I laughed like a lunatic while my wife rolled her eyes at me when your bouncing montage started. Love the vids Phil.
hahahahaha 😅
Haha that was epic! The bouncing montage!
Should have just told her... I'm a guy.. I like things that Bounce...
SEE... and then bounce. . . . U fill in the rest
Where can it be baught in usa
I like your sword opening of box. Nice truck. I'm saving for one now.
haha cheers
uk has got it all, best rc community, best airsoft fields, and lots of tea.
I have one of these coming tomorrow with an upgraded overlander 4200mah 2s lipo and charger. this will be my first hobby grade rc and to say i am a little excited (52 years old) would be an understatement :)
Thanks for the great vids Tomley,i have been checking out most of your videos for weeks checking the cars i have had my eye on,but as soon as i saw this one TODAY i ordered it straight away lol
Very nice, I love that they've got a lipo switch. Seems they have an idea of what we want as drivers.
Thank you for a full indepth review plus great off road footage. I am a fan of Traxxas but it is fun to see what the other brands have to offer.
Loving your content and super impressed with your one handed driving while filming. Great location and wonderful shots with the low lying morning sun
Thanks mate. It was a really nice day, although a bit cold!
LOVE your sense of humor!!!
Thanks mate... 😎👌
The “truck bouncing” got me laughing out loud 😂😂😂
and thanks for including the lipo running, I was curious as to how much of a difference it would be.
Great vid👍👍
Nice little RC👍👍
Great video, thanks from Pennsylvania, USA for all the info. 👍
You still didnt bounce it enough!!! Lol jk!! Another great video.
hahahaha
My sons two carnages are both run on 2s. One great thing about FTX is the standard spare parts are dirt cheap, but they also do a pretty comprehensive range of aluminium upgrades for their chassis' if people want to buy a cheap vehicle then upgrade over time. This car looks interesting to me, though I'd probably budget for a full set of aluminium upgrades and a brushless set up, treat it as a project.
This thing is awesome.
I'd for sure get one of these.
Looks to be a great car! Nice parts!! I like a lot this brand, good stuffs!! Bouncy LOL!!! Have a nice day man!!
cheers dude lol
Love your videos my friend . I watch you all the time💪💪💪
This will be a perfect candidate for my castle creations esc and motor combo I have sitting around. Used it for my ECX Torment and was fun lol but retired that chassis so now looking for something good and this looks awesome
cool rc and great review and run
Thanks dude
I've been waiting for something like this for our friends son. was gonna go brushed slash or latrax, but this is Sick
Slash is a good choice
I own one of these and its an amazing little truck. Big difference when you stick a brushless in it. The inly downside ive found is the plastic base breaks very easily but you can get an aluminium replacement thats quite cheap
Awesome video. 👌
I love the painted arms. My axial yeti jr can-am has red arms
Just ordered one for grand kids thanks for the review
They'll love it
I have got this truck i put in a cheap Banggood brushless set up in it and runs perfectly really good fun, hopefully be getting the DR8 soon. Great review.
DR8 is a beast of a truck!
I bought my first rtr car last month, the brushed outlaw.I love it.Its fast enough for me,but I will be following your brushless video.Havnt gone lipo yet.Ive always built tamiyas as I love the build, but these feel much better quality.
Enjoy!
Excellent bounce job, i enjoyed it very much
Really like the look of this been eyeing it up for a while may have to treat myself for summer haha
For £135 is really good value. Get a £40 Brushless in there and it would be awesome!
Definitely pal I reckon that thing would rip with a brushless set up
Reminds me of my old Axial Yeti Trophy Truck. Impressive. Very envious of your locations, btw. I live in Manchester and there's bugger all round here! A park full of dog poo, a Lidl car park and that's about it!
