I most recently started playing a swashbuckler cat folk named Milton. He’s a battle dancer who juggles knives as his performance check. There is a feat that allows you to get your bonus damage and use finishers with ranged weapons. I used shruiken as the knives, reload zero is very nice. I also had a butt load of belt pouches full of smoke sticks, caltrops, and sand to throw in peoples eyes. Milton is a fun guy.
I’m new to pen and paper all together, and my first time playing Pathfinder. Have a session going and I made a Swashbuckler with the help of my group. Your videos and their format are so damn helpful. Thank you. Helps me understand a lot better.
@@CollectiveArcana will do! I have subscribed and look forward to your future videos. Here’s one for you!! Can me and my wife play “bounties” together? I was researching pathfinder and came across them and am sort of confused about them. Wasn’t sure if you needed a specific character , or if you made a fresh one at level 1 however you wanted. - or if you could even play through them with no GM? Apologize if you have a video about bounties already. Thank you!
Its certainly different! But very good. Lots of fun tools and tricks, and can pair well with a great many archetypes, and can be a great team player (adding conditions from trip, demoralize, or bon mot can really help your party for example!).
I have thoroughly enjoyed trying to get you to kill Captain Boots this campaign! While I do miss 1E swashy, 2E has definitely grown on me especially as Boots grows as a character. I was worried the "flair" of 1E swash was lost, but there is an abundance of options to keep that flair going to 2E. Keep the vids going! I'm excited for that Kineticist... :)
@@CollectiveArcana Braggart with Terrified Retreat and Derring-Do can easily send 3 enemies fleeing. So very helpful is someone attacks the squishies. It also means that you can someone fleeing on Command if you have panache (Exemplary Finisher to remove Demoralize resistance, tumble, intimidate to demoralize and send fleeing)
I know you're just now finishing up these class overviews so it might be a while before you want to do this, but I think it would be great if you made some level 1-3 or so quick build videos for each class. I know that's a lot of work, but I've had players moving from 5e ask me if there were any quick build guides like the Geek and Sundry guides for 5e. There's a real dearth of quick builds out there, and things like RPG bot are too focused on raw DPS instead of also giving advice for Roleplaying focused builds.
Thats an excellent suggestion! We had already planned to do something in the way of builds, but were trying to decide what we might do differently from what was already out there, and we love this idea!
At max level with no feats to raise move speed panash gives you +50 although when you don't have it you still gain half +25. These bonuses come at level 5, 7, 11, 15, and 19. And thank you
Believe it or not, I took a couple years of French! But I never nailed the accent so I use the Americanized version. Don't worry, I dont pronounce the Z or the S in rendezvous, haha!
Just a Personal preference, but I just think that sqrt2 is disgusting, I don’t like irational numbers. But keep your squares. My family has a 3D Printer so I printed some hexa-grids and put them on top of my terrain, all minis I print fit nice and snug in my hexa-grid.
I love how the swashbuckler was handled! The binary "panache or no panache" is such a good mechanical idea, and simple to keep track of for players.
For sure! I'm a big fan of the design!

That sounds like a very fun character, haha. Deadly juggler!

Thank you! This is the best stuff to hear! We're so glad we could help! Let us know if you have any specific questions!

Swashbuckler was my fav class in pf1e. I hope I learn how to play it in PF 2e. Thx for the vid.

I very much enjoy your format, thankyou for the guide
Glad to hear that!

Yeah, the class switched focus, but not flavor thats for sure!
There is Derring-Do, which focuses on using the style skill.
That's true! But there could have been a bit more incentive to it, I think!

I prefer the 1E Swashbuckler, it is more appropriate to the character idea i'm playing.
Absolutely fair! The class has changed a lot.

Durant has an addition +40 movement speed from being an elf (+30) fleet (+5) and elvish step (+5)
And everyone agrees we play a TTRPG for ROLEPLAY not for this sickness wich Wizard of the Coast gave birth to: Meta and Power Gaming

@@CollectiveArcana 😅 your lucky you didn’t have my French teacher, I guess.
Does anyone else hate squares? Make your battlegrounds hexagonal!
I've invested so much in these square maps though!
