Hi, I don't suppose you know anything about a B1606 81 Battery State of Charge (SOC) Unit - Configuration Fault on a 2014 Peugeot 508 2.0 HDI 163 Auto? The car has been code free for 16 months and scanned weekly using an Autel but some wheelspin exiting a wet junction triggered multiple dash lights including the loss of ABS/ESP, hill hold and clunky auto shifts to name a few issues, which either took days to disappear or to be cleared - the car had 30 codes after this event but nothing for the obvious like a faulty wheel speed sensor. A corroded ABS fuse on the battery fuse panel was identified, which was replaced and no problems since then, so we're hoping that fuse was the cause of the dash lighting up but we still have a permanent B1606 81 code, which will not clear and appeared when the dash lit up. It has been into Peugeot and they don't have a clue and I have posted on the Peugeot forum who are non the wiser. Any ideas much appreciated.
What you say about the vehicle speed information being passed through the ABS is interesting. We currently have a Citroën C3 that's showing the same fault lights as this: braking system faulty, ABS system faulty, anti-pollution faulty... and the power steering drops out as well, although there's no warning message for that. As soon as these error messages come on, the speedometer (digital in a C3) just shows two dashes and does not indicate the speed. Is it likely, then, that it's the ABS module that's faulty in our case? I know you can't say for sure without seeing the car, but in your opinion does that seem like it would be the most likely cause? And is there any way I can test that without a proper diagnostic tool? Thanks.

I wonder does vw have Peugeot Parts or Peugeot vw parts. I bet you said bloody hell when you saw the rear brake. 😁 you live for stress. Great vid thank you.
It’ll be Bosch or something like that. Most modern car companies don’t manufacture most of the components, they just outsource everything. Of the thousands of parts on a car only a few hundred will actually be made by the car company itself.
Must have been a serious local power supply failure, for that IC to get such a hole burned into it. Probably got the whole battery voltage. It's not all that clear on the video, but on the other board you've showed, just between the burned IC and the two TO-252 packages (32N055 FET and the other diode?) there are 3 small black diodes with holes in them too?
It could also be bad EMF protection from the coils, or overload in some part that end up overloading the uC. Sadly, although it is a freescale part, it is Ate proprietary. But in general there is a serious design issue in this module.
1 more thing bro ,get a bleeding kit were u dont need someone to pump brakes, its just a little bottle with a hose to catch fluid and stops air returning to cylinder ,you just pump the brakes yourself ,,time saves money or should a say makes money hahah well done bro ,:)
You can get an used module for less... 😋 Been through a lot lately trying to get chips... Specially from outside the UK... Less and less it is worth the effort and frustration.... Well... thank you for watching and for your comment!
Please help! I have STOP ABS ESP power steering and no odometar reading and speedometer not working. May electronic part and pump be disassembled for inspection to see if there is any corrosion and reassembled or when once disassembled cannot be used anymore? What is interesting is that the faults always go away after few minutes of driving, and pressing the brake pedal after some time all faults are gone and immediatelly after releasing brake pedal they show up and after 1-2 minutes of breaking and releasing faults do not show again. Some days faults do not show, and there are no rules they show in dry weather as well but more in wet however. I could found the same code pump and I dont know what to do. Any help will be highly appreciated. I checked all wires and pins everything looks fine.
Hi You disassemble the unit to inspect etc... But before that, check powers and grounds at the unit plug, check also that communication lines are healthy... That testing ok, then I would suspect the abs unit at fault... As for programming, as per the video... 👍👍👍
@@LMAutoRepairs I checked everything looks fine. What code is important on the module so I can get another one? Here says: ESP MK60 CEM 00 10.0960-1170.3 00401635D0 What am I looking for in this codes, I coudnt find the exact one, I wonder if other code fits?
You should have a 96... number... That's the peugeot part number, and the one you should try to match... Or at least get a unit from a similar car etc... Part numbers change through the years due to small modifications etc... and still compatible... 👍👍👍
Comon issue with these... You can also get a non start from this and an easy check would be to loop out the abs unit and if the car starts you know it's the ECU 😉

As far as you are 100% sure when to add power or ground...😋
I like the test light... way safer...
The power probe has its applications for sure... I use it every now and then...
Thank you for watching and for your comment!
@@LMAutoRepairs excellent :)
Very good video Luis.
thanks for the knowledge
why not try to change the chip??. I believe it exists in the Chinese market
Possibly... and probably more expansive than the used unit....😋
👍👍
@@LMAutoRepairs it would be interesting to see the repair with such a small IC and the procedure needed to be done after the replacement.
