Take your time, man! I never understand the rush for travelers to hurry from one place to another. If you have the time, savor the journey. It's your life, after all, and you're so fortunate to be able to make these trips. Savor every bite, feel every mile, be replenished with every drink, and bathe in the wonder :)

What you said about time - I completely agree. A traveller (elephanttoindia) gave me this piece of advice: If you plan a trip, half the miles and double the time. Hope you won't encounter bears (we probably can't avoid them next week in Romania), Günter/Nürnberg

Seems you lucked into some good, fog free weather on the west coast. It’s a fantastic island home, but being a rainforest, there’s no guarantees of the sunshine you were fortunate enough to experience.

Bamfield is a very cool little town. Not having any paved roads in/out has kept it from becoming to touristy yet. Myself and a few friends were out there last year while on a ride. We stayed in that hotel, due to the weather. We ended up seeing the water taxi, and getting the grand tour from the operator. It was a trip highlight for sure!

As usual great content and top notch camera work, Sterling. Your narrations are so natural too. Nothing forced, just simple thoughts and observations. It makes me want to go back so much. That area of North America has a magical air about it. Quite a bit of rain in the fall and winter but in the summer there's a lot of beautiful days, with very livable temperatures. So so much to explore that it just seems to be made for the adventurers spirit to take in and enjoy. I didn't get to Vancouver Island, and that'll be on my to do list for next time, but the Olympic Peninsula was beautiful. Old growth trees, that looked like they ought to talk to you and give you a history lesson. I enjoyed it even more than the Redwood Forest in California. It's a place that a man could get lost, and not care about it.

So many riders I encounter are focused on getting from point A to point B. But that’s not the point of riding; the point of riding is everything that happens _between_ point A and point B. It’s the journey, not the destination. The unplanned stops, side trips and detours are often as much or more fun than the planned route. My folks spent a year on the north end of Vancouver Island back in the ‘50s, when Dad was with the RCAF. So, Vancouver Island is high on my bucket list! This is a great preview! 😃

Bears!? What's the big deal about Black bears. Now Brown bears or Grizzlys are another matter.
I did most of this same trip back in 1989 on a 1978 Yamaha 750 Triple. Bike was 10-yeas old at the time of the trip which include the 7-western states and a dip into Mexico, most of the western National Parks and Monuments and Speed Week at the Bonneville Salt Flats. We went as far north as you can go on Vancouver Island to Winter Harbor, then back tracked to Comax and took the ferry to Powell River, then north to Lund and Desolation Sound. The trip back to Horse Shoe Bay was Magical with its many ferry rides and all the friendly attention we got while waiting for the many ferry's it takes to get back to Vancouver. The trip was the end of a 7,700 mile 7 plus-week adventure which started in Portland, Oregon and ended there. Images of the trip flooded my mind for months after. The trip nearly completed my Hwy-1/101 adventures from Cabo San Lucas/Lucas to Lund, BC. Years later, I still have a bit of Southern Oregon 1/101 to do and intend to complete that few miles this summer in my Miata. Ride! And get out there for some real adventure and memories you will never forget.

I was thinking of downsizing my GS but, thanks to your good self, I got out and rode her around for a few hundred miles and I'm flaming well keeping her as long as a can get my old leg over! You've probably been asked umpteen times, but what's the amber warning triangle on for? Love your vids, thanks a lot, keep safe.😃🏍. By the way, you have shown me what a fantastic country the US is! Back here, in Scotland, we have a lot of trails...but they're all privately owned (mostly by folk not from here), we're not allowed on them, so only tarmac for me. I'm not that bothered......do not have your skills to ride that big heavy beast off road anyway!😂.
