Hey man I'm 20 and I'm balding, ever since I was 16 I had thin corners and pretty much all men in my family are bald so I knew it was coming but finding your channel has been a blessing, thank you very much, you've made me smile and altough my hairloss isn't shave worthy yet when the time comes I hope to send you a video shaving it off for good. Much love
Love the timing! I ordered a Series 9 Pro+ this Saturday before seeing you uploaded a video confirming it's the best overall shaver! :) 20 days left to finally join the Bald Man Club! Thank you for all the positivity you bring to your channel. Your videos helped me embrace my own hair loss, and I’ve decided to shave my head at the end of this month. Your mindset really made a difference, and I hope you keep inspiring others like me. Keep up the great work!
I completely went bald back in 2021 and would still go to the barbershop twice a week for a shave and beard trim up until I saw your original video about how “The Rock” keeps his head bald sometime in early 2022. I quit going to the barbershop and purchased the Series 9 from Amazon on July 29th, 2022. Ever since, I shaved my head daily and have been proud of the purchase that you recommended. Yes, maybe pricey for some but you pay for nothing but the best and you get as close as to a razor. Anyone wondering, I am unable to use razors due to hair type. The razor cartridge lasted until December 23, 2023 when I noticed that it wasn’t getting as close than before which Braun themselves says to replace it every 18 months. I did get the complete setup with the cleaning station. The Cleaning refills for me lasted about a year as well. I get the 10 count. I highly recommended the Braun Series 9. Great videos.
I got the skullshaver pitbull pro for $75 from Walmart and it's absolutely killer and it's so easy to clean and delivers a pretty close shave. I have thick hair so unless I'm doing a razor shave I'm not going to get anything too close, but since I can use it in the shower it takes me about 90 secs to 2 mins. Best part is that I can replace the individual blades with the shaver when needed!
I've used the Philips QC 5580/32 for 15 years that did the job very well for me. Sadly they stopped making that model. They still sell some parts for it but not the whole headgroomer machine itself. Mine is going to die this year for sure after 10 year usage...the silver/black colored one. I had the red/black colored one first for about 5 years that I lost on a vacation. Now I'm here to find out what I should give a try if mine finally gives out.
The DOAO head shaver is amazing it cuts so close and it cuts really quick especially after you dried off after a shower and it's so comfortable to use.... I couldn't spend hundreds of pounds on a Braun head shaver when the DOAO is just as good
I just got the DOAO and tried it first time dry at night. My skin is sensitive and my head went red but was fine by the morning. Second time I tried it 2 days later I used shaving oil. 2-3 drops, left it for couple mins and not one red mark or any skin irritations. I was amazed how well shaving oil works. The DOAO is really good. Shaves really good and quickly. Battery is very good. After two shaves I have 89% battery left. Very easy to clean. So glad I got it. I was going to go for Remington RX7 but my brother has it and the DOAO is just as good if not better.
Philips 3000 Series is pretty good. I use it for details that my Remington RX7 is too big for or cant take in. Used it in the past to shave my whole head daily with good results.
I really think this is suggestive. I’ve had 2 Braun Series 9 shavers and the shaves were never really good. It took a lot of pass and irritation to get to a decent look. Whereas I have a Skull Shaver platinum and it shaves very well and gives me a real close shave. I do agree that a lot of these companies are just minor adjustments to one another. Nothing is better than wet razor shaving overall if you can avoid a bloody mess. I have moments where I do well a moments when my head looks like a crime scene. I ultimately went back to my Skull Shaver and pretty please with its longevity.
Bought the Skull Palm shaver for $50 on sale. Also a 18500 3.7v 2000mah battery and replaced the battery in the unit which was a 600mah No kidding, one charge lasts 3 months and it's used every day for round 5 mins. New replacement blades cost $4 and last a year
I recently bought the manscape dome shaver pro. It’s very similar to the Remington. Decent price very comfortable to use and a very close shave. I’d recommend
Bruv! Thanks for your legit and unbiased opinion on those head shavers, they're really help. Checking stuff online and only reading reviews doesn't help one to get a full understanding of the device. Was gonna go for that DOAO shit but thanks to your video imma stick to a more reputed brand like Remington.