I found that the IC costs around 10€ to buy from china
Yes...
I have been through hell buying chips from China lately...
😓
I wonder does vw have Peugeot Parts or Peugeot vw parts. I bet you said bloody hell when you saw the rear brake. 😁 you live for stress. Great vid thank you.
It’ll be Bosch or something like that. Most modern car companies don’t manufacture most of the components, they just outsource everything. Of the thousands of parts on a car only a few hundred will actually be made by the car company itself.
LoL...
👍👍👍
I think it is an Ate module, the freescale chip with the hole , has Ate logo. Ate is big brakes german manufacturer. No need to go to Bosch.
@@ikocheratcr Bosch make them too like that but yes this was an ate i think mk70 which is a load of rubbish
Hi can you copy mondeo bcm from one to another
Yes... depending on the sam, and on the tools you have...
IDS can do it as well...
Thank you for watching!
@@LMAutoRepairsI mean if I send both to you. I have given to someone but he's saying he can't do it
Eres muy bueno, el problema es la traducción no entiendo inglés pero eres muy bueno
Gracias!
👍👍👍
Must have been a serious local power supply failure, for that IC to get such a hole burned into it.
Probably got the whole battery voltage.
It's not all that clear on the video, but on the other board you've showed, just between the burned IC and the two TO-252 packages (32N055 FET and the other diode?) there are 3 small black diodes with holes in them too?
It could also be bad EMF protection from the coils, or overload in some part that end up overloading the uC.
Sadly, although it is a freescale part, it is Ate proprietary. But in general there is a serious design issue in this module.
I have the problem with electric power
It stops sometimes when I drive on the road
1 more thing bro ,get a bleeding kit were u dont need someone to pump brakes, its just a little bottle with a hose to catch fluid and stops air returning to cylinder ,you just pump the brakes yourself ,,time saves money or should a say makes money hahah well done bro ,:)
👍
Thanks for the video mate 👍
Thank you for watching!
Just to let you know they sell those chips on Amazon UK for 30 pounds..
You can get an used module for less...
😋
Been through a lot lately trying to get chips...
Specially from outside the UK...
Less and less it is worth the effort and frustration....
Well... thank you for watching and for your comment!
@@LMAutoRepairs where do you get them from? I need an mk70
Please help! I have STOP ABS ESP power steering and no odometar reading and speedometer not working.
Error codes include:
U0500
U0121 multiplex absence of communication with ESP
U0122 multiplexing communication with ABS
P0704 clutch switch signal or not coherent
P1536 brake switch signal or no coherence between swithes
U1113 no communication with abs or esp
C1408 no vehicle speed information
I could not find the exact same pump (with the same code), do I have to remove it to see code at the front of it (electronic part) and does it need coding if some other code pump and electronic part is placed.
Hi
You disassemble the unit to inspect etc...
Here says:
ESP MK60 CEM 00
10.0960-1170.3 00401635D0
What am I looking for in this codes, I coudnt find the exact one, I wonder if other code fits?
You should have a 96... number...
That's the peugeot part number, and the one you should try to match...
Or at least get a unit from a similar car etc...
Part numbers change through the years due to small modifications etc... and still compatible...
👍👍👍
Comon issue with these... You can also get a non start from this and an easy check would be to loop out the abs unit and if the car starts you know it's the ECU 😉
Thanks!
👍👍👍
Is there anyway to wire the plug so to trick the ecu that there is no fault? Something like an abs delete?
Hi my friend I have a Peugeot 207 none of the fault codes will clear, the code keep changing I can't seem to work out what the problem could be.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Regards
Oliver
What do you mean codes keep changing?
What tool are you using to scan the car?
Thank you for watching!
@@LMAutoRepairs
Thank you.
I had anti pollution light with the EML & ESP light on I changed the o2 sensor cleared the code and it was, then ESP light come on it was showing various codes including thermostat sensor, change that cleared codes it was fine, then ESP light came back on and will not go off and will not clear codes and there's a lot of different codes, also engine management malfunction on the dash.
I am really stuck I wouldn't call my self a mechanic so I guess I have no hope.
By the way I really enjoy your video's you are a very good mechanic.
The engine codes will cause the ESP to come on...
So, sort all the codes/issues with the engine first... ignore for now the ESP faults...
@@LMAutoRepairs I live in Bexleyheath are you close, I tried another diagnostic on the car today I can't get to read the ECU.
Do you think I should scrap the car?
I can't tell you to scrap the car... lol
