SO nice to see other people using ALL of their food products! I have been doing this for over 40 years and its nice to see someone else realizing the savings and benefits to using EVERYTHING! Your children are learning so much from all this as well! Thanks for another fantastic video of your hard work and your wonderful children helping!
i have been doing it a while even tho i live in the city and my friends think im crazy but i like canning
You energize me! I think I’m busy but then I watch you, and how much you accomplish; and I think to myself, “yeppers, I need to get busy-I’m not busy at all!”
Thank you for caring enough for us to take the time to share!
You and your skinny family are perfect examples that animal fat does not make you fat!! Thankyou! Its too bad more people havent realized this!!
You are amazing!!! I love the idea of browning all the meat in the oven. I would have been standing at the stove with a frying pan....need I say more!!!!! Love your GREAT videos!!!!! Love that you are teaching your children and US so much!!!!!! Please keep up the GREAT work!!!!!!!!!
I use my big electric roaster to brown huge batches of either ground beef or sausage. It works amazing & the flavor is great!!
Never thought about using the oven. Thank you.
What a breath of fresh air!! Your amazing patience with your little ones allowing them to help with everything you do and the glow on their faces in their accomplishments are priceless. Your waste not want not lessons is a reminder of how my grand parents made it through the depression. You are so valuable at how you pass on your knowledge. Huge blessings my younger friend!! My daughter in love so enjoys you on your other platform and is always saying "Jessica is doing or Jessica said" this or that. So you bring pleasure to the young and older.
Now that you've preserved all this beautiful food, I would love to see how you cook with it. Thanks for the great videos!
Yes! Great idea, I’d love to see “what we eat in a week videos.”

One of the things I admired about my grandmother Reba is that she did not waste things. I see that you are a lot like that. You are an inspiration.
I love hearing all of the noises from the kiddos! I actually thought it was from mine at one point. Thanks for the meat canning tips, and the waste not, want not attitude!
You are a born teacher. I have been learning some new tricks. I agree with you on canning hamburger without seasoning, much more versatile. TFS
I remember helping my mother canning tomatoes when I was a little girl...I loved it. She also taught me how to sew and cook. I miss her dearly.
I make my own Taco seasoning too. The layers remind me of the colored sand you would pour into different shaped bottles at the fair.
I'm so excited to know how to can this meat!!! I learned so much today. Thank you Jessica. I look forward to the school videos.
I use the pepper jelly in a stir fry with chicken, and or shrimp.
I'll have to try that with my jalapeno jelly.
I freeze the leftover fat until I have time to render a lot at once. As for the beef broth I often use that in my dog food. Otherwise I put my dehydrated bone broth in the dog food because it is really gelatinous and our old dogs need it.
I always save my broth from my meats but I didn't know about saving the fat off of cooked hamburger 🤦🏼♀️ I've always dumped it. I save bacon grease religiously so I'm excited to learn about saving the hamburger fat as well. Thank you.
Amen 🙏 Amen 🙏 so true!!!
1st time canning hamburger today! I use the fat in my homemade dog food, same as home rendered lard. Making room in freezer for hopefully 3 deer!
I’m hoping for 3 deer too! Making room. 🙏🙏 hope we both get em
Would you consider sharing your homemade dog food recipe? That is something I would like to try next.
1 day food for 30-60lb dog (divide into 2 feedings)
4oz meat (including organs liver, heart, gizzards, kidney)
8oz cooked carbs (oatmeal, rice, overcooked pasta)
8 oz cooked veggies with some orange (carrots, sweet potato, pumpkin) some leafy green (spinach, kale) some misc
1/2oz fat (tallow, lard, coconut, olive)
Many recipes out there are by supplement companies and list their product in ingredients. Per a vet, if these measurements are followed and orange and green veggies included, the only supplement needed is calcium (which can be made from crushed washed dried eggshells). My dog drinks milk so I don't bother with that.
I scale this up and make 2 weeks at a time and freeze half for freshness. If your dog isn't liking it, add low/no sodium boullion powder to it. They usually will with it included.
Good luck!
Couple more things. I add turmeric for joint health. My 13yo dog has been eating this way for 4 months, no weight loss or gain, no real difference except much easier on her elderly teeth 😂
We are also dairy free. I would love to see how you make your dairy free products. Great video. Thank you.
I've always saved the fat from ground beef to save some of it for tallow. I carefully pour off the fat from the bits from the bottom. Whatever is left goes in the jars of meat. (btw...It ain't grease til it hits the floor...lol). Many people don't realize that there is valuable collagen in there. When I can 10# of ground beef at a time, I don't fuss if there is "too much" fat in them. It seals so well anyway. Love the taco seasoning recipe. You do such a good job.
so happy to see your children praying. your a blessing Sister.
Your worker is so cute!!!
Suggestion, mix your taco seasonings in a big bowl and then use your funnel for the jars to fill the mason jar you keep it in. Less powder mixing and it’s easier on your cute helpers 💙 thank you for your videos blessings!
