is a good idea. Keep building. 👍

I think the street base was the sleeper star of this video. I love how gritty and textured it looks, gives it that 90s anime feel.
hate to say it but yeah that street was really good

You can make the fiber optics side glowing by sanding them
This build reminds me with great clarity how much thoughtfulness, creativity, care, professionalism and effort goes into each video. I love everything about this!

Woooooow, that spark effect from the fiber optic strands turned out so awesome! :)
I wish the writers and artists who made that scene could see this video, and understand how much they impacted us with this anime. Just a simple fight scene that probably felt just like any other to them inspired this entire project, that's awesome
"Rules of Nature" kicks in.
Amazing!
One of this MS form can literally holding space ship sized katana to be exact 150 METERS
So much great stuff going on in this diorama! The fibers took it to the next level, awesome!
Welcome Back. Just in time for ALL the Snow!! Missed your Art Work! So I went back while being Snowed in and Watched some oldies but goodies of yours!
Phenomenal work my man! It's really awesome to learn some new techniques for putting dioramas like these together. As a gunpla fan, you deserve nothing less than a tip of the hat and a double thumbs up 👍! Can't wait for the next Gundam diorama.
The lights and fiber optic bits really gives a dynamic look to the model! Love it!

Bro lost the face part and said: "F*** it, I'll make one myself" is enough for me to give this video a like😂
I honestly didn’t expect the wire sparks to look so PERFECT when I saw u make them. Well done man
Always love seeing this channel drift back to Gundam stuff, it was your videos that inspired me to take my hobby further than just snapping plastic together. Thanks!
Masterful composition and construction; it truly looks like a time-stopped instant of a battle.
Wow! That's dead on. The fiber optic "spray" coming off the top really seals in the effect.
This is the video I've been waiting for!! BOYLEI YOU KILLED IT
Glad to see you back!!! I hope you enjoyed your vacation.
I recently just put together my first model ever. It was a Gundam and holy cow it was so much fun. I'm definitely hooked now. Thanks for the inspo!!!
Your channel is what got me into Gunpla and now I’m obsessed!
So good to have you back Boylei! hope your break was restful! Awesome job as always! The end product is breathtaking!
The chip affect was so cool! Love the other little details as well
Absolutely spectacular

Love this, the lighting effect is great!
Man I Love your work with Gunpla, I always save a few vids to watch later but I gotta watch these right away, amazing work!
This is literally the coolest diorama I have ever witnessed.
That’s awesome. I’d love to be able to do this kind of work on model kits. Thanks for sharing.
RULES OF NATURE!!!

My man! Bringing back the Gunpla! This is epic
You killed it 🤔 bring some light to the Blade itself to give a true representation of a hot blade going through the ship 😎
So happy to see you working on more gundam
Ohhhhhh I like it! Your first Gundam video, was one of the first one's I watched of your's.
The red frame was such a fun build for me.

simply THE BEST diorama you've ever did haha so good

If the fiber optic wires can withstand a soft sanding, they will become less transparent and I bet they will glow all the way. Great video. Again.
Your imagination is the best kit you can bash ..... it is you only barrier ❤️🤘🔥👍 keep up those projects all 💪
For tiny parts like that I stick a bit of blu tack on the opposite side to keep it in place
@Boylei A watercolorist's tip for the tape: a gentle hair dryer helps loosen the tape for easy removal. Of course, I have no idea if that would interfere with diorama things.
That is mind blowingly awesome. It's like there is nothing you can't make into an amazing diorama. 👏👏👏👍👍👍🙂

The ether has claimed another piece of a model.
Really dynamic and awesome diorama!!! 😊😊😊
Awesome to see you back. I missed your channel.
Beautiful work.

Very cool diorama, fibre otic filaments definitely add a lot to it.
Astray Red Frame is in my collection too and I love it.

the carpet monster ate that one!
Now this is Boylei Gundam Time
Thank you again for your videos ......and for the temptation to gather up more piles of plastic opportunity in the Gundam Universe.
Incredibly cool
Awesome! Now we need a diorama no one has ever done before. RX-78-2 Gundam vs Mechagodzilla from Ready Player One Movie.
