    Your video was a life saver I inherited this same model from my mother when she passed away, along with a ton of other stuff and she kept the instructions for everything but my father threw them all away so your video helped me figure out how I can use this and still keep it. Thank you so much! My Mom use this all the time.

    My father in law gave me this a few weeks back because he wasn't using it but I didn't get the owners manual. Thank you for the video.

    The only thing I wish you would have added to make the video/review perfect is a view of what the ice looks like it would have been nice to see a side by side shot of small to large size.

    I’ve had the same red igloo red icemaker for about a year now and it has worked great, fantastic & I clean it regularly until last night for some reason it stopped working so I’m trying to UA-cam and get some suggestions & advice on why? 🤔😭😩

    • @luvdacurvyones
      @luvdacurvyones 6 років тому

      Truth Jones have you tried downloading the igloo app on your phone? Once you get that app you can connect to your ice maker through Bluetooth. Once connected you'll have to readjust the capillary tube and reboot the thermal expansion valve. Once this is done it should work just fine.

    Good review. I am a happy ice eater.lol
    Instead on purchasing ice bags frequently, I decided to get this unit in silver because I am still undecided about the new color scheme that I am going to go with in my kitchen. Anyhoo, the set up was easy after I clelaned the unit and did a one time complete run of ice(flushing). I then grabbed a piece of the second round ice and crunched away. Not all ice crunches the same folks. I recommend this product. I look forward to using this often.

      Ty Wilson So glad you like this machine. I wish mine was silver. I do not like red. Lol Ah well..... I agree, not all ice crunches the same. 😊

    Does this need to be cleaned first? by running water through it before using?

    • @EmilySTheCountryCook

      Yes. I believe we ran it through a couple times just to make sure it was clean and clear. :)

      I have never had to descale mine. I'm honestly not sure how to do it. I'll look into it and see if there are any type of instructions.

      Every few months or so I have to clean my igloo out. It gets slimmy and has to be cleaned out. I use paper-toweling and wipe it
      Out.

    Only use NON FILTERED tap water if you want a disposable portable ice maker... Any filter pitcher will help with a variety of issues. For sanitation purposes clean the front area every week to two weeks, depending on use to prevent molding. dry throughly. I have had my ice chest (an Emerson) for 2 years. I love it and use it often.

    I just got a machine from QVC that looks just like yours and it has S and L settings but I get the same size 'cubes' despite the setting. It is supposed to make S 1" cubes and L 3" cubes but it only makes the 1" cubes. Your machine set on L is only making S cubes. Don't believe me? Try using it on the S setting!! Nonetheless, it's a great little machine and kicks out some serious ice!

    • @EmilySTheCountryCook
      @EmilySTheCountryCook  7 років тому +2

      Yeah, the small and large aren't much different at all. I really love the machine and the ice size doesn't bother me much. lol Thank you for watching and commenting!!

    The first thing to Snap & Break is the White Paddle that scoop's the ice into the bucket. This my personal opinion not (Emily's) The Igloo comp, failed in not making this part that broke Metal The ice maker makes ice even with Defective Part's
