- Опубліковано 28 вер 2024
- In this video, we take the 7er on a drive down the Autobahn for the very first time. This restoration is slowly entering into the final phase. In this episode, I lower and raise the car (yup, you read it correctly), nail Alcantara on the headliner, replace some speakers... also, I talk for a bit in the end.

May God give me the amount of patience this man has.
He is the exact right person to own old BMWs.
...and the tools he has :)
And he has no kids 😂😂😂
That's like asking a plank of wood to help you lift it..
Exactly. I could never do this for that very reason.
"I'm not a professional" while doing better than most mechanics working on bmws
Yes, clearly you are way more professional than the clown mechanics who worked on the car in Dubai.
Lol, actually he clearly seems to have some training. I think he's joking.
@@Johnathan_Waters No, he is not joking. He is a self taught specialist. He is a professional IT guy who started working in his own BMW as a hobby, and ended up doing this as a full time activity.
@@arleco12 I think you are confused.
@@Johnathan_Waters No, I'm not. ua-cam.com/video/Aly27qvQ5C8/v-deo.html
Over 40 yrs BMW driver and repairer, this man has it down, Very Impressed with all his projects. This car chipped will do 172 MPH. Dirt roads are unbelievably Fun and Furious in the E38! No Big car Handles like this Bavarian Bullet Proof Beast! Love your editing..Class Act Young Man!.
ua-cam.com/play/PL05QC5Qz_YrdA6MnXL1IAwk4eu9fAJqMc.html
Can do more, about 181mph factory. My old 750 (1995, M73 no vanos + 5HP30 + hydraulic suspension) with small software tweak is slightly more than 300km/h ~188mph
I'm taking on an e38 project myself. This series is like goldmine to me.
I hope you found a real goldmine to help you out with all the costs !
@@805NAVE haha this is true. Good news is, mine a 728i so parts are cheaper, bad news is they dont make interior trims and body parts any more 😭
advise from a guy who had one for 15 years find an all aluminum radiator and good luck keeping power steering fluid off your driveway
@halla aho towards the end mine was leaking it from everywhere, I loved mine and hated to let it go ultimately the timeing chain guides perished and it didn't make sense to invest more into it as my new england climate had started to nibble away at some of the sheet metal especially the door tips, i kept in the driveway for over 6 months after it refused to start just because i liked to look at it!
you basically raised the value of this car by 10k . good job
also i wanted to mention that you did a very clean job. i watched many car youtubers and mechanics , but you are by far the best one.
this motivates me to do some work on my car too
As a trimmer of 30 plus years finally someone using the correct glue for a head liner ! Great work and love the Chanel now thinking of getting my wife a big bmw
Thank you!
M539 Restorations would you consider working on a project on order ? I will finance it all
Wow, what a car. You and Hoovie now have the most pristine E38s on UA-cam. Congrats!
Too bad Hoovie hates BMWs and literally doesn't try to fix anything himself. M539 is far better because he restores them himself. But I do see your point!
M Sprinkel I think it’s because he’s in Kansas and M539’s in Germany, this means part costs could be much lower and M359’s more of a BMW fanatic whereas Hoovie has many other cars and not the same level of liking
Also Hoovie ditched quite nice 760Li, which I can't forgive - those pumps CAN be fixed and it doesn't cost as much as he said. And the car is amazing, E66 is really underappreciated car and they're making it looking worse than it really is :/ Hope that Sreten can buy E66 one day and show how great this machine is!
Rafał Paprocki yes!! That seriously was unforgivable! That was a gorgeous car and definitely shouldn’t have been scrapped
Rafał Paprocki I mean he is American
This guy is amazing..he can fix cars, do car interiors, UA-cam, editing... What a man
It doesn’t get any better than the e38 750il - you’re work is amazing in restoring this car perfectly
Even though I don’t know cars’ mechanical side and don't understand everything very well, I find these videos very therapeutical and happily watch a 45min episode
Dubai guy change his mind and wants his car back.
I'm not even a BMW guy but you are the most amazing all around automotive guys I've ever seen.
