Tropical Storm Claudette Part I • SHELLING Navarre Beach...
Living in the Sunshine State has many benefits: palm trees, seafood, and sandy beaches. However, periodically we have to deal with tropical storms and hurricanes. While these storms sometimes lead to widespread damage, in their wake they sometimes cover the beaches with seashells. When the reports of a possible system developing in the western Gulf emerged, many eyes turned towards the projected landfall and where the heaviest rain would be. Since Florida's Panhandle was forecasted to be on the eastern side of the storm we all knew that meant rain, and winds whipping up the surf. In other words, wait out the storm and go shelling.
Nestled between Fort Walton Beach and Pensacola Beach, Navarre Beach offers a quiet setting on the sugar-white sands of the Emerald Coast. Easily accessed by both plane and vehicle, a trip to Navarre Beach is surely one that y'all will want to make.
