Now that I saw that entire Smash Documentary it's really cool to see this legendary matchup. There rivalry is pretty damn historic in the Smash Community haha.
Honestly it's not much of a rivalry, Mangos record against Hbox is soo much more 1 sided than any other rivalry within the top 5 with possible exception of Armada vs m2k. Mango m2k and mango armada are better rivalries for sure.

The point is a rivalries value does not necessarily have a direct relation with their win/loss ratios against each other. The win/loss ratio can certainly effect the value of a rivalry, but you can still have good rivalries even if it tends to be more one sided.

Man, Hungrybox really knows how to make a comeback. His fight with Armada seemed to lean against him losing, but he won. He was pretty close with this one, but he made a few bad moves. Amazing EVO finals.

***** That's not ALL that choking is though. I'd say in common vernacular it would also require the subject to suddenly start performing poorly due to the pressure. That didn't really Happen. Hbox just started performing BETTER. A comeback is not necessarily synonymous with a choke.

This is the best I've ever seen Hbox play, amazing.
And there still playing on the old fat TVs. Not even an HDTV. That's how OG these guys are. Melee will always be the best competitive fighting game
Air Espenilla HDTV's have some input lag for melee, CRT's however have no input lag associated with them. You need a CRT for advanced Tech

No, OLED and Plasma TV's do have input lag (www.displaylag.com/oled-4k-2014-input-lag-results/) And I do realize I said "no input lag" but I shouldve said "virtually no input lag" because CRT monitors have no place to store the frame data so it doesnt have any lag. Unless you count electricity being the lag. And it wouldnt even be in the microseconds. That would be still to long.

Bit of a moot point, but the last game was well within H-box's grasp.
Look at 14:08, where I can only imagine he screwed up the usmash out of shield. Instead, he stayed in shield too long and got killed.
14:19, gets baired, and immediately tries to strike with a fair. He knows that'll never work. Then a mindless forward+b, followed by DI into all of Mango's moves. Nair nair usmash isn't a combo unless you DI in there.
Just goes to show that it's not out of Hbox's reach. Amazing play by Mango, though, especially out of shield.

Hbox i think he is just more comfortable standing up. It's kind of nerve racking being in the Grand Finals of one of the biggest tournaments in the world so i sympathize with Hbox.
He stands up so that he can be slightly behind his opponent and he can see what they are going to do by looking at their controller, At least I think that is why I've only heard that's why.
***** He didn't stand during those days. You can literally see him do it like 4 times in the past year. The one I remember offhand is his last stock vs PP at zenith. I've seen it a bunch of times though and I've commented on it like everytime I've seen it responding to others that point it out lol.

I can't stand Mango but hungry box acts like an elegant prick at times, I remember once when mango won the tournament afterwards mango obviously was over joyed at success in spite of hungry box, and hungry box just sat in the chair being a sulky mess, not to mention he pulled in the fact that he has a much better education or something in an interview.

Before i get a shitstorm of "you dipshit you dont know shit so shut up" I dont play competitively, so I wouldnt know the reason as to why it seemed fair that someone used fox against a jigglypuff, I get that these guys are pros, but to me it seems extremely uneven, especially with a character like jigglypuff.

If you don't know competitive, that's fine..While she may not look like it, jigglypuff is a VERY strong character. Rest, her silly aerials, her insane DI, they add up and make jigglypuff one of the biggest pains in the ass in the game.
fox is the most common character in the game, so it's not that they're using him against jigglypuff specifically, just against everyone. jigglypuff is also top tier in this game but the thing is she's considered "gay" to play against/as and somewhat boring in most people's opinion so very few jigglypuffs exist, the exception being this guy (hungrybox)
That was not Mango outplaying Hbox, that was a showcase of how Fox is just amazing against the Jiggs matchup. Fox won that, not mango.
Although I can't take anything away from any of these amazing players, I can say that the Fox vs JIggs match is not a good one for Jiggs. I believe in Puff and Hbox though. They just keep getting closer each tournament.

Yes, that explains how Hungrybox normally destroys Fox players and Mango along with maybe Leffen and M2K are the only Fox players who've been able to beat him with any sort of consistency.
I still think the matchup is a bad one, which does in fact give mango the edge over him. Hbox, in my opinion, is just as high of caliber as a player as the rest of the big 5. The skill gap between Mango and the other Fox players is quite noticeable too.
