1. Scott Bradlee, the pianist is the arranger of all PMJ work. He founded it. A genius at it, too! 2. Haley learned to scat before learning to speak! Her father, Harry did that w/ her a s very small child. I ran out of descriptive words for Haley a long time ago, so let's do this: recommendation- 7 nation Army, Don't Speak,Lovefool, & Mad World (w/ Puddles Pity Party). All Haley/PMJ work. Oh, and All about that base, in which she works w/ Morgan James and Arianna Savalas & Casey Abrams (who was on the same season of Am. Idol w/ Haley). All good stuff, I promise! Love your reaction. ;) PS: All PMJ videos are a single shot/take. However, this was literally, the ONLY take of this recording. 1 shot, BOOM! Insane, eh?
Their 'Dream On' (Morgan James singing) and 'All About That Bass' (Morgan, Haley & Ariana Savalas singing) covers both have some cool instrumental parts in them.
When I first saw this one it literally took me back to the nostalgic movies of the 40s and 50s when they had those lounge bands with a seductive singer in the background just singing her heart out.
Wrong, she didn’t not have the flu. Her interview on the matter: For PMJ Creep fans, Haley officially answers an often mischaracterized ‘fact’ about the recording of their iconic cover of “Creep”: PMj had just done five shows on the road across Europe and she was feeling a little tired But she felt it was that she wasn’t feeling 100% that gave her that extra tug of emotion she needed for the performance. “It’s been five shows, I’m pretty tired, I don’t know about this one….when it comes to those kinds of performances, I always give it 100% but I think emotionally, I was in a different place and really challenging something because I didn’t feel quite 100%, as far as being tired. It’s always really unique because I get to take my own stab and do the vocal arrangement…we’d only done it a few times on the road before that video. Alot of it is very jazz, very impromptu”
Why is it in one take and camera shot? Because Scott Bradley (pianist, founder, & orchestrator) said it was perfect the first take. She was fighting a chest cold or something at the time too
Why the rumours of Haley fighting a cold, flu, influenza, etc. please read her comment. I like that you gave props the the band. The pianist, Scott Bradley is leader of band and they are a perfect fit for her style. Haley is the best vocalist singing today.
I think Haley is one of the most impressive singers working today. Her use and control of vocal effects is unmatched. And her ability to act physically portray the sound she makes is amazing. She's like Jessica Rabbit meets Betty Boop meets Ella Fitzgerald. And quite frankly, this cover is so good, this is no longer a Radiohead song...This is Haley's song now. I say this on every reaction I've seen to this song, and I'm shocked at how few reactors do it...maybe because the original song isn't as well known...but you should do her (and PMJ's) cover of Tove Lo's "Habits". It's the most Haley Reinhart thing ever.
It is one of the best covers - in my opinion - of all time: it was completely, beautifully, and believably reimagined; the amazing synchrony between her and the band is just perfect; her range is astronomical- she made this her own jazzy rendition with that range that stretches beyond boundaries; and she managed with her voice to dip into other genres (like rock with those guttural tones) and keep the jazz feel. With all that, the sadness, passion and pain, and the message of the original song is preserved. You still feel and get it. It’s amazing.
This was One Take ... While she was sick with the flu! Miss Reinhard is a stunning, multi-talented & absolutely underrated artist. Loved seeing/hearing your take on this PMJ/Haley cover.
Hailey is magnificent but my personal favorite is Morgan James's cover of Aerosmith's Dream On, also a Post Modern Jukebox masterpiece. Imagine, if you will, a pizzicato cello doing an "electric guitar solo!" The pianist is Scott Bradlee. He is the founder and arranger.
What you don't seem to understand is that this is Post Modern Jukebox, not Haley Reinhart. PMJ feature many musicians and vocalist, all world class. Ahahah, finally Bob, can't wait... go! ... Cool reaction, putting some light on the instrumentals as well, but the star here is clearly Haley, what she does with her voice is incredible, and such a beautiful tone she has... Haley did quite a few collabs with Scott Bradlee / PMJ and imo these are among the best pieces of PMJ because she knows how to put the icing on the cake, but they feature some more really great singers and Scott's jazzy arrangements are generally great, you might also enjoy their cover of Aerosmith's "Dream On" featuring Morgan James... Bob, as far as I know, all the arrangements for PMJ are done by the band's leader, Scott Bradlee. So, next time you react to PMJ and marvel over the arrangement be sure to give credit to Mr. Scott Bradlee. He surely deserves the praise!