Locations are good around here.... hard though if you live in a big built up area
I think you should be the official “bounce” tester for this company! Way to go boing!😜🤣✌🏻👊🏼👍🏻
That is a wicked beginner truck 💪👊😀want one
Hahahaha get otta my head dude!!! Ive been umming n arrrrring about one of these for a little while now, but also curious to see what the new wltoys 104001 is going to be like :D . Great vid as usual dude. Thanks for doing it
Nice a new video. Hello from Atlanta, Georgia
Hello :)
Great job 👍👍😉😉
Great looking car. I got outback fury Xtreme last month. It's beautiful
The Xtreme is really nice
@@TomleyRC I've put hobbywing fusion 1800 in. Turning circle is pants though
Give that Nihm a couple of charge/discharge cycles and then take it out for a rip, it should give you more performance and run time.
thanks for the great video,I have just bought one
No probs Dean
I'm actually going to be getting one in a couple of weeks and putting the outlaw brushless set up in the zorro
Woww...super ... veramente bello questo ZORRO...bel video..ciao Tomley
Awesome. You should see my Outlaw converted to brushless on 2s. Goes like the clappers!
Brushless Zorro coming soon ;)
I did my outlaw last night and wow its fast compared to stock .3 stock motors iv burned out with the outlaw . The cars too big for the motor . Fed up waiting for FTX to send me a new motor after it burns out .
Some of went brushless last night
Good review Phil. It's the same as the Vetta Racing Karoo that was sold a few years ago
Great vid I have the nitro version it's a little rocket take alook tomley when you have a mo I have customized the bodyshell etc.👍 price is fantastic handles well puts a smile on my face.
The car itself is really nice, the body is not bad but questionable... Easily fixed anyway! Nice to see more 1/10 trucks with live axles
Finally! I've bought RC before you filmed it :D
Great review. FTX are really owning the entry RC market just now. I bought a load of their Tracers for the kids on our street at Christmas - all still going strong and vastly exceeded my expectations of a £60 RTR. Their Mauler is a great crawler out of the box too - excited to see what they release next.
The Tracers are cool little things!
Looks sharp!
Not sure if the Zorro has the same availability as the Outlaw, but there's 2 different motor mounts available to suit two different sized pinions, a 17 and 23t. Up the ante to the 23 if possible, a nice difference in speed! The brushed Outlaw comes stock with a 15T 550 motor, it was happy on 2S, so I tried 3S (serious change in performance as expected). The motor didn't burn out, perhaps because I only used it on a few occasions, though I'd read many folk losing their motors from it.. I then decided to increase things and see if it'll reach 50mph, so in went a 3800kv 3660 motor and 120A esc, with 3S up its backside on 23t pinon - it reached 50 :)
Hey bud, i know its a long time since your post, but i just orderd mine from the uk (i am in germany).
I got a 3650 brushless 4000kV motor here for my zorro when it arrives.
I will run it on 2s only because i dont got any larger lipo's. Can i use the stock pinion or would you say use something bigger? Thanks in advance my friend!❤
Trophy Trucks and Stadium Trucks seem to jump really nicely!
That is a killer rig. It looks like an easy brushless swap.
Sure is but cogs with the 23t pinoin
Now they are going to say you didn’t do enough slow-mo drop and it’s too fast haha great starter truck!
I m no expert, far from it but FTX seem to be excellent value, you seem to get a lot for your money👍I ve got an outlaw but even so I m considering one of these👍
Excellent review and video buddy,as usual👍👍😀
thanks for the video
No probs dude
looks way better handling than my outlaw 🤣 love ftx stuff , its easy to upgrade and parts are cheap. enjoyed the video bud 😀👍
Maybe it's the lower centre of gravity and smaller wheels ;)
@@TomleyRC can u pls put a link to the 2s lipo
I really like this truck. Crazy difference with lipo
Great vid bud be good comparing this and the brushed maverick strada shortcourse
Looks coolish
ive had this car since december 1st and im still very happy with it
i have a few upgrades on it
driveshaft with metal ends
4500kn motor and waterproof brushless esc
better steering servo on its way
better controller and recover
alimunum sway bars and kingpin braces
got to order better pinion and speer gear
and im getting a new body shell soon
i put on a longer servo arm to
this car is very much worth getting
it goes about 30 - 35 mph now
Sounds nice! Perfect set up
Bounce...🤭🤭🤭😁😁😁😁..... Have a great day partner ...🤠🤙🏼
haha
Nice looking brushless is key tho lol I know you will swap it out lol thanks for sharing
Wow cool RCcar👍👍🎊🎊💯💯
Nice vid! Love it! ❤❤
Wondering if I could stick a 3650 brushless motor and esc in this would the truck be upto the extra power? For my daughter ❤❤ shes out growing brushed and wants to drag race me in my big rock 😂
Recently got the nitro of this (it's basically an ftc carnage with a zorro bodyshell) and it's a blast to drive around! Not as adjustable but still really nice quality for the price!