5:09 Nothing beats an ultimate car speaker stress test with some German Schlager music played loud!
actually this is not far fetched. schlager is good to test for rattles because of the stupid 80s style 100hz kicks.
@@kingprone7846 good to know
@@sv_cheats1970 other good stuff to listen to is pretty much every new stuff from GoldenFeatures (ie his spotify top list) If you can play that without rattles you are good to go.
The patience you had in installing that alcantara headliner... I don't think I'd be able to handle a project like that, but the results are fantastic. What a perfect luxury interior.
To me, this is the best looking BMW 7 series ever! Glad that you manage to restore this car.
You know a chanel has a top end content when 33 minutes long video feels like a 4 minutes one..
I love those videos
"Tremendously brilliant". No English native speaker has ever said such a thing..... but I will from here on out to honour your work. Lad!
Capital English, I would say.
one incredible thing is that, this guy took off the roof all by him-very-self. unbelievable work, and is amazingly done!
This car's engine has almost 4 times the displacement, 3 times the cylinders than what my little Mitsubishi Colt has. Yet it can be driven with less than double amount of fuel. Bigger engines do use fuel more effectively. What a beautiful car. I salute to your skills and patience.
Largely it’s because more powerful
Engines have to work less hard to move the mass. You spend less time at high revs and pushing the car to get up to speed. My experience with larger engines has always been that they are more efficient than you’d think.
And also don't forget... it is German technology No 1 in the world .
Big engine ... with huge output torque.. with less fuel consumption. This is what I called ... brilliant German technology.
@@nadirhussein3871 no1 in the world maybe before 2000. Now they are junk that breaks down all the time. All I see on motorways is BMW and Mercedes broken down.
oh don't worry about that, this one has a very healthy appetite, specially with the shorter rear diff it has, don't expect to go below 25-30 liters per 100km
@@1061shrink1061 only at high speeds. In city driving they just suck.
A car-channel with a guy who has actually got serious mechanical skills?! Thank You Lord! No nonsense, nice language and great content, THANK YOU!
I was so excited to see the notification drop that this vid was going up, now I’ve watched it I’m sad I have to wait til the next one! Who needs Netflix when we have all these beauties getting the M539 treatment?! Absolutely love the channel, congrats on the 100K btw!
Your channel and videos are so professional and interesting, I cannot wait until your next one. The level of patience you have fixing interior parts is amazing, Thank you
Absolutely gorgeous car. And an absolutely amazing job restoring it. Best automotive channel on youtube hands down my man, huge huge props to you! Only complaint is these videos dont drop often enough! :)
You have to be patient as this man is. :D
Did all this including Alcantara roof, heater core and A/C evaporator on a RHD E31in Australia with limited access to resources. It was a daunting project. I have huge respect for this Technician.
The restored headliner is of such quality it could have been supplied to BMW production line for fitment ( I think it’s even of superior quality)... Also, steering wheel upgrade is absolutely perfect !! Finally, your end of video summary incapsulated every thing that just simply outstanding about owing this car... couldn’t have expressed it better!
“Cocaine table” 🤣🤣🤣
I can just imagine the amount of satisfaction you must get from driving that beautiful machine after all that you've put in to it. Well done.
Thank you for the most satisfying restoration series I’ve ever seen !
Amazing restoration and 80's dance party all in one!!
Loving the 80s bass synth for the time lapse 19:16. Keep up the great work!
31:19 Cocaine tables, 🤣🤣🤣
😄😄😄😄
I actually went, "wait, did he say cocaine tables in the back" 😂😂
@@andrewlaw And mirrors 🤣
I love Sreten's humor! You always get some laughs along...
😂🤣😂🤣
E38 and E39 are the most beautiful BMW models ever made (in my opinion).Your car looks stunning and well job done !!
Most of the so called Mechanics should be your student!!!
Thing is, most mechanics have to work to deadlines and budgets. This channel is brilliant because it's about detail and going the extra inch to restore a car with passion.
Yeah, for professional mechanics - the faster you finish, the more money you make. That's all.