OOOH hot pepper jelly!!! That stuff is great on a toasted bagel and cream cheese, too. Try some beet powder to make it red.
Using a whisk will make mixing easy. Such a joy to watch your videos
Your videos are so refreshingly wholesome Jessica. Thanks for sharing what you do with us xx
Jessica you. are a wealth of information.😊
I have learned SO MUCH from your videos!!! Thank you so much for sharing. God's blessings to you and your sweet family.
This is also a good way for hunting trips hubby is going on a week trip to the other side of the mountain and now he can take jars and wrap them in towels and then they can just pour everything in a pot and eat .no waiting .
i did not know that you could can hambuger until now Thank You For Sharing
Beautiful jelly. You touched my heart when you said corncob jelly. When my mother was alive, she made it. You are the first I have heard that makes it. Bless you.
Such an interesting video, I will be looking forward to the homeschooling video when y'all are back into a good rhythm with school.
You can glaze a little over chicken or add to BBQ sauce for a kick. Also add a little to stir fry veggies with sesame oil.
Thank you so much for all of the helpful information! I love that you waste nothing. You are very thorough; I had several questions, but you ended up answering every single one. I am definitely going to work on being brave enough to start pressure canning now. :) I do want to make my freezer meat shelf stable. And even though it sounds like a lot of work to can up all that meat, it is also a lot of work to thaw & cook meat 7 times; I'll bet if you did the math for the whole process including cleanup, it would end up being a timesaver!
Love your videos...so easy to understand and canning now.. hope you keep them coming...thank you!
Just a suggestion an old-time potato masher would work great for that
I love your outlook on life, I'm learning so much from you! Thank you for sharing your family with us❤️
Hello sweet beautiful blessed family I so appreciate you and your sweet children their little helpers I had five children myself one was totally disabled so he the big kids learn to help with the other ones and they swept up and they did all the things around the house even though I was busy I also worked outside my home I was always taught by my granny that waste not want not so I always would put little pieces of this and that in jars in the refrigerator and then I would make a stew out of it I'm more vegetarian now I do eat fish not can fish but fresh salmon about once a week and we do eat eggs we always get the kind that are from Happy chickens they're not caged in but cuz I have a touchy stomach on a lot of things but I so appreciate the similarities that we have and God's blessings and thank you so much for taking a salon with you as as you work throughout the day I so appreciate that I wish they'd had stuff like that when I was growing up but I did use old cookbooks that my I inherited from somebody and just love your channel very much and God's blessings to all of you 🙏🏻💜🥰🏄🏼♂️♥️🐱🙏🏻💜🙏🏻💯
Thanks for all your good tips!
Always - I find something new to learn in your videos! Thank you!
Blessings to all!
You're such an inspiration
Thank You!
I didn’t know you can can hamburger meat .
God Bless you
I have canned hamburger meat right now in my pantry. I also canned a bunch of ground turkey that I found discounted a couple of years ago. I went to the store one day and they had marked down ground turkey packages to 99 cents each. They were 1.25 pounds per pkg. I bought the 15 they had in the case. Then a lady that worked in the meat dept. Saw all those pkg. In my cart. She asked if I wanted anymore for 99 cents each. I said sure. She said they had 2 more cases of them! So I got 48 more! She asked what I was going to do with it all. I told her I was going to can it all. She didn't know you could do that. I'm still using it 3 years later. Think I'm down to 12 pints now. Always on the lookout for cheap meats to can.
Love these videos. Thank you!
I really enjoy the weekly videos! 😃
I love your vlogs and family! God Bless!!
Thank you for the great tips you shared in this video.
You are an inspiration! Thank you for taking the time to post videos.
I love the simplicity and the explanation. Thank you and blessings to your family.
its always nice to see you have great helper
You have the sweetest voice! I love listening to you take care of your home and family.
Great video Jessica. I can lots of meat. Its just so handy, like you said....a fast food on the shelf. I have canned chunks of moose and elk and pork and have also done burger and meat balls. (didnt care for the texture of the meat balls) Anyways a really good video. PS using every little bit of the animal also shows respect to it too. We try not to waste any of it either.
This was a great video, thank you.
What a great idea.
thank you so much !!! i love watching your videos, I have learned so much!
I love watching you and your family. 😊

Your videos are amazing. Prayers for you and your beautiful family.
Thank you for sharing another informative and fun to watch video, I'm stuck inside with heart issues and severe asthma so you're a blessing to me, enjoy seeing the children help as well, thank you, God bless
Your awesome to take the time to let your kids help
Great way to use up everything you can. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🥰🤗
When I can ground beef I have done it without adding water but I have always included all the fat and juices instead of draining that off. I have only done it with 85_90% when that has been on sale since I only have so much freezer space. I am in the city and buy from the grocery store. Over time it does settle down so that when I open it I have to use a butter knife to break it up a little before i can shake the rest out of the jar but I do like the flavor a little better than canning it with water. I had one person express concern feeling it was a safety issue. Recently opened a jar that was 3 years old and still tasted great. I’ve never had a single jar go bad in all the years I’ve been doing this and think it is just personal preference. If I am making a soup base I will add onion and celery to it before covering with water to can. There is a difference in flavor with or without water just as there a difference in flavor of tuna canned in water versus canned in oil.