I have had a couple of those cheap Amazon Electric shaver and now got the BaByliss Titanium foil as a Christmas gift. The cheaper ones give you a very good shave and are usually very quick and comfortable, but the blades don't last as much, but the cool thing is that most of them have universal replacement blades (so they are easy to find) and some of these razors have USB 3.0 charging cables. To make the blades last more i think it's better to clean them with the brush than with water, because the hair that are not washed away will get stickier. About the BaByliss what i can say is that it's a Little slower (but still quite fast) and the shave is very close, for now It gives me 0 irritation despite me having very sensitive skin. I don't think that it's so unconfortable as you say it's just a matter of getting used to it. I have to be careful because even if it does not cause irritation (at least for now) i can get bumps like with a razors because it shaves so close.
100% agree with you. You just can't do better than the Braun Series 9. It's expensive but it's a hell of a present to buy yourself. I did wonder about the new Handyman from Manscaped, as that looks like it's a foil but with the trimmer from the middle of the Braun (and it's that combination that I think let's the S9 do such a good job). Could be a great innovation at the lower end of the budget.
I’ve tried about a dozen electric shavers and I always default to a manual razor and really good gel. The Babyliss PF was ok but you have to make a couple of passes to get a decent shave. For absolute closeness use a disposable 3 or 5 blade manual razor and enjoy the experience…
I buzz off the bulk with my kemei 2299 trimmer which gets super close and was super cheap off aliexpress. Super impressed with it and will absolutely buy another one when this one dies. then go over it again with my braun series 7. Works great for me. Iv been debating trying the rx7 for quite awhile though
i've had the Remington RX7 for a few years. i use it in bath/shower with a soapy lather. it's pretty great. does get dull eventually so got to buy replacement heads
I’ve been interested in getting one, but there’s a good amount of Amazon reviews all having the same issue; some of the blades stop working after a month or two of use. Guess you haven’t run into this issue?
@@TheABElia na i haven't. occasionally the blades will get full of hair/soap which jams the blades and stops the motor. after cleaning the blades out it won't start until i plug the device momentarily into an outlet, but that's about it. i don't see why the blades themselves would stop working other than them getting blunt over time since they are essentially just small rotating disks within the head mechanism. anyway, i rate this shaver
I got that red skin on my nape! I notice, I was cut several times right there you got the red skin, on the nape! And it got worse on my second shave! I got some balls on my skin, and they hurt to the touch! The shaver cut my nape's skin! Any recomendation?
I got the Freebird and loved it at first. It lasted about a month before it died. They sent me a replacement, and it's just not powerful enough. It's nothing like the first one they sent me (before it died). Anything over one day of growth, and it either pulls the hair out instead of cutting it or it gets bogged down and stops running. I'm over it. Time to upgrade.
One shaver that’s never mentioned in these bald videos is the Phillips one blade. I’ve been using the one blade and works great. The only reason I’m searching the market is the replacements blades for one blade are expensive and if your shaving head and face they only last about 2 months before they start becoming slightly uncomfortable. Try it out
@@Baldcafe thanks. Though the video is 6yrs old featuring the old blades and also it’s a standalone review. They are never reviewed in comparison videos.
@@iamashamanama3712Yh I know what you mean. Never used another product to compare it too but I think the one blade does 0.2mm which is the same as what the rx7 states
Im building up to shave for the first time, i think ive got a lot of moles on my scalp, do people go around moles and use something else to cut on and closer?
If the moles are protruding then I’d use the Wahl aquarium blade hair clippers and go around them If the moles are flat like normal skin then I’d use anything 👍
ROSSIFUR 5 in 1 is the best of the lot. Had Pitbull Silver (Broke after 2 months after randomly turning on resulting in the battery having to be taken out due to overheating) and customer service ghosted me. Remmington RX5 was really reliable but didn't have the same quality of the Pitbull. I bought the Rossifur for £20 and it's on par with the Pitbull for £100 and has lasted me 4 months so far.
Do you know if Braun has solved the issue with their power buttons yet? I have the Series 9 Pro and the power button broke within the first 6 months. Seems to be a super common build quality issue according to Reddit and other reviews I’ve found. Any experience with the Hummingbird?
Different product really. The one blade shaves well and gives a good close finish but the shaving heads are expensive and need changing often. I’d probably stick to the Wahl Aqua blade over the Phillips one blade for that reason.