Please don't get bought by anyone and continue these great videos. Honestly entertaining, fun to watch and great actual work done on the cars.
Love it! Can't wait for more of both this one and Project Cologne, hopefully we'll see some more of that soon too!
Easily one of the best youtube channels period. The quality of the work is matched by the quality of the editing.
Man such great craftsmanship! Super impressed by how you’re doing this all alone AND filming/editing this content. Glad I’ve been subscribed!
Congratulations for the plates finally, You are one dude who’s video I don’t fast forward, and I deserve a thumbs up for that . Huge appreciations for your work and great voiceover
This guy posts a video...
Me in the middle of the night experiencing insomnia: OH, hell yea 😍
subbing to this channel was a great decision..........its always great to see someone who has a passion succeed with their projects.
I like the fact that he is doing nearly everything himself.remarkable talent
I wonder where you learned how to repair the things so good, cause youre "only" an IT Engineer
Being an IT Engineer just means that you are good searching the web. Doesn't matter what you're doing.
The E38 lines are just beautiful. Such a perfectly proportioned, elegant and attractive looking car. Even by modern standards.
0:50 Wow, wow, wow, That is the best spring compressor I have seen. I think Alcantara looks dirty all the time, even brand new install...
honestly, its almost cooler than the car! i want one
You can brush it right way if it bothers you.
A huge kudos from Greece for the love you give to all your projects.
I like the way you go about fixing your chosen cars, You are the best, never seen anybody in my life fix, repair cars the way you do, I definitely will buy one of your cars and drive, being all BMWs, the huge problem with most drivers are car repairs and right mechanic throughout, Nowadays most of us try to avoid going to the car mechanic, cheers from Southern California.
Awesome work you did. I've just become addicted to your channel and your content! Keep it up. Well done man.
I can't get enough of your videos man, i could watch you work for hours.
Beautiful work! Also I laughed aloud at the “cocaine table” 😂
Love that fully colour coded exterior, no black plastic anywhere!
I like the 80s victory song when headliner was done lol
Profi job on the headlining! You have transformed this car into a really clean example.
Your hands are gold my friend. I hope you never die. Great channel!
Absolutely amazing job on recovering the headliner! This video is the reason I finally decided to say 'yes, I want Alcantara fabric because like putting brand new OEM rims on a 1990 Honda prelude missing its bumper cover, this will enhance my experience!' Lucky for me there's a suspiciously large amount of wrecked Cayennes with GTS trim in scrap yards, just none with the pano roof from 08-10 meaning 'project to annoy the neighbors with time!' Unluckily for me, I live in North America. I was unable to locate a Technicoll distributor here, I am wondering if I didn't dig far enough, or if it's another reason my location is reason for unhappiness. Keep up the videos, these are a joy to watch!
Why is your “evil twin” not helping you to make this quicker?😂😂
because his evil twin is EVIL.
Once again, you've outdone yourself by putting your personal professional touch to this classic machine. I salute you for taking time and interest to keep such engineering on the road. Well done buddy 👏👏👏
The amount of work that goes into these videos is insane thank you for making this content so enjoyable
I used to own an E38 740i and love driving it back in the days. I have to move on to newer Bimmers when it gets old. If I have similar skills and facilities like the host, I would definitely restore one myself. Since I don't, the best I can do is watching his videos and drool.
Absolutely love it! Your project Dubai BMW E38 is the best restoration I've seen. Such passion, enthusiasm and patience! Amazing!
Kapa do poda!
Thank you man for this channel. I dont know why but I play you videos at the end of the day and relax. I guess my childhood memories with my father`s E32 (7 series 2nd generation) coming back with your videos. Plus, you are very very good at what you do. Art and mechanics together... just beautiful. Thanks men
dude it looks like you post this at times that favour American audience ;PP
When doing crap is virtue on UA-cam you find this channel. This is gold. Thank you.
Your attention to details and quality is superb. Hard to believe that this is not your profession.
Just stumbled upon this and it was so relaxing to watch. While I'm looking for a proper commuting car right now I hope to have the extra money and time in the future for a project BMW like this. Just take my time and enjoy it once it's finished.
