@@ninmarbob Sounds like a dumb idea to name it with that with Wind Waker HD, but this is Nintendo we're talking about, and they do dumb ideas no one wanted yet for the most part, they sell millions. Paper Mario Origami King for example gets heavily hated by the fans from back in the first two Paper Mario games, yet it sold so many copies of it. Because of that, I think Nintendo might rerelease Starfox Guard, which nobody wanted as everyone hates Slippy. A good example of his uselessness is in Starfox 64, where not even 5 minutes into the first level, he's stuck under enemy fire and you need to rescue him due to his terrible combat piloting. All he was good for in Starfox 64 was showing you the boss enemy's healthbar, which you don't need to see to be able to win. I totally agree with you. I think Nintendo will bring Nintendoland to the switch. Imagine if Nintendo brought it to the switch with online gameplay...it would be a hit. Itll be like a live interactive amusement park.
For what little it matters you can count me in. Also Guard is a good game that does use the Gamepad in a meaningful way. It's a great proof of concept that tower defense games would have worked perfectly on the Wii U.
Quite honestly I would have loved to play Star fox zero. The controls seem like a hassle but there is nothing wrong with them. The game seems fun so I would be in.
It's a game that had potential, a bit derivative yes, but the core mechanics worked. But it always circles back to the control scheme. Once you got used to it they were.... adequate, and I'm not opposed to games with motion controls like Skyward Sword or Kid Icarus Uprising. But it got to points in Star Fox Zero where i became so frustrated with the controls that I turned my console off mid battle during the boss fight on Fachina, and against Andross.
I recently played it myself and there is a fun game to play. But there are times the game hurts to play. Like why the fuck is the barrel roll mapped to the joystick
I wholeheartedly agree. The Zelda remakes, XCX, and Nintendo land deserve a switch port. To the other games I can't say anything cause I never played em

My favorite game on Wii U was Affordable Space Adventures, it utilized the game pad so well and multiplayer story was so much fun. I don’t think it could ever get ported to switch, especially since it was a third-party title, but it will always be one of my top games
Yoshi’s Woolly World is one of the reasons I’m thinking of getting another Wii-U. I loved that game. It was just fun and simple. When I didn’t want to think a lot and just enjoy playing a game, it was the one I’d go to. Just relaxing to me. Right now all I got is a regular Wii. Also I want to play Breath of the Wild.
Although the Wii U was a failure I am very happy to have one, it was one of the consoles that made me most happy and it was the console that had some of Nintendo's best exclusives, besides I had the chance to play Breath of the Wild on launch day, I was able to play many games like Super Mario 3D World and Bayonetta 2 years before Nintendo if you want to think about bringing them to the Switch, I don't think I need to mention the promotions from that time too, even today I remember at the launch of Mario Kart 8 when I got Pikmin 3 totally free and there were Nintendo Selects with games like Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze for $20, nowadays it is unthinkable to see any Nintendo exclusive for less than $60, as times have changed... thankfully I was able to enjoy it.

"Wii U was a horrible platform." "Please let us play all the Wii U games!" I seriously don't understand how no one wanted this console when everyone loved it's games. It was gimmicky and the controller wasn't for everyone, but I always found a lot of charm and personality in its gimmicks, and got used to the controller.
I'm not sure if I'd like the game on the Wii U itself, but I've really enjoyed emulating it on PC (with both windows displayed on one screen, making it a lot easier to glance between the two). The gyro aim is a very cool and useful feature, and it helps make combat so much better in All-Range Mode.
@@hahasamian8010 Yeah, I feel like that was the big limiter on intuitiveness for the WiiU, the fact that by their very nature the two screens couldn't be locked in your view like with the DS systems. Just too many variables for the human brain to get used to in casual play.
Same. I keep feeling that the same game, retooled for single-screen play, would be seen as an excellent StarFox game and one that would top Starfox 64 easily. It was such an expansive game, with which rarely people played it long enough to unlock the dimensional gate stuff. For an arcade-style space romp, it was a pretty large game.