I really appreciate you showing us these techniques. I am learning alot. Thanks. Great videos!!🌴🌺
North East Ohio here... Really enjoy your video preserving food. Cute kiddos🌸
Hiiiiiii Jessica..... happy Sunday to you and your family. It's always a blessing to see you!! 🌸🌹
You’re amazing and I so enjoy your videos.
Hi Jessica! I am new to your channel and love it! I love to can but am learning so much! Thank you for sharing with us!
I enjoy all your videos!
Thanks for a great canning video. I’ve been wanting to try hamburger meat and the beef broth idea is a bonus. Thanks again! Even an old timer can learn a new thing from time to time. 😀
Thanks for posting. Very informative. You have motivated me to finally pressure can some meat🤣.
So pepper jelly on chicken and burgers like cowboy candy
I saw someone add the red pepper jelly to chili and sloppy joes like brown sugar and hot sauce combo. Sounds yummy!
Very interesting. I appreciate you teaching each step. I have done a lot of canning but I have not canned meat.
Elizabeth and Levi are so adorable. I can ground beef the same way, but I do add salt. I love canning meats. Like you said, so easy to prepare a meal. However, I didn't know about saving the fat. I'm doing this from now on. Thanks.
Love this video
I’m really enjoying your channel.
I'm glad to hear I could have used water in my burger. I used onion soup mix. Thanks
Looks Delicious, I have canned this many times and chicken and chicken broth , pot Roast and Pork Roast.
Love your tshirts, Jessica!
Thank you!!!!
Thank You !
I bought some hot pepper jelly and wanted to know how to make it.
I would love to see a video on your cashew cream cheese!
I love watching your children helping you. Your wooden scoop spoon is awesome. Please share where you got it!
Love this, I am canning Half a batch of strawberry jalapeñoAnd half a batch of blueberry jalapeño jelly today. Also half a batch of peach jalapeño and half a batch of pear jalapeño. Jelly today. I also use this for chicken and beef. In a Chinese type meal! And pretzels and jelly as a snack, the cassava pretzels at aldi are amazing with the jelly’s.
When I make pepper jelly I always add some finely cut peppers.
That makes it too spicy for my children. They prefer it this way.
You are amazing!
I was wanting to learn to can meat, thank you.
Hot pepper jam is very good. It has peppers (i use red sweet peppers), jalapenos, I put 8 oz of raspberries. It needs 1 T more of pectin then regular recipe. Getting fruit, flavor & color naturally. With a vita mix you can liquefy any seeds.
Oh I did corn cob jelly to this year
I can't wait to see the home schooling. Enjoyed watching this video. Suggestion Some evening make the Bierocks with the Hamburger. The children would enjoy making them. God-bless you and keep you all safe. If you went Recipe. Just let me know. It is a German Russian food. Everybody loves them.
Great fast food
Love your videos and your little family. So well mannered and eager to learn. 🙂 An absolute joy to see now days. Just a quick question,,, what would be the easiest thing to start off canning. I should have learned this years ago,, anyway, I would live to can just not pressure cooking..that scares me.
Very enjoyable I've watched a couple of your videos now and just realized you are here in the same state as me.. I'm in the capital. We don't eat beef but would like to at some point try this with ground turkey or chicken. Anna In Ohio
I absolutely love your T-shirt!
I FOUND A NEW BROCCOLI SALAD.. SAME INGREDIENTS JUST ADD GREEN SEEDLESS GRAPES. VERY YUMMY MY GRANDDAUGHTER (10) LOVES IT IN HER SCHOOL LUNCH..
GOD BLESS from West Central IN Farmland ✝️🇺🇸🥰🚜
Cranberries in your pepper jelly are delicious.
I have just found your channel and love all the information that you give out so freely!! We will be moving to a different place soon and I will have the advantage of having a large pantry so I was wondering where you got the shelves that hold all your canned goods. They must be industrial strength to hold all that weight with the filled jars.
I have canned ground beef both raw and cooked. I like cooked beef or pork better because I can take a lot of fat out. I did some plain, some taco, and others sloppy joes. I also made meatloaf. I canned them dry but I see that the water would be good too.
Good Morning,
I love your videos. Thanks for taking the time to post them. Would you ever post a video how you make gluten free bread. My son is gluten and dairy free. I have an electric grinder, but I haven't been able to make him a good loaf of bread yet. If you ever need help with your bees I run about 375 hives in the summer and condense down to 360 in the winter. Thanks again!!
Just finished my azure October order
First time I've seen meat canning. Thanks!
I would like to hàve your taco seasoning recipe
I was listening to this and half watching it while doing barn chores. From 20:10 to 20:35, I happened to be away from my screen and didn’t know what I was listening to. It really reminded me of horror movie sounds, like I was about to hear Jessica come back and tell me I was going to die in seven days.
😂