I've always love the E38 it's a timeless and classic car. I just drove over 23 hours round trip from Los Angeles to Oregon and picked up a European spec 1999 BMW 750il. I'm gonna follow a lot of the steps you've done to get it pristine.
I drive a little 1 series 1.6 turbo. Found this channel looking for some help trying to replace ... wait for it ... a headlight cover. And man, there are quite a few phonies out there on YT. But @M539 Restoration does this with fun, patience and professionalism. Love this channel. Can’t wait for the next upload.
Your BMW vehicle restoration work is just meticulous. Bravo..
This is number one channel. With the best mechanic ever
I watched all the videos up to this video on the 750iL. What a dream car. If it had a 5 or 6 speed manual it would be perfection. But still, what a pleasure to watch. I can dream. I’m in the market for a 740iL, and have found several that all need nothing less than a total 4.4 V8 rebuild.
awesome! dont forget to add this to the playlist, currently this is not included in the dubai car playlist!
That snippet of HR4 radio gives me terrible PTSD from when i lived with grandparents in Frankfurt! XD
A complete inspiration! Love the alcantara roof! Love your videos . Was so happy you revived the big 750 one of my all time favourites the E38
love the 80's vibe on the music choice.
This guy is compelling, love the attention to detail.
Outstanding work again. The relaxed, funny and informative presentation also make the series a joy to watch. Great to see the E38 out and getting used after the countless hours of labour, they don't seem to make them like that any more.
I'll be getting some of that Foliatec fabric spray for my purple E60 parcel shelf. Thanks!
It is crazy how this kind of information is shared for free! This channel is amazing!
What a skilled perfectionist, amazing! Pleasure to see the ease he does all with. I’d let him fix my E38 2001 any day. Welldone my Guru and hero!
Your videos are some of the best on the internet. Love the style. Always excited when the notification comes in!
Satisfaction guaranteed.. It just shows the love, dedication n the will. You're the Man
I can overstate how much I love this channel.
And this is a Bond car. What's not to love? Amazing restoration work!
Keep these videos coming. By empowering more DIY projects you are saving older BMW’s from scrap yards!
love this series, I live in new zealand, we have lot of bmw's imported from japan. Great to see one get restored
You sir were the coolest person on the autobahn that day. I was also looking for a good e38 last summer, found a manual 735 (the small v8) that looked nice but when we arrived it was in a very bad shape, pictures in the ad were probably 6 years old. It had rust everywhere and it had a noticeable ticking from the chain. I passed on that one. Haven't seen a manual since, anyways great videos and you're one of my favorite UA-camrs=)
Incredible job with the Alcantara installation! You are doing great job with saving these special cars. Love your channel.
The best underrated channel ever .
I really wonder who are the 26 guys who dislike the videos , like this is perfection in motion ! Keep up the good work , i really enjoy watching your videos !!
I had to pause to say how much I appreciated the gluing part. That was brilliant and really helpful! I've always struggled with my technique but what was shown seems a perfect alternative.
Wow that headliner came out so perfect!!!👌🏼
i have a e38 750il that i started restoring now because of your videos, thank you so much for this
Attention to detail that most youtube channels are lacking is one of the reason i subscribed. I own an e65/730d myself would be great to include them on this channel in the future.
Što reći, izuzetan rad, posvećenost detaljima i strpljenje... još ona muzikica iz 80' u podlozi, savršeno! :-) Svaka čast care!
Go on son ! it’s one of not many channels that does the job properly because of passion.
Keep it rolling!
Waiting for next project to be done
Surprised to see how an IT professional can do such an amazing job! Well done buddy 👍
Very impressed with both the work and your patience. Well done.
The things you keep adding onto your skills list keeps on going. Well done, man! That car looks great again!
You always do a very good job in every way. It is a pleasure to watch you.
I also love your ironic comments like "a professional job..as always ." ;-)
I just can say, Klasse Arbeit!! It's always amazing to see you're doing! Don't stop to be like you!
Very complex guy, talented and full of passion for this work!