It severely lacked third party support especially from EA during their "unprecedented partnership" days of the Wii U.
@@nickdude07 That's true, though if the 3DS hadn't been successful enough to buffer the Wii U, I feel it would've had a much faster turnaround to the next console.
It won't be like the GameCube or Dreamcast because the list if exclusive game left on it in a few years will be very small. Even if you count the multi platform games where the Wii U version had touchpad functionality it wouldn't help since they are still not the best versions of the games.

I really hope The Last Story comes to Switch one day. One of my favourites and still disappointed we never got a sequel.

Indeed, albeit a good weird :D

All I need is Wind Waker And Twilight Princess And I’ll be happy
Yeah and all they need to is port them to switch, since they previously improved the textures on HD release.
I just hope they tone down that light bloom in Wind Waker HD.
@@EyefyourGf No they shouldn't port them because the Wii U exclusives need to stay. They make up the Wii U's value. What I'm saying is it would make the Wii U less, *Special*
Yeah I've wanted to play WW for a long time, I'll be pretty happy if they end up bringing it to the switch

I'd argue it took the spiritual place that the Mario Party would have taken, if it wasn't marred by the controversial single-car mechanics.

Nintendoland is SO underrated
I totally agree with you. I think Nintendo will bring Nintendoland to the switch. Imagine if Nintendo brought it to the switch with online gameplay...it would be a hit. Itll be like a live interactive amusement park.
ikr!! that game is awesome.
My cousins and i had so much fun with it
Honestly, the Switch needs more Mii games *period.*
Over three years later and Fatal Frame is the only one of these to be ported!
Nintendo Land really was so special, wasn't it?
(also you have an amazing voice)
I still own my Wii U for 1 game: Affordable Space Adventures.
I still have not bought that one. Looks like a lot of fun.
@@MrMikander trust me, it is.
bruh... love that game. What a great comment!
FINALLY! SOMEONE AGREES WITH ME ABOUT STAR FOX ZERO!!!!! THANK YOU JON!!!
@@facepwnagewtf totally agreed, those motion controls soured the whole experience. I also quit mid Andross fight, so your not alone there.
This time they could even remake Skyward Sword, it would work perfectly with the switch joycons.
@@souljastation5463 well if you have played galaxy on the switch the motion controls don’t feel the same as the wii
@@HelixJuice no, I didn't, I hope they work better, do they?
@@souljastation5463 So the Switch controlls arent bad. Far from it, but they just dont feel the same as the Wii. They work fine and I didnt have any problems playing it. But you do have to get used to it.
I wouldnt think that Skyward Swords controlls would be bad, but just not as good as the Wiis
@@eliotisconfusedaboutyourpa8105 Then I think I would be happy with it, it surely would be better than stripping out motion controls entirely.
My favorite game on Wii U was Affordable Space Adventures, it utilized the game pad so well and multiplayer story was so much fun. I don’t think it could ever get ported to switch, especially since it was a third-party title, but it will always be one of my top games
I wouldn't call it my favorite but it's a pretty good game. and unfortunately it will be lost forever when the eshop will close next yer.
For me it's one of the best 2D games. The gameplay, the music, the visuals, everything is great.
For me, Wooly World comes pretty close to Yoshi's Island and both are among my favorite platformers ever.
I’m so glad I’ve had my Wii U since 2012!
Same
Although the Wii U was a failure I am very happy to have one, it was one of the consoles that made me most happy and it was the console that had some of Nintendo's best exclusives, besides I had the chance to play Breath of the Wild on launch day, I was able to play many games like Super Mario 3D World and Bayonetta 2 years before Nintendo if you want to think about bringing them to the Switch, I don't think I need to mention the promotions from that time too, even today I remember at the launch of Mario Kart 8 when I got Pikmin 3 totally free and there were Nintendo Selects with games like Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze for $20, nowadays it is unthinkable to see any Nintendo exclusive for less than $60, as times have changed... thankfully I was able to enjoy it.
@@MoonSarito The Wii U wasn't a failure in my book! It was the only console that I played during its lifetime, so I got the full experience! I really had a fun time with it, and I still play it every now and then.
The comments are so wholesome
Totally same. Play mine constantly!
He forgot Devils Thrid :( I honestly love that game and wish Nintendo would release an updated version fixing some of the problems it had

