Some serious sounds there, wildlife, ships, all sorts of machinery. Where I live in the west of Ireland it's very quite and lonely. I hardly meet a soul. I could be fishing a beach 4 miles long and nobody either side of me. I'd love a change sometimes, I love the sound of harbours, big ships, fog horns, clanging of metal etc subscribed 🙌
The Battle's nice reel. Been using a pair of 8000 Penn Pursuit IV's this year with 14ft rods to very good effect. I had never bought reels that cost more than £20-25 before. Although they are (heavy) spinning reels the cast wonderfully, easy to clean and service, have a huge capacity and at £58ea on a scamazon special excellent value for money really.
How far do you have to walk from where you can park your car as I’m disabled and can’t walk far or can you get a car or an electric scooter/wheelchair down to where you can fish?
It's about quarter of a mile from where the car is parked down a sheepish hill, I dont think you would be able to get an electric scooter around the road barrier at the top of the hill or right to the stone jetty at the end. There's a couple of easy access marks just before here at one at Hebburn marina and another just along from there known as the second carpark where you can fish right next to your car.
@@fishingintheukgarywood HI Gary, I've been watching your videos for a while now and find them very entertaining and informative. Is there any chance you could add a grid reference or a post code to the area's you fish please. Like Malcolm, I'm disabled, plus I live in the south of County Durham, so it's a canny long drive for me. Thank you. Alan.
I've enjoyed a couple of your videos, just a thought when fishing anywhere at sea or tidal I usually take a spinning rod and just put a scratching rig on with quite small hooks size 1 and lower and just flick out 30 yards. Maybe give it a go see if the fish are in close.
Although originally from the North East I never did any sea fishing. That rig that you clip the hook into? Does it disengage when the lead hits the river bed? Assuming it does and it’s designed to be aero dynamic for casting? Enjoyed the film though
Fantastic to see you back again Gary. Good video. I myself went out 2 weeks ago fished River Tay. Got some really nice flounder and a sea trout . Take care bud. Regards Chris.
hey bud, ive always been freshwater but this year im new to sea fishing... can i ask, the clip you put hook into, does it release the hook once cast in?
Amazing ,thank you for so detailed video 👍😄
Very encouraging to see the small codling. Much bigger later in 2023. I very much enjoy the close-ups of baiting up.
Used to fish here 20 years ago as a lad. Thanks for the video
All on your lonesome there today. Fishing in the Tyne? Who’d have thought it. Thanks for the vid, I enjoyed it.
It's good to get out and catch a couple plus the peace n quiet

Good stuff as usual mate it looked fuc*king freezing though 👍
Thanks mate, aye it definitely felt like a winters day.
good video mate
Thanks mate.
Nice.
Thanks
Love your videos mate, you ever try the river Trent? (Lincolnshire). The tidal stretches can be brutal but some good catches to be had.
Thanks mate. No I haven't been to Lincolnshire before, if I'm ever down that way, I'll give it a try.

Thanks Phillip, yes its to keep everything in line to make it aerodynamic then when the clip hits the water it releases the hook.

Cheers Gary. All on a wessex rig 1/0 hooks on mackerel, mackerel seems to be doing the job up here.
Take care 🙂
Looks like a lovely spot. Does the path continue from there or is that the end?
That's the end from the jetty but you can go up the hill to a path and follow it most of the way along the river to Newcastle

Yes
Hi mate, yes when it hits the water the hook releases.

Nice
Thanks
Nice
Hello, good video. What documents are needed to fish in this place?
Hello thanks, no document's are needed to fish here.
@@fishingintheukgarywood Thanks👍
Canny bag of Tudor!
NICE GENTLE FLICK. goes half a mile.. just found your channel. Do you fish chisel beach or Bristol channel ?.
No, I haven't fished there yet, but I would like to they look like good places to fish.
@@fishingintheukgarywood awesome place to fish. Pump some fresh lug worms . there's good spots around.
Where do you get your squid from?
From my local tackle shop, reelsport.
When the fishing is as quiet as this you should be baiting up 10 or 15 rods.
🤣
What boots you wearing here Gary? TIA
They are fox outdoor ice boots.
@@fishingintheukgarywood Thanks Gary, Look cozy.