Scott Breadlee is a fine-but-n0t-mind-blowing pianist, but he's and absolute genius at two things: arranging, and finding the right people to execute his arrangements. ALL of PMJ's work is worth watching.
Great seeing you reacting to this version! I'd love for you to react to the voice kids (blind auditions) version of creep by Mimi and josefine. It's my absolute favourite and I always have goosebums when I hear it! :)
Oh wow, Band-Maid and now Post-Modern Jukebox, 2 of my faves! You gotta watch PMJ's parody cover of "Talk Dirty". I rolled on the floor laughing so hard watching the singer switch into Yiddish.
This is considered by many experts to be one of the top and singing performances of all time. Haley is not just a singer, she is a master vocal technician that will blow your mind using every vocal expression effortlessly and tastefully. Haley is the best all-around female vocalist today, not singer, anyone can sing but a pure vocalist
I think you would really appreciate All About That Bass especially for the bass solo-- one bass, two players. And of course the ladies just crush the vocals.
Scott Bradlee, the piano player, creates the arrangements. PMJ is his creation. Until COVID, they released a video once a week for years. This is the PMJ channel's most viewed video. Videos featuring Haley Reinhart dominate the channel's top ten videos (in terms of views).
@@bobcieslinski it was an online fan challenge. She learned it, recorded it, and posted it in just a few hours. Mind blowing the talent. Let it play to the last second on this one, you'll see why.
great reaction bob . haley reinhart is one the greatest, most unique vocalist of our time. postmodern jukebox (or pmj) takes current popular songs and completely re-imagines them vintage (1920s to 1960s) in the music itself and style of the performances that actually take you back in time. they have a variety of good vocals but haley especially with postmodern jukebox is incredible. all the other haley/pmj ones are great also: "all about the bass", "habits", "black hole sun", "mad world", "seven nations army", "oops i did it again", "lovefool" and the very recent "don't speak". i think what is so phenomenal about haley is not just her amazing silk to sandpaper voice but also her character and soul that she puts into the performances. even when she uses very little of her unique vocal acrobatics, her pure raw soft voice is amazing like in the intro of "creep". you see this even more in her solo platinum cover of "can't help falling in love" for the extra gum commercial which is truly stunning and frequently described as what love sounds like here: (ua-cam.com/video/_uNpEbt7w_o/v-deo.html )
I get so giddy with postmodern jukebox. Any feature with Haley Reinhart is Apex caliber. Personal favorite is White Stripes Seven Nation Army. Morgan James Aerosmith Dream On is elite level Miche Braden Sweet Child of Mine sounds like it's the original
Check out some songs from them with Puddles Pity Party(there is a duet with Harley as well). Perhaps they have come to the land down under, but I've never seen them. So sad
Thank you! I watch music reactions so the reactor can help me hear things I wouldn't and to appreciate the music more. I have probably watched 20 reactions to this song - I love this song! - and no one has helped more to help me hear the background instrumentals! Awesome!! I have only ever watched three seasons of American Idol but I was watching the year Hayley was competing; I thought she should have won it. I like Scotty (the winner) and still follow him, but Hayley was clearly the better artist. And this performance... wow!

Hey Bob, I Agree, Haley does have a beautiful voice, and PMJ does a great job too. Awesome cover. Another great version of this song is a piano cover by Pau from The Warning. Recommend you check that out, even if you don't do a reaction to it.
