I purchased the entire sound proofing kit and installed it I did not change the muffler The kit was a complete waste of money. It did not reduce the sound ,at all
I did my 2015 yesterday with the black flat panel foam insulation and used a rubber floor mat over the motor. WOW what a difference. huge difference!!!!! Exhaust next.

Thanks...and yes I have done some other soundproofing. I have used actual soundproofing materials. MLV "mass loaded vinyl" and "closed cell foam." This is hands down the quietest Viking out there...best thing I have done to it! Wear a full face helmet and try to talk while driving on DIRT! .. COMPLETE waste of time!! Drive line noise. Wind and road noise kills anything you are attempting to reduce. BUY A JEEP if you want Quite. :)

Got it! Great sound work....any comments on the "potential of lean fuel burning" due to Viking owners wrapping their exhaust headers?? I understand the machine is already a "clean burner" which means it runs lean already from the assembly line... any ideas?
As far a "lean burning" goes. These engines are designed run efficient and lean from the factory. This results in the header sometimes glowing red and producing quite a bit of heat. That is why some folks wrap their headers. The thought is to help keep the heat away from the rear diff. What year is yours? I just bought a 2021 EPS from a dealer but I haven't picked it up yet. Just wondering if they deadened it in later years.

It is impossible to make a Viking quiet even with all the modifications. They are just so loud. Sold mine soon after I bought it.
