As you all know, Amber hosts her own show. And she’s also a writer for the show, “Late Night with Seth Meyers.” And then recently, she thought to herself, “I’m not busy enough!” So, she wrote a book with her big sister Lacey, and it’s called, “You’ll Never Believe What Happened to Lacey: Crazy Stories About Racism.” Lacey lives in Omaha, Nebraska, where they both grew up, and people are always saying very crazy racist things to her. So, they wrote them all down, and put them in this book. And guess what? Lacey is here in the studio tonight to talk about it!

I picked up "The funny one," and "The dry funny one." Lacy is being serious about a serious subject, but she also snuck some stealth humor in there. Amber lets you know she's kidding, because she's always kidding. Lacy had me laughing a couple times too.

If I met Lacey under normal circumstances and didn't already know she was Amber's sister I would wonder why she talked just like her. Seeing them together I love the physical family resemblance. But their voice inflection and mannerisms make them seem like twins. I love them both!

I've been listening to the audiobook, and I can't imagine a better way to read this book. There's so much giggling, and even a little singing! It's somehow hilarious and horrifying and thought-provoking and sweet, all at once. Hooray, Amber & Lacey!! I love this book.

Whoever did the set design, lighting, and wardrobe hit this one out of the ballpark. Super sophisticated and beautiful. Seems an appropriate setting for Amber’s razor wit.

I love the relationship! It reminds me of my own sisters lol once one of my sister's pretended to quietly cry in front of me bc of something I did and I said "Aww, don't cry... quietly. You know I love it when I can hear you crying." She gave me the nastiest glare and left me alone and it fueled me for days.
I hope you do an inaugural celebration since I can't attend it in person (COVID-19).
Documenting these things definitely helps. I was threatened with lynching at work. Writing/talking about it helps cope.