I would love Xenoblade x, nes remix, nintendo land and the zeldas all coming over to Switch as my personal choices
At that point just..... get a wiiu. I still have mine and will never let it go. It’s got 80% of the switches “exclusives” and they’re 1/3 cheaper.
@@hinoname3954 I do have a Wii U and all the games I mentioned. I just want them on the switch for portability and because they're great games that deserve some love, which unfortunately due to the Wii U doing poorly, they never really got. I do love the Wii U still though
I played the entirety of Star Fox Zero in Co-op and it was one of the best experiences on the Wii U. Having one player as a gunner and one as a pilot was an absolute blast and I can't recommend it enough if someone is looking for a fun multi-player game.
Jon looks and sounds so much happier - we love to see it! Also, where is my Xenoblade Chronicles X HD for the Switch, Nintendo?! 🥺
Takahashi was too busy making the DLC bait that is Xenoblade 3
NINTENDO! FOR THE LOVE OF GOD-PLEASE RELEASE XBX TO SWITCH

Xenonblade chronicles X is a must on switch ! Its My favourite Wii U Game!❤️
Xenoblade Chronicles X is one of my favorite games of all time. It's enough of a reason to get a Wii U.
Nintendo life: there are still games left in the wii u
Nintendo: write that down, write that down
😭We still don't have Wind Waker or Twilight Princess HD on switch😭
Well Nintendo just sent me a user survey for Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition and I used this opportunity to ask for a Xenoblade Chronicles X port. :P