It will be. I’m going to have final details on the @Baldcafe Instagram so make sure you are following there if you can. Just waiting for stickers to be printed at the moment 👍
Appreciate this video. Question how long does the Braun Series 9 head last? Although it may be a little more costly a pack of 16 blades at Costco are about $60 so the Braun may be the best value
Great video with no BS. Got a Remington Rx with the turbo and it's decent with it being either dry or wet shave. Like you said it takes longer then it says to shave but great. You may aswell wetshave then spend a bomb on some of these shavers. Got a leaf 3 blade razor and had that for a couple of years and I'm loving it. Thanks to you. Easy and cheaper to buy blades to snap for it.
i ordered from temu kemei 2093 trimmer and hiena pro shaver.. i like both of them after using kemei trimmer zeroguard i shave with hiena pro shaver it has 3 speeds, 8000 rpm-9000 rpom and 10,000 rpm.. 8000 shaves normnally the head.. both have powerfull battery and engines..
Did you ever try the Remington RX5, and if so how would you compare it against the RX7? The reason I ask is, I've had two RX5s - they shaved perfectly well, but the first one stopped working after about 6 months and the second lasted 4 months. Now I'm torn on whether to try the RX7 and see if it lasts a bit longer, or bite the bullet and pay more for the Braun. I'd value your opinion!
After at least two decades of shaving my head, I have to admit, there is nothing better than a WET shave. For beginners it might be a bumpy challenge (😅😇), but i tried a lot of sorts of electric shavers . . . I rely on my simple soap and a good shaving BLADE! THANK YOU VERY MUCH🤝🤝🤝👩🦲👨🦲👴
What about the Babyliss Pro FXONE Double Foil Shaver? Looks like potentially a step above the titanium Babyliss Pro foil shaver that you recommended. Please let me know what you think or if you’d be willing to review!
Just forked out £100 on the skull shaver pro Gold, and tbh it's over hyped for the money. Honestly its not a lot different to the cheapie one I bought off Amazon. FUUUUUCK I wish I'd found this video before! Looks like I'm getting a Braun series 9 Pro + turbo Supercharged. I like the Babyliss, and I'm pretty sure the barber I visited a couple of years ago (for the first time in 30 years) used one. It was an amazing close shave.
I got the Braun series 9 pulsonic. It's a beast. Shaved my head the last 20 years with it. It's kind of loud. Everyday. Is that why my ears ring? Or is it because I use apple airpods everyday with ANC? I tried the expensive norelco circular blade one and it wasn't as good as the Series 9 by far.
I have the RX7 but it burns my neck all the time, otherwise a good shaver. I bought a Panasonic ES-LV97-K803 which is so great. I read that it shaves closer than Braun series 9 but is more aggressive so maybe it’s not for sensitive skin. @baldcafe, you should try one and compare with Braun. Also much cheaper than the Braun. 👌🏼
Maybe electric is just not for you then-use then a very good razor instead. For me Gillette Fusion 5 is the best for my bald head shave. When the blade is new you can shave the whole head in like 2 minutes. ( Altough, pretty pricy blades, and after like 4-5-6 shavings the blade gets weaker and weaker, so the shaving gets bit slower and slower each time-until you change it to new blades again)
Hi Harry, I received a skull shaver as a gift, now I'm a traditional head shaver with my trusted Leaf Twig. I'm going to give this skull shaver a go, but how do I go about using? Do I trim my hair shorter as I usually grow it for a week & then shave it or go in as is dry or wet my head before giving it a go?
I got a Remington head shaver. When I used it dry, I got irritation on my neck area and the back of my head. Would it make a big difference if I used it with shaving cream and a pre shave? Also with shaving cream would a non-lathering shaving cream be best or does it not matter? appreciate feedback
I have same issue. Very sensitive skin. I first tried dry and made my whole head red and burning. I then got king of shaves sensitive shaving oil from amazon. Rubbed 3-4 drops on my head, left it for 2-3 mins and shaved. Not one red burn or skin irritation. Amazed how well it worked.
I don't get it...these sorts of videos where someone tries to end up praising everyone of the shaver or device, keeping in mind to make every manufacturer happy. After watching this, I had no idea which one is the best one, so I had to do my own research to find out which was better. How about putting the budget aside Which one do you think is THE BEST?
