This is BS ! I changed the PCV on my Audi A4 b8 and it stills burns oil like crazy. The high oil consumption on Audis has nothing to do with the coils or the PVC valve. It's the pistons, and you might as well buy a new car.
You can complain to Audi about this since it is a manufacturing defect. They must change the piston rings under warranty. They did it for me here in Europe however my car was a second hand.
When I remove my oil cap while the engine is running, the engine moves like crazy, I'm experiencing loss of power and vibrations but no codes. Can this be the problem. I already did common maintenance.
My check engine light just came on and I’m pretty sure it’s something to do with the pcv. Would it still be safe to drive it 4- for 5 days later until the new part arrives?
Can replacing the pcv valve actually solve a oil leak or is it impossible to just be resolved via the replacement of the valve. Obviously assuming it was the pcv valve that is causing the leak ?
Hello , I have VW Tiguan 2.0 T , I have noticed lately my engine is too lean and white smoke coming from exhaust. When i remove oil stick or oil engine cap change of engine is changing becoming more ruffled, P2187 code came out also engine light is on ,could be PCV valve and hoses air leak ? Thank you :)
White smoke is probably due cold weather as it is not consistent with the other symptoms.. P2187 could be for many reasons, among them is the PCV valve, leaks in air hoses or in minor cases under-reading MAF
Working on an Audi A4 ,2012.. Even after changed the PCV valve still the engine has high crank case vacuum... No restriction in the inlet... Any ideas...???
These could be generated by the PCV, however if they are stand alone codes and no other codes exist then u might have to look somewhere else, most common failures that cause misfire codes are spark plugs and ignition coils .
Hello !! I have a 2012 jetta gli ! And I have an oil consumption ! I remove the hose from PCV module and the rear hose go to turbo (air intake pipe before turbo ) I found a lot oil, I removed the hose go to air cooler to intake manifold and dropped a lot oil, also the hose go to PCV to intake has oil to !! It's the PCV module bad ??
Is a little vacuum ok? I just replaced both hoses and the PCV valve. Honestly still feels like there is some vacuum. I’m nervous to drive it since getting the CEL. After replacing the parts, to test it I idled for about 5 minutes then held RPMs around 2000 for 2 minutes to simulate a short drive. I don’t see any oil leaks, no CEL, oil level didn’t change.
I've got a 09 CC with the TSI motor - -118k miles. Car was running great actually and still pulling fairly well with the boost on the turbo. Car has NOT been raced or abused. was lightly driven and not red lined like other idiots mistreat their TSI motors... Just had a near break downon highway, engine light started flashing. I came to stop and it running like shit - like it's misfiring. limped the car home luckily. Put up my scan tool and it's only pulling up a p103. MAF!? So I changed that with a Napa NEw one- didn't fix problem. I started looking at other things. I looked at mis firing codes. None were available.I repeated the testing and KEEP getting the p0103 code- relating to the MAF... hmm? So I look at the mis fire count, and cyl# 3 has double digit misfires counts that aren't familiar. I lookat the MAF g/ps readings and it's at about 2g/psat idle and it fluctuates when I throttle it goes up to 4,5,6+ g/ps.... - so I KNOW that is doing it's job. all I can think of is that a couple years ago, I rebuilt the original oil separator/crankcase vent valve, and I put the new diaphram in and it went back to normal with a nice smooth idle. I also have a rear main seal leak too that just started. and it's leaking moderatly... I'm wondering if I should spend the money and buy a NEW one of these peices that you've replaced? it's an expensive gamble? side note- if I was getting a legitimate cyl 3 misfire due to a bad coil, would I be getting a p0303? The car runs and idles -rough. the car takes turns with a solid check engine and then a blinking. so I don't think it's a skipped timing chain tooth. there's no coolant in the oil. the car was running great when this happened the other cold morning. I've done what I can and it's still not giving me anything but a p0103. Anyone want to help or chime in?
I would believe if the MIL was blinking then the car shouldve set a misfire code, strange that it doesnt, maybe u have to try a different scan tool. But as long as u see a significant number of counts on a single cylinder, i would swap the plug and coil from that cylinder into two different cylinders and see if the misfires move with that. The PCV valve is better be OE, aftermarket are hit and miss, some people get lucky and others not. For the P0103, i wouldn’t put any other sensor than OE, napa is not a place to buy VW sensitive parts, maybe try cleaning the old one and putting it back, sometimes it work.

It can, if the diaphragm is broken you will fail the finger test. If it's fine you will not fail it, but that is only part of the PCV cover that can fail so it doesn't mean yours is okay.
