- Ballerina Michaela Mabinty DePrince, who performed with Beyoncé and was seen by many as a trailblazer, has died at the age of 29.
A spokesperson announced her death on her personal Instagram page and in a statement her family said she was an "unforgettable inspiration to everyone who knew her or heard her story".
The cause of death has not been given.
DePrince made a remarkable journey from suffering as an orphan in war-torn Sierra Leone to numerous accolades in the world of international dance.

I have been working in Africa in the past 20 years, and worked with war children. The traumas they suffer can be points of no return. Michaela Mabinty bore so much sorrow and yet so much strength and talent, that made her shine through. She was an amazing ballerina and a truly beautiful soul. I am confident her soul is now merged with the love of her biological and adoptive parents who loved her so dearly, and whom she loved back so much. They must be so proud of her. She has been a model in this degrading world. A true, inspirational model, and she'll shine through for all the legacy she left and for all the beauty her soul will endlessly bear. May her soul gain all love and healing she was deprived of in this life.

She passed away one day before her adopted mom. She didn't know her mother's health declined rapidly and her mom didn't know she passed.

Her adopted mother passed away two days before Michaela passed. Broken 💔 possibly. Remember when Carrie Fisher passes and Debbie Reynolds pass away the same week. I suppose it is possible to die of a broken heart.
That's also what I thought initially. Though according to another source the mother died one day after Michaela during a routine surgical Intervention and she never learned about her daughter's death. But maybe there was a health scare concerning the mother that affected Michaela's mental health, the fear of becoming an orphan all over again. 😢

Michaela died on September 10th per her Instagram and Elaine died the day after on the 11th. Rest in peace to both angels

Sadly, there is a medical diagnosis for broken heart. It's triggered from acute emotional and physical stress.
It's called stress takotsubo cardiomyopathy.
Just sharing a broken heart is real, Not diagnosing her cause of transition.

Michaela died first on a Tuesday and then the mom died the next day on a Wednesday. Neither one knew the other had passed. Sad !
