Can confirm, I'm an old man that needs all the things. I bought a 2020 GSA HP in October, and I immediately needed a Klim jacket and pants as well as the black aluminum side cases.

The other "Old Man" cheap bastard option is the DR650. Got mine!! Still has all the fancy stuff - rider modes:1 (whoever is riding it), ABS options:1 (off), suspension options:1 (bouncy and soft), traction control options:1 (auto adjusted by rear tyre wear), engine modes:1 (tractor), heated grips/seat:yes (heated by hands/arse), trip computer:1 (big round speedo with odometer), mirrors:2 (big shiny barn doors), exhaust modes:2 (stealth and aftermarket). Absolutely love riding it and wouldn't change it for anything! Still, the GS is one sexy beast...

Id say it’s a young’s man bike too if you can swing the high cost. I bought my first gs at 28. 2018 Bmw gsa. Cost me a arm and a leg and I had to really rework my budget but never once have I had a single regret in purchasing that bike. I have a Wr250r and ktm 500 for anything serious in the dirt but for long distance travel and exploration. GSA period! If forced to own only one bike it would be the Gs. It’s so easy to work on! I can praise that bike from sun up to sun down. It’s such a joy to ride!

    Hello,
    I had a 1150gs 17 years (2001 to 2018) a 1200gsa (700k range ) 2 years and i have yet a 790 adv r.
The 790 adv r can do what all the gs can do more easier.
Just a bit less confortable on road, not too much differences to ride at legal speed.
The 790 adv r with more preload on fork and road tires can go far too fast on road too, light is right.
I can tell you i live in France in a country of nice mountain twisty road.
The difference is we buy a gs and let it with road tires I our country's and the Kim not to do things the same way so at least everybody put 50/50 tires on it.
As everybody knows the kind of tires change bikes.
Thank you for yours videos Nerb1 and you you making dream people in other parts of world.
    I'm waiting for a videos T7 and 790 r crossing the Simpson.
I say that, i say nothing...

    • @Katojones21
      @Katojones21 3 роки тому +2

A gold wing and k1600 are excellent for the road but when you want to do on and off road The GSA can’t be touched! It’s the best of both worlds!

I had a bumble bee 🐝 R100GS. I prefer the tricolour paint scheme as it doesn’t show the dirt & scratches. I don’t do a lot of long distance rides anymore so a top box for bits and pieces would do the job. KTM 890 Adventure would probably do most of what I want but the BMW wins with heated grips, seat, screen, shaft drive.

I have the 2021 Goldwing Tour and the 2021 R1250 GSA and they are both equally comfortable on long road trips. If I had to give the edge to one it would be the GW because of the rider sissy bar and CarPlay. But….my 2021 KTM 890 Adventure R is the most FUN to ride. I have stock seats on the two larger bikes and I’ve done 500+ mile days.

I had last year 2020 model R1250GSA. And finally dissapointed.
First started problems with keyless system. I could not fill up petrol as fuel tank was not opening. Sometimes opening and sometimes no... I come to petrol statiom and can not open!
And worst come after 10.000 km- there was comming noise from engine. Like valves noise. BMW dealer told this is normal but that noise was too unbearable so I could not live with this. It is not normal in my oppinion for motorcycle which cost 24.000 €.
    So had to sell.

If you're an old man 50+ and you plan to go off road do not buy an adventure bike because it's far too heavy for you to lift for when you get bogged and it very physically intensive to ride off road while sliding around. Stick to a pure dirtbike as they're light weight and the knobby tyres make everything better even on road they're fine.
