I just never knew you could make all these things from scratch. This is wonderful! I'm learning so much from you Jessica. Thank you so much. I just love your family.
Hi Jessica I’m new to your channel I’m enjoying all you do with your wonderful family ,our kids are all grown adults living far away I’m happy watching your wonderful family God Bless all of you ❤😊
Left handed here and I had a left handed son too. Life is different as a left handed person and there is a lot of things that are harder to do for sure. Love the soap. I use the liquid Castile soap with water to make foaming hand soap. I have never seen it made from bar soap. That looks awesome!
Powdered yarrow is also great for stopping bleeding -- like styptic powder. If you cut yourself you can sprinkle on the powder to stop bleeding. When we've been working in the yard and cut ourselves, we'll even pick some leaves and wrap them around the cut. It's a great plant.
I am left handed also and I’ve always said it’s a right handed world. Lol My daughter and son are both right handed and I learned when they were young that when I taught them, I sat across from them instead of beside them. That way they got a mirror image from me. It was a great help! I also do that when I’m learning embroidery, sewing, or quilting skills from others. Amazing how this simple solution opened things up for me. Just a suggestion, if you sit the grater on the counter with a piece of parchment paper under it, it stabilizes it and helps you turn it backwards like lefty’s have to do. Hope this little tidbit of info helps your girls.
I love to see homemade products that people have actual experience using. Thanks for also explaining your rationale for each ingredient you add. I didn't know abut using yarrow and dandelion in these applications, so I appreciate the information. Greetings from mid-Ohio!
I wish school had been this awesome when I was younger. Your children are learning the basics of reading, writing, math, etc. and life skills that are immeasurable in their value. I hope they know how fortunate they are in the childhood they're experiencing.
I’m learning so much from you. I was looking for affordable ways to make these last week and gave up. Your recipe is very affordable and makes more sense to do it on this way. Thanks so so much!!! ❤️ you bless me with your videos!
I loved this video! It’s amazing how much you guys do from scratch. I love how you use it all, nothing goes to waste. It’s very inspiring and motivating for me. Thank you so much for this info ❤️
LOVE, LOVE, LOVED this video. I'm headed to my freezer and pull out my tallow now. Thank you for your time in teaching us some of your skills. Very much appreciated. God Bless
Everytime I watch your videos for which is amazing. I am wondering how you manage to get all the things you do and then you show more stuff you do. Your dimpling amazing. I am so glad SARAH FROM LIVING TRADITION HOMESTEAD told us about your all things for August your store put up and all that you do. I love watching Sarah & Kevin and the behind the scene the girls. I truly gonna start canning. I think that would be easy and for your lotion and hand soap. Love how you ladies inspire me. Thank you so much and GOD BLESS.
2 of my boys are left-handed, the other 2 are right-handed. Both my girls are left-handed. My husband is right-handed and I’m ambidextrous- which came in handy during exam time. All my husbands family re right-handed and so are all of mine except my eldest sister and my father! You have inspired/motivated me to get back into making liquid soap again. I used to, and I make our laundry powder. Thank you for sharing your family with us.
I love the idea of the yarrow-infused witch hazel. That would have been great to use when I was raising my three sons and they were famous for skinned-knees.
Im left handed, two of my sons and left handed, and my dad is left handed. We are the only ones in our right mind in our house. Good job on the help, girls.
I’m left-handed for writing, but I do most other things right-handed. When your girls write, do they hook their left hand around? That is supposedly a sign of a very creative person, and your girls are definitely creative! Thank you for sharing your process to make these items, Jessica! I am really enjoying catching up on your older videos. Blessings to you and your family!
Recently subscribed from living traditions and I’m so glad I did. I have learned many things I wouldn’t have thought of before. Thank you for sharing! I really enjoy it.
I used your liquid soap recipe as a shampoo, and it works great! I have long hair like you and have had a problem with it being tangly and snarly when I comb it, no matter what products I tried. It does not do that anymore! The bar soap I use is an all natural vegan one called Sappo Hill soap. We butchered our first cow this fall and I rendered all of the tallow I could. I got soap making supplies for Christmas so I am looking forward to making bar soap and the lotion!! And you can believe I will try it as a shampoo too!
