We are sisters, Julia and Anastasia - caring for a regenerative farm on Bundjalung Country on the East Coast of Australia. We have a dream to build a self sustainable future and regenerate the land for generations to come. Join us as we learn to build, farm, garden, and care for the animals and land.
We live and farm on the land of the Arakwal and Minjungbal people of the Bundjalung Nation and these practices of regenerative living, agriculture and permaculture owe their roots and theories to Indigenous knowledge - they have been practiced by Indigenous People around the world for so many years. We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the Country we live on, and recognise their continuing connection to the land and waters. We thank them for protecting this rainforest and its ecosystems since time immemorial.

I grew up on a family farm too, which my sister and her family live on now and I secretly wish I could build a house and live back on the farm with my family, like you girls. We have 7 kids and they would love all the space and freedom. Much love xo 🙂

And each of the pretty animals you relate in so close and friendly manner to as well looks happy too! it's inspiring to see how your grandparents created a future for you, I, and my brother(twin) had thought of doing the same thing as your grandparents. we grew up in the inner city on the east coast of the u.s. which means we had absolutely no reason to desire even the slightest bit of life in nature. but after my brother and I had ( by very different means) come to believe in God and the bible we started to search for a simpler life. it wasn't until the past year that we started to see living off-grid and living off the land as a realistic option. the difference is we want to create a food forest that will yield a harvest for other persons who are in need. and instruct people on how they can do the same because, in the beginning, it was this way for all humans. colonization had destroyed that for many generations including my grandparents' who had land in Puerto Rico before the Americans took it over. God bless you may you and ur family come to know the Lord more as you live in his creation and tend to it.

My dad died this year, and it's just me and my mum in England. She misses her ancestral home of India. We have our religious (Sufi mysticism ) and ethnic roots there.
But I'd love to find a place of land to start a life and live simply. Grow flowers, have animals and crops and have kids and make the way of life its own joy.
I don’t know why but it always seemed like you guys had more animals it now makes more sense why you can give each one the attention and affection you do 💕🌿

Such an amazing life, living with the animals and birds but it comes with such hard work. We own a tiny place in the UK of 4 acres and are trying to be self sufficient. Keep up the good work !

What a lovely life you've made for yourselves. I watch your videos and relate to so much you do. I was a goatboy for thirty years, wandering the forest and nearby meadows with my goat herd and faithful border collies. My goats always earned me a small living as well as paying for themselves, my dogs and my two horses. That was a really good life for me. I'm on the retired side of things now, still living in my small cabin on the lower slope of a tall mountain. Now I don't keep animals anymore but I miss them a lot but not the daily hard work. Carrying water, bales of hay from field to barn every year, cleaning out the barn, chores etc. Keeping animals is a lot of work but it is rewarding work. Shepherding my goats was like a dream and I loved it. Often my goats would come to me for pets and scratches like your sheep and goats do with you. I had my favourite goats over the years, like Jumpy, Molly Brown, Patty Cake, Velvet, Star, Gomez, Ma, etc. etc. Now I just grow a big garden, write poetry, short stories, play music on my keyboard and accordion, etc. and pretty much keep to myself. I have a good life in this small, remote, mountain village and I'm glad I decided this was the life for me so many years ago. Your dreams are beautiful and I wish you all the best. I know that when I was in Australia, back in 2007-2008, snakes were the thing I worried about the most. Here in my country there are no poisonous snakes, just grizzly bears, black bears, cougar, deer and elk, etc. but they don't worry me much although I've been at arms length with most of those species at times. Good for you to keep living that life you have. I hope all your dreams come true! Cheers!

Like many here, I also often wondered what motivated U both to live alone (though I have LONG shared your Passion for the outdoors & gardening, growing food, etc.), esp. being single. Hi lovely girls! House boat dweller here! I love your idea for the dinghy although I don’t think a hull that small would be able to hold your cute idea, unfortunately. Hi ladies, I first come across your videos when your post about the floods, since then I have been hooked, I am yet to watch all of your content but what I have seen, has intrigued me so much. The landscape of your families farm looks amazing. Your outlook on life and how you interact with the land and the animals is inspiring, Sharing in your stories has been a wonderful escape, in the recent years I have had a change in my perception of my views of what is important and how I want to live my life which includes the footprint I leave. Your lifestyle is defiantly the direction I would like to have in the near future. I just wish more people were like your family and had foresight in the way they exists and the impact they have on their environment rather than take, wreak and destroy everything we touch just to make a buck and give nothing back. I applaud you on what you are doing and your quite lucky to have such an amazing family farm to continue to live and work with nature. 💚🌏♻

I stumbled on your videos yesterday. This is the 4th or 5th video I watch and my favorite to date. I haven't experienced envy in over a decade until now. I wish I could be part of what you have. The land is beautiful, The gardens are beautiful, the water falls are beautiful, the river is beautiful, the animals are beautiful and you girls are gorgeous. Thanks for the family history and so sorry your dad isn’t with you any more. Both of of were gifted with art don’t give up that gift like I did. I just watched an inspiring documentary on a couple who built a farm in California on land that was in horrible condition. Highly recommend you both watch The Biggest Little Farm. I learned a lot watching it. By the way I never knew Australia had a rain forest and the scenery you share is breathtaking. HAPPY FARMING
