    side storage door - Pellet strainer-prep tray-Rib racks and whatever else you think we can use.... I am here for all of it and would buy it today

    I would buy the prep tray today. The reason is, I prep the food, and then take it to my basement, where I’ve located the smoker, because I don’t have room on the kitchen counter. plus, it’s just not something I can leave out in the kitchen all the time. Second, I love the idea of the strainer built-in so they don’t have to worry about an independent clip on strainer. I’m always looking for ways to simplify my life and if it is built-in. I don’t have to think about it. As it is now, I take the water, and Burned pellets to the backyard and dump them in the garden. If I could strain them, I would do so first, and then dump the rest in the trash. Last, I recommend adding substantially more recipes to the cookbook to do so, Pinterest has an amazing number of options, but if you all tested them first, and put the best of the best in there, it would be a good thing. I just can’t believe what an amazing product this is. I was considering a Traeger, but I just really didn’t have the room outside in addition to my barbecue. I’ve compared the results from the indoor smoker to my son-in-law‘s barbecue, he makes in his green egg, and although the green egg has, a little bit more flavor, he agrees with me that making this so simple he would use it much more often than what he does now. He started out, making barbecue all the time, but now because of the hassle limits it to just a few times a year. i’ve only had it three months now, but given how simple it is to make barbecued ribs, and how amazing they turn out, I don’t see any reason why I wouldn’t continue to use this product substantially more than an outdoor smoker. I am completely blown away at how easy it is to use and the technology behind itis outstanding. Keep up the good work. Thank you.

  • @talesoftruemetal

    Pellet strainer is a great idea! Just make sure the holes are small enough to strain the finer pellet debris, so that it can be dumped directly into a sink, without eventually clogging the drain. Prep tray is a good idea, better if it can be made to fit inside the machine during cooking.

    Washable semi-rigid silicone drip pan replacement... or silicone molded pan liner at the very least to reduce disposable waste. Also like the pellet strainer idea, been straining it through paper towels so far.

    Adjustable racks! Sometimes you want to smoke a lot of thin cuts, other times a lot of thick cuts, and every now and then a mix of both.

    Definite yes to the prep tray, especially if the design allows for the rack to be easily removed for placement in the smoker (such as a notch to fit my hand under the rack). The pellet strainer would also be a nice addition.

    Prep tray - NO. Side locker - NO. Pellet strainer - YES (particularly if it can stay attached while running smoker so it doesn't get lost). If I were you, I'd spend more time working on 1) making the probe more reliable; 2) increasing smoke level (and ability to run smoke longer than 4 hours, which would need a hopper extender); 3) improving evenness of cooking, perhaps by better convection.

    Love the prep tray idea. But it would be cool to redesign side rails in order to accommodate sliding the prep trays into the smoker. Sometimes I want to smoke multiple proteins and don’t want the juice of one dripping directly on top of the other.

    • @MasterRoshi69
      @MasterRoshi69 4 місяці тому +1

      It's a good idea, but I honestly think it's nearly useless in its current state.
      It needs a way to easily slide the rack on and off the tray.

  • @jaurouze

    Jerky/Dehydrator racks with a tighter grid pattern and simultaneously introducing corresponding jerky/dehydrate functions to the app cooking options. I envision this as a kit that comes with both the racks and new pop-in side rails with many more slots to replace the stock side rails. This would also provide additional flexibility to use these side rails with the stock racks and offer more choices for multiple rack positions in addition to increasing the capacity to smoke or dehydrate much more jerky than the stock 3 rack system currently provides. I think it would greatly enhance the overall functionality of the core smoker.

    • @jaurouze
      @jaurouze 4 місяці тому

      Came back to this video to suggest the same, the stock probe is not only inconvenient but the probe port location and design of both the probe and plug end are so unwieldy in such a tight confined cooking chamber that it begs for a wireless solution. They don't need to design their own, they could just add support for 3rd party solutions as I would love to be able to integrate my meater to control the actual cook rather than just monitoring temps.

    • @jaurouze
      @jaurouze 4 місяці тому +1

      @@typicalaimster same here, the location of the port is bad enough but having to keep the little port door open while trying to navigate around the food on the upper rack is challenging. Just a poor design for the probe overall.

    All great ideas. I particularly like the prep tray as my smoker is not actually in the kitchen (in an adjacent butler pantry). The side storage is neat though I am not sure as necessary. The pellet strainers are a MUST, with me giving a slight edge to Joel's design for just the clip on when emptying. Keep up the fantastic innovation. We use our smoker several times a week whilst out outdoor BBQ grill is primarily collecting dust / pollen these days!

    Like them all but absolutely love the storage drawer/door. The pellet strainer would definitely be useful and help when cleaning out the waste pellets and used water. The prep trays could be useful but I echo the comment below about using them inside the smoker while cooking, like a roasting rack. If you make them a little deeper you could even put veggies in there and have the fat from your protein drip onto the veg and use that as a side dish or as a base for making gravy.

    The side storage is a good idea, I just wonder if it will get hot. The prep test is a good idea, today I am just using a tray for the oven. The strain insert is a great idea. A pellet loader extender is a good idea to look into.

    I dig both the prep trays and the internal strainer. I currently just use a noodle strainer and it's fine, but I like that you can remove the internal strainer and dump, or pour out the top and it's all contained within the cavity with no need to clip something on.

  • @kyleb.841
    @kyleb.841 4 місяці тому +1

    Interesting as always! I just use a mesh colander type strainer and that works just fine. Rinses clean. So I don't think I'd invest in a attachment clip. The side storage for pellets, cool idea, but honestly the smoker is already taking up A LOT of space on my countertop. I just keep my pellets in a Tupperware container that I store in the cabinet above smoker and that works perfect. The prep tray however, I do think I may be interested in purchasing that because my current method (on a large cookie sheet with foil) doesn't really allow easy transfer. Super excited to get my rib rack/ veggie tray and beer can chicken rack! Those ideas were both AWESOME! Always appreciate you guys sharing what you're up to! Keep em' coming please!

    • @bostonbesteats364
      @bostonbesteats364 4 місяці тому

      Beer can rack is kinda pointless, since beer in a can has zero effect on a chicken cooking (old wive's tale), unless positioning the chicken vertically somehow allows for better circulation of air/smoke around the chicken. Anything that increases capacity, like a a rib rack system, would be good, assuming it doesn't just block circulation.