Congratulations!!! Oh, I am so excited for you!! I really enjoyed this video. How you think out and process everything you do and then explain to others is such a gift. I have wondered about leaving wipes in any liquid and sure enough you said "they can mold", answered my thought question. Does your son who loves to cook not enjoy being on camera? I loved watching him when he was baking but haven't seen him for awhile. Your children gain so much life practical lessons from you it will so pay off when they are grow not matter what they chose to do. One of my sons is a bank vp but he can also jump on the tractor level a pasture, run a fence line, raise any animal of choice, fish and hunt. Life skills are worth everything.
Wow, she’s gorgeous! So very beautiful. I love her sweet personality. Jessica you have an incredible amount of knowledge. You are very blessed by the Lord
I’m just learning how to make homemade skin care products. I’ve made calendula salve for the past 2 years from home grown Calendula and high phenol organic olive oil, bees wax plus essential oils. I just love it .
I love how easy your tallow balm is. Every other lotion recipe I have found or tried uses so many hard butters and such. These can be harder to source. Can’t wait to try this recipe out. Thanks for sharing.😊
That hand soap seems great and I think that lotion would be perfect for the person who works outside during the winter. What a skin saver. Thank you so much for all of your turoials!!!! I now have my sister watching your videos!!!!!!!
You are such an inspiration. I literally look forward to all of your videos, Instagram posts, etc. daily. Your story on the last video was very touching and I admire your commitment to the Lord! He is using you to reach others in a powerful way. I would ask one thing, selfishly. Would you please, please write a book? Please pray about that! 😉 I would buy it in a heartbeat and treasure your wisdom! Many Blessings, Jessica! PS, I’m left handed too and can remember my first grade teacher slapping my hand as well and trying to get me to use my right hand. It didn’t work!
Your daughters are so very impressive!!! So beautiful and talented AND SPECIAL (LEFT HANDED)!!!! Thank u for always sharing your family, life, faith, & love..... I am learning so much just watching you and your family. God Bless Jessica!!! 💜💙❤💛💚
Lefties unite!!!!!!😻 I never had a problem at school but did with my mother. This was many years ago but getting caught using my left hand would get me the hazelnut switch. This did result in my ability to use my right hand for many things but some things like using scissors I’m in a no man’s land. I love to sew but my scissors have a very short lifespan.when using right hand scissors apparently the way I am holding them is applying pressure to that joint that holds the 2 pieces together and after a few months of usage they will pop apart. With left handed scissors i end up hacking repeatedly without success or causing a fraying of the fabric. If I would just spend some dedicated time to train myself I could probably become normal on one hand but I’ve just never done it.
Thank you so much for this video! I've had problems with a growing rash on my face for some months due to masks and am looking for the most natural way to keep my dry skin clean and hydrated. I'd love to see a video showing how you make your castile soap. I live in Ireland and it's very expensive to buy in our health food shops.
Ok, now I’m going to be curious until we find out whether Hannah is left handed! Genetics is interesting! And lavender is my very favorite, Elizabeth! You’ve inspired me to make my own liquid soap.
I was left handed but I broke my left arm when I was 5 so I learned to use my right. I have 2 boys one is right handed the other is left. We have gone to a great store in San Francisco called “the leftorium” a few times to get some spiral bound note books and left handed scissors.I managed to take a picture of him every time. It always made him feel special and I got some great pictures
Hi, new subscriber here. I am enjoying exploring your channel❤️ I homeschooled my children so your videos are bringing back many happy memories 💕the years fly by so quickly!
Since I discovered your channel a few weeks ago, I have watched it regularly. I love every aspect of it. I do have one wish. When you prepare several recipes, for example, as is the case with this great one on DIY skincare products, I wish you included timestamps. Perhaps that's a difficult thing to do--I'm no techy, so I really don't know how hard that is--but if it's fairly simple, it would be helpful. Sometimes, when I need something, I don't have time to re-watch the entire video to find a particular topic.