Yes, I've seen that... looks quick!
@@TomleyRC Don't have a way to test the exact speed but yes, very quick!
Nice zorro
the bounce session 😂
just got one, should arrive soon, honestly the only things i don't like are the wheels as they are normal profile on one side, low profile on the other and the sway bars are plastic, but those are cheap and easy to replace, plus parts are so plentiful and cheap if any break its a moot point, so im looking forwards to its arrival, if i had the space i would have gotten the brushless one
Great video. Rarely see many reviews on this range. Check out the VRX Racing RH1045SC for a brushless version.
Yes, it many people touch on the cheaper stuff
Nice one ☝️
Do you know what is the best rc Crawler 1/10 under 200£?
Pretty sweet little truck, dude! Great bashing there! 😃
But, for some unknown reason, I think you should get a basketball. 🤔
Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
haha, not sure it'll fit through the hoop 😅
Thank you so much for the morning laugh and the bouncing car love it vape videos as usual
Haha... no worries dude
@@TomleyRC have you seen the new panda hobby 6x6s on Amazon got them on there but they're not releasing them till mid-april but they show them on Amazon 6x6 Panda hobbies
@@TomleyRC #1
@@chadedwards5908 Not seen the 6x6 from them yet. Had a quick look on Amazon but didn’t find it
@@TomleyRC try typing in panda 6x6, I'll try to snap a pic and post it.
Phil, seen a few vids where you mention not quite being able to reach with your thumb . You need to pick up one of those fake novelty thumbs 👍 for magic tricks 🤣🤣.
Wow that looks very well made💯 I really like this rig!!! This a UK brand?
I been waiting for you to do this one! There not many solid axle trucks like thos out. Redcat discontinued theirs and I wanted to see what's this like. Thanks!
Yes, not many cheap trophy tucks about. I like how it lifts the front wheel like the real thing
@@TomleyRC yea well can't afford the big ones from traxxas or losi, but I got a couple camo chassis and gonna build one that should work pretty good. Like it better than buying one, cuz I'm just gonna upgrade everything anyways!
You don't squish the tyres enough personally 😜 love the vids BTW 👍
I'll squish them more next time haha
Just bought one 2 years down the line after watching this video for the 200 and something time, what a great piece of kit, thank you for the honest review.. BTW what servo would you recommend as the one on it is 'weak' ish
I've got 2 of those little 1/14 scale RC truggies from RCG I think. They're £50 a piece and are okay but there are no batteries to buy for them and no spare parts as I've already snapped a steering arm and had to bodge a repair.
Looking for a 1/10 scale to step up in performance that can handle some bashing
I think I have a very similar truck wich comes brushless at a good price, its caled REELY Eraser. I think I paid around 250€ for it and it was absolutly worth it. Nice vid m8
Bargain for a Brushless!
The FTX outlaw is sold as the Reely Eraser in Germany with a different body, and yes, it is nice and cheap for a brushless rig😎
Good vid, can I ask your advice mate, bought mine in Dec, only just popped a charged battery in, only the transmitter is constantly flashing blue n beeping, not going solid green once cars switched on.... Help🤔
I about barfed my tacos watching that bounce.....
OH I like the suspension setup.
I just found this video from a future video, but I came to say that this truck was previously produced by a company called Vetta model name Karoo which I happen to own one. It wasn't popular by any means due to the center spur always melted. Vetta acquired the right to produce from Helion Rock Rider who got it from RGT Rockhammer. Both Helion and RGT used the rock bouncer body with the tall tires. Vetta did the same approach as the current owner as FTX. So theres multiple companies that will have parts for this car. Looking forward to see if the material used for the center spur gear is improved. It cannot handle brushless in its current state hence why the spur melts at the drive pin shears its housing in the spur.