Thanks for reviewing this! A certain shark v-tuber introduced me to this version and enjoyed it so much. If you like PMJ, I totally recommend The End of the World - "Space Jazz" Skeeter Davis Cover ft. Niia on their same channel!
also what is even more impressive is that this masterpiece was actually completed in one take with a tired voice and all but one of the postmodern jukebox covers are done live with no auto-tune, etc more info in links below: here is the history of "creep" one take from scott bradlee (the creator and pianist from postmodern jukebox): ua-cam.com/video/MskKSH1Kf4U/v-deo.html. here is additional history on haley and "creep" from #1 fan haleyTusk (even has a color pic of her from that day): ua-cam.com/video/eVASTaIoTYw/v-deo.html
You must delve into PMJ. Scott Bradley, on the piano, is the originator, arranger, and producer of this group. Musicians and vocalists vary. I recommend Haley doing Seven Nation Army, a White Stripes cover and Sarah Potenza doing Power of Love, a Huey Lewis and the News cover. There is so much more! ☮️❤️😎
Seven Army Nation with Haley, Dream On, Maps, and Take Me To Church with Morgan James are all great tracts. I have many others tracts that I love but they don't quite have the wow factors like the ones I listed.
You will get a LOT of suggestions for more PMJ with Haley (her covers with PMJ are great) but don't ignore other artists performing with them. I would suggest, for example, Morgan James cover of Maroon 5 "Maps" as well as Haley's covers and other artists.
I agree. While I'm definitely a Haley fan, Scott brigns in the best vocalists. This is why I have as much of their recordings as I do. It's one deep rabbit hole!
Nice reaction! 😊 Great rendition of this song! It’s really interesting to see how they cover songs in various ”old styles”. Don’t speak and All about that bass are two covers I’ve seen and like. When I heard this cover I came to think about the Swedish musician Gunhild Carling and I then I saw that she played with PMJ! Eg Dancing Queen and Happy. In Happy playing A LOT of instruments, eg bagpipe! Also tap dancing and playing three trumpets at the same time (her special thing)! She is a real virtuoso and a true entertainer! 😃 Some performances of her showing this: Bugsy from her Jazz Varieté (swing and 20’s style with orchestra) ua-cam.com/video/C1wrl9hrWmE/v-deo.html Playing the trombone, singing and dancing 😄 for the Swedish king ua-cam.com/video/rhz4JpSaYiU/v-deo.html Playing the recorder, one trumpet, two trumpets and then three trumpets! It was Gustav’s Birthday. She a Swedish Nation treasure . PMJ just happens to be in Sweden next week during the European Tour, we’re going to see them in Nörrkoping, Row7👍🇸🇪
You should check out Pau's (The Warning) cover of this song. Best cover of this song and better than the original....by the way, this video is also better than the original too.
What's funny is that nobody comments that in the original version from Radiohead, it was the soundtrack song to the movie "SFW." Also, the original version of the song had *"So fucking special"* instead of "So very special." Also, since it was a slow and depressing song, Radiohead would rip into some sections with a loud guitar to break up the monotomy. Please do PMJ's Caroline Baran's version of "Nothing Else Matters."
Thanks I’ll put that on the list. The Radiohead version was awesome and so was this. I actually love the version from the Tv show Lucifer too. All different but awesome.
This is PMJ's second cover of Creep. The first was done with a different vocalist. In the following video Scott Bradlee, in an interview, talks about PMJ's creation of their versions of Creep and how and why Haley did this video in ONE take. ua-cam.com/video/MskKSH1Kf4U/v-deo.html
Scott Bradlee (the brains behind PMJ) draws from a large pool of musicians and vocalists. His process is to reimagine a well-known modern song in a mid-20th century style. Then, he decides on the best voice(s) and instrumentation to get the vibe. Last, he employs those musicians and vocalist(s.) Haley toured with PMJ in 2015 and recorded 7 or 8 videos -- this one being the standout. A close second is their fascinating remake of "Seven Nation Army" (originally by The White Stripes) -- ua-cam.com/video/sB6HY8r983c/v-deo.html In this one, Haley IS Jessica Rabbit! Then, out of nowhere, Haley rejoined PMJ in 2021 for one recording -- "Don't Speak" by No Doubt -- ua-cam.com/video/Txi7QuO99kM/v-deo.html For this one, Scott uses strings (including a harp) and a cameo appearance of a b. sax!
I think you would get a kick out of Brass Against. It's a cover band on youtube that uses a whole bunch of brass instruments and really great guest singers. They do some amazing Tool and Rage Against the Machine covers. A lot of other great stuff as well.

PMJ make so many great adaptations of songs in this style. There's a particularly lovely version of George Michael's Careless Whisper, starring one of their other great solo vocalists, Robyn Adele Anderson - ua-cam.com/video/lVXziMFEqX0/v-deo.html .