I agree with the right- left hand statement. My eldest son who is 40 had this same problem with his teachers. I was not a mom who would tolerate such behavior with and from an adult. I Will just say we never had an issue after that and I’m a proud mama of 2 left hand boys. One 40 and the other 21 🥰
I'm SO glad I found your channel Jessica... I'm learning a lot from you. Thank You ❤️☺️. Everyone stay safe and God Bless you and your family from middle GA 🙏 Kendra
Go lefties!! I'm the only left handed one in our home. It has its challenges, but it also has its perks. As I cook or have a project I have things laid out opposite of my right handed husband , it's always nice because he stays out of my way. I have also found it helps me think outside the box. My husband I are both right handed. 2 of our 8 kids are left handed. I was such a struggle when I was teaching them to write. I never realize how different it is to be left handed. Great video. 😀
I must say I relate to your daughters with being left handed and all equipment being made for right handed people! But it does eventually get easier with practice luckily :) the biggest revolution I had was treating myself to a pair of left handed scissors, soo much easier to use and better much better for my hand!
Thank you 🙏 all this wisdom. Will definitely try an beats paying for almost same clean 🧽 product sold on QVC lol !! Blessings to you an your PRECIOUS FAMILY!! God Bless Janie D 🙏🙏🙏
I used tallow, coconut oil, olive oil for my bars and the same for liquid soap. It's so creamy and conditioning. I have not made creams and lotions though. Idk how I missed this when it came out. Thank you
Love seeing the kids learn to do by doing! That's how I raised my kids too and you'll be happy that they are so willing to try things out when they turn into adults. Lots of my friends asked me how I raised my kids. Where did you find that soap dispenser? It's pretty and would fit into our homestead decor really well.

Absolutely love your channel pretty lady! Always inspiring & encouraging. And neat to somewhat get to know you through another platform! Have been in prayer for you & your family 🧡❤
I have been haveing a few health issues lately and I have found out that myy skin hates urea on it.
Washong with water helps, and i us and anti fungal cream. You wipe solution seems good too and dose the same but without chemicals
Thank you for sharing!! Will be trying your lotion and liquid soap. I love making the things we use from scratch.
Thank you for teaching me how to made soap.
My mother is left handed..amazon has a large selection of left handed kitchen supplies.left handed pens etc. Wal-Mart n target also carry left handed scissors....my grandfather said mom was a "southpaw'
Very cool. I have a cheese grater that looks like that. I can move the handle to the other side of the drum for lefties.
I love your videos, I am learning to do this, I want to learn how to make everything from scratch, thank you very much, and God bless 😊
I am excited to try these.
Love this video! Definitely going to try the liquid soap.
Loved these non-food videos too - thanks!
Great recipes! I was wondering how long will the baby wipe solution stay good in the jar? Thanks for another wonderful video! Your helpers get an A+! Thanks to both you and your girls!
It will stay good in the jar for a while. It doesn't last long here, so not sure exactly how long. We use it up within a few weeks.
Great teaching video, ty
maybe adding a little bit of vinegar to the mix could help with the mold issue? Maybe even make a lavender vinegar .... or if lavender isn't available near you, some other flower that is good for skin. apparently apple cider vinegar is good for skin. I don't really know ... I'm very new to all this. I guess I'm more asking. I'm also thinking that this would be good for adult wipes. I help care for people who use them and I'm trying to find ways to replace things. I'm really enjoying your frugal mindset. Thank you sister!
Great video! Hello neighbor, from southern MI
What wonderful information! Thanks for sharing. ♥️
Thank you for sharing this information.
Great video! Thumbnail photo did you make the (? Window) curtain or is that a shout curtain? I’m interested in learning more about that lovely piece of patchwork and seeing more enlarged view :)! Blessings
My daughter, Grace made it for me ❤️
Do you have a substitute suggestion for a plant based product in place of tallow? I’m also wondering whether you dehydrate your dandelions before infusing them into oil. I heard placing non-dehydrated flowers in oil will cause the oil to go rancid.
You could use coconut oil. Definitely dehydrate any plants before you infuse oil. You don't have to dehydrate for things that are alcohol-based like the witch hazel or vinegar-based. But oil will definitely go rancid.
Another great video! Thanks Jessica! I can’t wait to get our beef fat back so I can give that tallow based lotion a try. My son has very sensitive skin and needs a good moisturizer in the winter. Any idea how long this recipe is shelf stable for? Will it go rancid quickly, or last for a good part of the winter? Thanks for sharing all your knowledge with us!
Should be shelf stable for six months
You truly are amazing!
You are amazing people ❤️. Love watching your channel. ❤️