There is an aftermarket spur gear available, it says it's "metal", but it isn't, more of a composite material. I've fitted one each into my Outlaw and another Outlaw which I converted into an SCT. They're still going strong to this day, and they're brushless too - immense fun!
@@cramalnig would you happen to have a source?
Not sure what country you're in, but the following part number is available in many model shops online here in the UK, such as Modelsport or Wheelspin and the likes: RWFTX62 Also, I'm not certain if this short course truck uses different gearing to the Outlaw with having smaller diameter wheels. Hope it helps anyway!
I had one of these a while back but called the Vetta Karoo, was fun but as soon as you put a brushless motor in it it's game over. Keep it brushed and I'm sure it will be OKish. Mine was an absolute donkey and broke every run (not bashing it either). Eventually threw it in the bin.
After some advice please, ive just ordered one of these after watching your video, what 2s battery would you recommend. Cheers
Great review 👍🏻 although the bounce montage could have been a few minutes longer😂😂😂maybe an hour long bounce montage is what the people want 😬😂
,currently looking for a decent rc after buying my lad a blackzon slyder for Christmas , it’s taken a proper beating and the only bit to fail was the spoiler 🤷🏻♂️
I’ve got an old TT01 which I’m using again but really want an off road as the TT’s proper fragile
Did you find out if the NIMH weren’t charged fully ❓
Don’t really wanna spend much more than £200 (exc batteries) and love the trophy/short course style , any recommendations
Cheers
Just bought this guys and new to the channel and hobby can anyone recommend a good lipo battery and what connector it is as I've noticed different ones. Cheers
Nice truck for younger people starting out or on a low budget.
Yes, perfect for the little ones
It looks like a VRX Blast 2.0 (which i got in a brushless version, and it is an amazing truck for the price)... I just wonder if it is not a rebrand... Anyway, awesome video, as usual :D
What do you use to do your speed test? Is it an app or something in the truck connected to your phone?
Great vid. Subbed when I saw you bouncing the truck. Off-topic, do you have a suggestion for an unassembled RC kit for somebody with a brain injury trying to regain some of my fine motor skills?
haha, cheers Chris. The Tamiya Grass Hopper is nice basic kit to get started., and it's pretty well priced 👍... or the Lunchbox
@@TomleyRC thanks a lot big guy. How would you rate them vs. say a Stampede 4x4 unassembled kit or an ECX amp? I'm thinking something in the larger scale might be easier to work on, but as a novice I could be completely wrong.
Thanks for the response man. Keep up the entertaining vids.
Would you say this is a better option than the Feiyue FY08 out of the box? Considering this is between £20-40 more expensive depending what deals Banggood have on at the time for the FY08?
Hahahahahaha was that enough bouncing for you folks. Nice one 👍
I have the same car but the brand is vrx racing model rh1045 but is brushless..... And yes it is a awesome truck have it for a year
Brushless one coming soon I hear
lmfao at the bouncing, you crack me up !
haha
YYEAAAHHH BAYBEEE! bouncey well that was short lived. unavailable in the US. Carry on!
Austin Powers and his shagadelic mojo 💪👊 😂classic...🍻
haha...yeah baby
Exactly like the reely eraser brushless
Got it for Christmas for my boy . Standard battery very slow lasts 5 min before dead . Is this normal? Would 2s lipo be faster
Phil -Surely the nimh wasn't working because you still had the esc in lipo mode ? Pinion sounds tight ? Is it weird looking back at these old vids ? All the knowledge you have gained ,well done mate
Would you recommend soldering deans
Plug on esc. I ve used tamiya to deans
Adapter and plug gets hot.
Yes, Deans or an XT60... much better than the Tamiya plug
It's annoying that in this day an age that most brushed rtr cars still come with the tamiya style connector, should be deans/t-plug as lipo and ni-mh batteries are readily available with that connector.
I have one question does it come with that europe charger?
Nice 👍😊👍~~~
Iv got 1 but the body goes on and the wheels on the rear look far forwards and it can rub, how to fix?
Hi, would u test hnr h9801 (hnr mars pro) ?
