My dad, my brother & my eldest nephew are drummers. I’ve wanted to play the drums my entire life. The men in my life don’t take me serious, so thank you. Now I can start doing something with my sticks!

I was already impressed but the fact that he was switching hands was incredible
I mean, thats what you do when youre learning rudimental drumming. These rudiments are popularly found in the book Stick Control, which as you doing everything starting on the Right, and the Left, because why wouldnt you when you have 2 hands?
:)
Im not a musician, why is that incredible?
@@wecbarnardincredible is maybe a bit to extreme, but it's way harder for most people to play these with their weak hand
@@wecbarnardits not, switching your lead hands around is one of the earliest things i was told to do in band, esp when practicing rudiments. But the idea is intimidating to most non drummers.
It’s how you’re supposed to do it. It’s not really “switching”
I watched this one minute tutorial just once and now I'm a Pro drummer
The triple flam-tap-amecue has been my go-to warm up for years
That 11th rudiment was bomb.

he really does look a bit like hagrid with the hair and the beard, huh!?
I like that last one, really tight that one
if you listen closely, for all the rudiments except the stroke rolls, when he is playing them you can almost hear the words assigned to each rudiment in the drum playing
Ok im learning drums right now, perfect timing no pun intended 💚sex
Drummer of 15 years here, that’s awesome to hear! I know rudiments and exercises like this can seem boring and pointless, but it will drastically improve your timing, your fills, and your overall playing. Also try doing these with a metronome, and slowly upping the BPM as you feel more confident. Keep on jamming!

Seeing those notes and hearing them played brought back so many memories
I'm so glad my teacher forced paradiddles down my throat every lesson, every practice, every rudiment became easier after. half an hour of non stop paradiddles at different speeds and if I wasn't in perfect sync with him we would start all over again. being 22 minutes into a paradiddle marathon only to fuck up was heart breaking for a while.
Each inch of hair is a year of experience.

This takes me back to my drum lesson days that I failed miserably at and had to perform in front of 8 people and I had a melt down, being a kid is rough hahaha

Never let them know your next move
I love when wizards provide drum education with the beard and hair 😊 love you dude
i love these shorts always points me in the right direction in terms of practice please make more of these so i can be god drummer !!
thank you!!
The number of videos you watch isn't going to improve your drumming ability. Only great practicing will do that. If you can practive with other musicians ( the good ones at least) that too will make you a great drummer. Or someone who gets mocked without mercy, but that will vary with the musicians.
Thank you for this drum tutorial
Why this is so soothing😭😭
I zoned out watching this and everything was gibberish until out of nowhere I just heard “sex”
Idk why, kinda expected him to start going into paradiddle. Paradiddlediddle. Paradiddlediddlediddle. Paradiddlediddlediddlediddle…
In Japan, there’s the game where we can learn all of skills in this video. That’s “Taiko no tatsuzin”.
Bro can do a paradiddle faster then my dad can leave!
Most people need to see the slow motion tap
This opened my understanding to how drummers are able to construct their parts in songs. Early in learning how music works, appreciate the video
Jesus loves you!!!
Charlie Watts and Mick Fleetwood should of been the only 2 musicians allowed to play that instrument
lol the ending caught me completely off-guard
You have amazing talent. Your performance made my day. Thank u.
Every time I see your vids, I look over at my drum set and am like, "Yeah I feel like playing," and then see it's midnight and I have to go to bed.

Spent almost 10 years as a percussionist in school and trying to paradiddles faster that slow, I always got tripped up 🤣
I have always loved that you can hear the tones of the two sticks
Trust me, u can’t. If a drummer is playing a paradiddle on a snare and u weren’t looking u couldn’t tell
@therealbritishcrumpet that just isn't true m8. Maybe in metal music. But when you're playing softer you can tell.
you just made a former pops orchestra percussionist want to go listen to some marches! awesome examples my good man. peace to you 🥁
Drumline is good
the single stroke roll is so satisfying idk why

As a drummer I can do all of these rudiments but never knew how they looked on paper. Thank you for this❤️❤️
I found this surprisingly captivating.
Love your simplicity brutha. The best.
Bro it sounds like tribal war music, and I love it😭
tribal music?
I was really about to dismiss this short but after the closing argument I'm determined to master rudimentary drumming techniques
Those were beautiful. I wish I could have had that clear instruction when I first tried to learn this stuff. Maybe I wouldn't have had to struggle so hard. (My teacher was a euphonium player who had to take on the percussionists because my small university didn't have a percussion expert.)
This guy is probably a better drummer than most guys in a famous band
hes very good but i definitely wouldnt say that
Pretty sure those drummers practiced these on a regular basis too, even if it's not in any of their popular songs. Drummers become drummers cause they enjoy doing it, not just to do the bare minimum to make a living
@@val.6724 im a drummer myself and i have never practised drumline things like this. when i drum there is usually no time when i use both sticks on the snare, let alone even hold the sticks like this. the way that guy is drumming here is very different from how one would drum with a full set. i am not discrediting this guy in any way, he is just a professional in a different category.

Very interesting, I'm learning more about music!
I like this. He is straight to the point and doesn’t disappoint. Fantastic!

Damn, I didn’t think Samus would have worked up French rolls being a drum set player. Respect!
As a non-drummer, this is very satisfying
The way the words 'Paradiddle' and 'Ratamacue' make my brain feel nice.
Thanks man! Drumming seems like the easiest instrument to play because of your videos
thank you so much!!
all instruments are easy with enough practice but yeah I would say its a bit more simple than some wind instruments just because you dont really have to train lungs and whatnot but idk about easier per say
It's always fascinating to discover there's a name for something you've experienced all your life, and that was ten in a row!
I legit thought I was hallucinating when I heard him at the end.
the ratamacue and the drag always tickle my brain during parades when there’s a percussionist thing.

Thank you very much!! My Dad took me to a Aninals as Leaders concert in Detroit a few weeks back. Matt annihilated the drum set, unbelievable. He encouraged me to stay reading rather then just living in a pocket. This is Superb usage of visuals. Back to decoding red miso ❤