My pleasure. Did balding stop your romantic life or did your reaction to the balding stop it? Don’t take offense to that, that’s not the intent but I hope that question gives you some insight.
@@Baldcafe Both. Balding led to me getting significantly less interest online and in person, which in turn made me view it in a negative light and knocked my confidence. It's a negative feedback loop.
Best application is for covering hair transplant scars. Worst application is to jump from balding and hiding straight to SMP. Also what happens when your 60? I get why people do it but I’ll never not say that just rocking a shaved head is best. Zero other things to consider with the natural approach 👍. That’s what I think in a nutshell
Had a Remington rx7 or something like that. Long strory short died on me after 3months. Went to a razor and never looked back. Those shavers never get as close as a razor.
I bought a pitbull platinum skullshaver and the battery stopped working 3 weeks later , 180€ down the drain , so of you guys want an eletric shaver , go for the babyliss instead imo
Man these companies change lines fast. Either that or there is a big avaliablity difference between the US and UK. The braun 9 pro is the only 9 series avaliable (short of overpriced stock of non-pros on Amazon) and the same babyliss model isnt even avaliable from your link either.

This is a very important question!!!
Have you ever tried philips shaver series 9000, I'm currently doing well with philips shaver series 5000 and I would like to know the difference
Did you review the Brio raze head shaver?
Thanks!!!! Baby and rx7 in shortlist... Pitbull, NOT ANYMORE. ;)
For the price the pitbull is a far superior piece of kit……..as good a cut if not better and can be picked up at a 3rd of the price
I have that remington shaver and Its great, but It always burns my skin on the back of my head
Have you tries the bevel shaver yet?
No not tried that one
Another channel here that specializes in head shaving videos! Would love to connect and collab with you and possibly have an interview livestream!
Got the Remington replacement blades notice they didn’t cut as low as my original one.
No more Leaf clean shave?
No more nothing at the moment as I’ve been filming a barbershop tour. When I wet shave though I still use the leg or twig
I had same issue with my neck, try shaving oil. Leave it in for 2-3 mins and say goodbye to red burns.
@ Thanks! Will definitely try that.
Impressive 😁
I don't seem to find a clipper with guard that is less than 1 mm. The blades directly on my skin gives me irritation. Any suggestions?
Yes I’d trim it as close as you can with clippers first then use the electric shaver 👍
Also I just do dry but I’d say experiment with that and see what you like best
@@Baldcafe cool, thanks for the advice 👌
I have both the Braun and the Skull Shaver Gold Pro and the Skull Shaver blows the Braun AWAY! much, much better head shaver then the Braun
Budget aside the best electric shaver you can get is the Braun series 9 pro+
@@Baldcafe thanks for this
Can you try the babyliss fxone or the Stylecraft instinct
Thank you for the video. Although balding ruined my romantic life.
I disagree with you on the Doao it’s brilliant and cheap battery lasts well and it cuts quite close to
Maybe they upgraded it because I just got one and its amazing.
I’ve used face shavers for my head they are but I’m just more of a wet shaver
so are the pitbull ones crap?
I have the Remington and it tears up my head…😓
You might find clippers more suitable. Something like Wahl Aqua blade or Phillips one blade
Bro, what you think of scalp micro pigmentation
Best application is for covering hair transplant scars. Worst application is to jump from balding and hiding straight to SMP. Also what happens when your 60? I get why people do it but I’ll never not say that just rocking a shaved head is best. Zero other things to consider with the natural approach 👍. That’s what I think in a nutshell
How to clean them ?
I have the remington and it cuts the hell out of the skin towards the back of the head/neck area. :(
ANDIS THE BEST
your capslock is on
Honestly the Babyliss is better than the Andis after trying both
@@Baldcafe i also got bybliss pro and yes bybliss pro does shave closer but andis is so much smoother and doesnt scratch my birthmarks on the head
Had a Remington rx7 or something like that. Long strory short died on me after 3months. Went to a razor and never looked back. Those shavers never get as close as a razor.
woah looked up the price for the braun in nzd and its $500 and the rx7 is $120 thats a massive massive gap
I thought you got smp done?
No never. Why’d you think that?
@ must of been a different bald UA-camr lmao.. my bad.
Thank you for this, it really helped 👍
It's enough at 0 with the car, you don't have to use a blade, I'm an almost bald Romanian cut at 0 with the car