I'm screaming at my screen with all the poorly timed pauses really killing the vibe! lol This cover is easily better than the original for me. And I loved the original since it was released.
Ok, so what is SOOO amazing about this video is not ONLY her singing, but how SEXY it is. As a hetero man, she's dripping sexuality ALL THE WAY through the video to the point where it's almost kind of cringy. Like, as a man, when she's saying that she wishes she had a perfect body, and at the same time she's running her hands up her body while sashaying back and forth--it's the perfect dichotomy to the lyrics and it's almost kind of like burlesque in a way--but at the same time her voice is SOOOOOO incredible that it makes you feel like you're a perv for being attracted to her, yet at the same time it's obviously meant to attract you----it's very confusing. Like, are you supposed to be attracted to her or just be in awe of her? Or both? So, again, as a hetero male, your brain is flip-flopping the entire time between the two. And that was, at least, part of the point--the intention. Invoking that response though is amazing when you think about it. The whole, "gee that's sexy but kind of cringy at the same time...." It is amazing.
I am not a fan of this type of music or singing. She has a great voice but this style of singing always makes me want to start coughing on her behalf, to clear her throat and passages lol!! Sorry that it wasn’t more in favour of this but at least it might help your algorithm.

Oh wow, Band-Maid and now Post-Modern Jukebox, 2 of my faves! You gotta watch PMJ's parody cover of "Talk Dirty". I rolled on the floor laughing so hard watching the singer switch into Yiddish.
Thanks Rabbi! People in this community make some great suggestions. Thanks for being here.
I recommend doing Morgan James' cover with Postmodern, of Dream on by Aerosmith.
She is amazing and I really loved the whole band. What a great arrangement.
I think you would really appreciate All About That Bass especially for the bass solo-- one bass, two players. And of course the ladies just crush the vocals.
Thanks Michelle!
Scott Bradlee, the piano player, creates the arrangements. PMJ is his creation. Until COVID, they released a video once a week for years. This is the PMJ channel's most viewed video. Videos featuring Haley Reinhart dominate the channel's top ten videos (in terms of views).
Thanks for thr info! Great arranging and performance.
This version has all sorts of yum yum in it
You should check out The Warning cover of Creep. It's just Pau on the family piano. You would love it.
Thanks!
Thanks Jay I appreciate the kind words and info. Haley is an amazing singer and the rest of thr band was incredible too.
Adding Haley’s name to the title would add to the traffic of this reaction.
Thanks Jeff! I’ll look into t hanging that.
They did this in one take!
Tbh, I think PMJ's cover of Seven Nation Army is one of their best. A lot of things you enjoyed about this song is featured in that one as well!
Check it out I just did that one Grace. Thanks!
I get so giddy with postmodern jukebox.
Any feature with Haley Reinhart is Apex caliber. Personal favorite is White Stripes Seven Nation Army.
Morgan James Aerosmith Dream On is elite level
Miche Braden Sweet Child of Mine sounds like it's the original
Those all sound awesome Denise! Thanks!
Check out some songs from them with Puddles Pity Party(there is a duet with Harley as well). Perhaps they have come to the land down under, but I've never seen them. So sad
Thanks Michael!
And this performance... wow!
Thanks you so much Rod! I appreciate it. This one was incredible. I loved the arranging and everything about it.

Hey Bob, I Agree, Haley does have a beautiful voice, and PMJ does a great job too. Awesome cover. Another great version of this song is a piano cover by Pau from The Warning. Recommend you check that out, even if you don't do a reaction to it.
Thanks Chris! I’ll check it out man.
Best cover ever.
Thanks for reviewing this! A certain shark v-tuber introduced me to this version and enjoyed it so much. If you like PMJ, I totally recommend The End of the World - "Space Jazz" Skeeter Davis Cover ft. Niia on their same channel!
Thanks I’ll have to check it out.
also what is even more impressive is that this masterpiece was actually completed in one take with a tired voice and all but one of the postmodern jukebox covers are done live with no auto-tune, etc more info in links below:
here is the history of "creep" one take from scott bradlee (the creator and pianist from postmodern jukebox): ua-cam.com/video/MskKSH1Kf4U/v-deo.html.

