Last week, a video went viral of Capitol police office Eugene Goodman being chased up the stairs by a crowd of pro-Trump rioters during the attack on the U.S. Capitol. Goodman knew that the floor of the Senate Chamber had not been secured yet, so he intentionally provoked the rioters into chasing him and then led them away from the chamber, giving senators time to evacuate safely. Let’s give a round of applause to this hero in a new segment called, “Hero of the Week!”

Officer Eugene Goodman is an actual hero. This guy is amazing, for all the reasons Amber states, but also because he's just awesome.

I dont think we fully grasped the impact of Officer Goodman's heroic ruse until this segment. I had a moment of somberness when Amber talked about our responsibility and ancestors building this country.
He should be given the Medal of Freedom.

It's been suggested that Eugene Goodman should get the Congressional Gold Medal, which is supposedly equal with the Presidential Medal of Freedom, but is much more meaningful because it's never been awarded by Trump. I have no doubt that he will get it! And I really hope that his example will teach other cops to use their brains instead of their guns.