Thanks so much Jay I really appreciate it.
Bob, your reactions are priceless. Love the professional expertise you provide. Please review Morgan James : "Dream On".
Thanks so much Michael that means a lot. I’ve got it on the list.
If you really want to see the band in it’s fullest you need to watch Haley and PMJ do the cover of white stripes Seven Nation Army!! A must watch.
Thanks Steve! I’ll add that to the list b
Thanks Terrie! I’ll check those out. I’m loving the arranging and music they are putting out.
Seven Army Nation with Haley, Dream On, Maps, and Take Me To Church with Morgan James are all great tracts. I have many others tracts that I love but they don't quite have the wow factors like the ones I listed.
Thanks for thr suggestions!
Wondering how Radiohead likes someone else owning this song. Haley Reinhart makes Radiohead sound like a coma
Thanks Gary!
Absolutely agreed!
Highly recommend PMJ cover of Mr. Blue Sky featuring Alison Young.
👍The don't speak cover is amazing or the Aerosmith dream on cover is off the charts
I’ll have to check those out thanks Brandon.
Some performances of her showing this:
Bugsy from her Jazz Varieté (swing and 20’s style with orchestra)

It was Gustav’s Birthday. She a Swedish Nation treasure . PMJ just happens to be in Sweden next week during the European Tour, we’re going to see them in Nörrkoping, Row7👍🇸🇪
@@georgelynch6139 Yes it was and he really seemed to enjoy it 🙂 Enjoy the concert!
Thanks Petra! Those were great and unique.
Watch pmj and Haley sing don't speak by no doubt. It's great. Has more instruments performing
Thanks Travis!
I don't know if it's been said yet... but hailey was also sick when this was recorded
Wow you wouldn’t know it watching her or listening to her. She’s a pro. What a voice too.
I like this version better than the original
You should check out Pau's (The Warning) cover of this song. Best cover of this song and better than the original....by the way, this video is also better than the original too.
Thanks Tim! I’ll have to check it out.
Also you should listen to Pau from the warning doing this as well :)
Thanks!
Thanks so muc Michael for thr video!
Then, out of nowhere, Haley rejoined PMJ in 2021 for one recording -- "Don't Speak" by No Doubt -- ua-cam.com/video/Txi7QuO99kM/v-deo.html For this one, Scott uses strings (including a harp) and a cameo appearance of a b. sax!
Thanks Corker! I’ll add those to the list.
What's really uncommon here is that she lead the key change rather than the instrumentalists. She changed key and was spot on when the band came in.
I think you would get a kick out of Brass Against. It's a cover band on youtube that uses a whole bunch of brass instruments and really great guest singers. They do some amazing Tool and Rage Against the Machine covers. A lot of other great stuff as well.
Sounds interesting. Send me a link if you can. Thanks!

PMJ make so many great adaptations of songs in this style. There's a particularly lovely version of George Michael's Careless Whisper, starring one of their other great solo vocalists, Robyn Adele Anderson - ua-cam.com/video/lVXziMFEqX0/v-deo.html .
Thanks Tony! I got it.
I'm screaming at my screen with all the poorly timed pauses really killing the vibe! lol This cover is easily better than the original for me. And I loved the original since it was released.
Sorry I paused too much for you but I get excited about things I am hearing and seeing.
Haley is the real life Jessica Rabbit
She sure seems like it.
Done in one take... mic drop.
Haley Reinhart owns this song. She makes me say Radiohead who?
It’s a great version but the original is great too. They each are special in their own way.
I am not a fan of this type of music or singing. She has a great voice but this style of singing always makes me want to start coughing on her behalf, to clear her throat and passages lol!! Sorry that it wasn’t more in favour of this but at least it might help your algorithm.
Hey music is one of those things Joanna that makes us all feel and think different things. Everyone has their opinion and thoughts and the best part is no one is wrong. Thanks for your comments.

Haley isJessica rabbit in human form, if you react to her cover "seven Nation army"with postmodern jukebox, you will know why she is Jessica rabbit
Thanks J I’ll check it out.
What Haley goes low in her vocals, that's the Ella Fitzgerald influence over Haley. Ella Fitzgerald was a master that loan notes in her vocal
The drummer is in back of Haley..a running joke with PMJ..