11:44 Yoshi's Woolly World has one of the best Amiibo feature ever!
Playing as 2 Yoshis at the same time is just amazing and so much fun!
Plus, YWW shares a sad story with SMM1: they both had Amiibo costumes from a lot of franchises but their sequels (Yoshi's Crafted World/Super Mario Maker 2) don't!
A wise man once posted on Twitter that he was gathering Xenoblade X footage for something. I see this is what it was for
"Wii U was a horrible platform."
"Please let us play all the Wii U games!"
I seriously don't understand how no one wanted this console when everyone loved it's games.
It was gimmicky and the controller wasn't for everyone, but I always found a lot of charm and personality in its gimmicks, and got used to the controller.
"Star fox Zero is a good game" Thank you!! Another soul who likes this game I though it was very good
I'm not sure if I'd like the game on the Wii U itself, but I've really enjoyed emulating it on PC (with both windows displayed on one screen, making it a lot easier to glance between the two).
Ikr, I loved that game to death.
I’m interested in Xenoblade X, fatal frame and the Zelda remasters. I would definitely buy those games.
I'd love to see XCX come back, but I feel like it'd have to come with changes to multiplayer, notification system and balancing of classes.
Leave long swords alone 😂😂😂😂
I want that game for new system to leave no doubt how amazing that game was or a XCX2.
@@IISuzakuII Bruh I mained Longsword, I know how Bursted that thing was XD. Most classes couldn't match that dmg till sometime late game.
Longsword? That's an odd way of spelling dual guns - ghostwalker
@@thomaseggen4480 the perma evade build is broken also, but more of a late game thing. Game overall is pretty bad at balancing. Still super fun though.
*_#1 Banjo Kazooie...oh wait_*
Still missing Link's awaking 2: The quest to save Marin from being trapped as a seagull forever .
I didn't realize what a cool system the Wii U is. I remember buying one for my son about 10 years ago.
Correction: XCX is extremely unlikely to come to Switch. They've already stated it's too expensive and have no intentions of doing it.
But they also said that in 2017 or 2018. Things changed a lot from back then. Considering Xenoblade 2 just surpassed 2M units worldwide and Xenoblade DE is selling pretty well, I think this may have changed.
Specifically the testing part because of how large the game. Xenoblade is slowly moving up the ladder of most popular jrpgs so at some point the port cost can be justified but who knows when
The cost of carthridges to go down. Nintendo is probably waiting for the cost to go down
Pushmo NEEDS to be on switch. I just need it. Really good puzzle game, and any puzzle game that lets you make your own puzzles is an A+
Please, nintendo, for the love of all that is holy, please port wind waker HD to the switch already. It looks absolutely beautiful, and I just want to relive my childhood nostalgia in HD
Buy a Wii U.
@@princessjulieta those are going to be rare systems
Get an emulator.
True nothings impossible to get like for example I can still buy a new Ps3 controller for 20 bucks. Also Wii U doesn't have a emulator.
I remember when Derrick made a list like this back when the switch came out and nearly every single one came out except Xenoblade X.
In addition to these I’d also like Deus Ex: Human Revolution and Batman: Arkham Assylum to be ported over.
Those are not Nintendo
@@souljastation5463 they are both games released for Wii U
The deus ex games should come to the switch
Xenoblade Chronicles X is awesome! Looking forward to seeing what Zelda games might be ported to Switch this year.
Jon from DKC3
I'm really hoping for a Nintendo Land sequal.
While "Xenoblade Chronicles X" is by far one of the games of my life, I would love "Tekken Tag Tournament 2" and "Tank! Tank! Tank!" to make the jump to the Switch.
don't forget just about every N64, GBA, DS and Wii game available on the eshop that hasn't been ported yet.
I literally just bought a Wii U last night b.c of that. Excited to also play XenoBlade X and the Fatal Frame game I just found out about in this video.
Watch all of these be on switch by the end of the switch’s life
I missed the whole Wii U era, and honestly, I feel like I missed a lot. Hope the Switch revives the whole experience.
Same...
Btw nur der BVB
Wii U was a very unique idea but sadly marketing and third party support hindered it. The fact that there have been so many games that people want on Switch highlights that it had a great library overall imo.
ua-cam.com/video/Z5UrU2psZwg/v-deo.html
@@heavydonkeykong5190 tbh, if the Wii U had consistent third party support, I think the 1st party library would be considered the best of the era. But with no other releases asides from that time to time the console felt very empty some times.
@@MrDiana1706 true. I think this video shows how much of a cool idea that the Gamepad was too.
Yoshi’s Wooly World needs to come to switch right now
Yeah. It was adorable and really intuitve.
Yah after watching the video today I started playing this game again and it’s so good
I'm from the future, and there are still no Windwaker and Twilight Princes on switch
turned on my Wii U for the first time in years and I was immediately hit with the feeling of "this is a console experience". Switch after 5 years still feels like a tablet with apps
Nintendo worker: WRITE THAT DOWN WRITE THAT DOWN!!
The two Zelda ports, Nintendo Land and Woolly World are the only ones that I’d still want ported to Switch. The rest I don’t care about.
Skyward Sword should be part of a Zelda compilation imo.
This guy was thinking windwaker and twilight princess would be on the switch 3 years ago. What hopeful thinking
Those sections in NES Remix where Link is in Super Mario Bros and Toad in Legend of Zelda should be the basis of it's own game where you play through classic NES games with characters from other games.
this guy seems so nice, I didn't expect to enjoy the video as much as I did. just wanted to thank you for this video and your work dude!
I love Nintendoland so much, glad it was on this list.
After listening to his sultry bass tones, I never imagined he'd be a young, t-shirt wearing, honest to goodness gamer. I imagined an older, hired voice actor with little to no gaming XP.
Shows you can’t judge a person by just their voice
still waiting on Wind Waker, Twilight Princess, and Xenoblade X 😭
Jon! You're such a joy to watch. I really hope we get a Zelda collection this year
Doesnt seem like nintendo is going to have a zelda collection. Missed opportunity +
It blows my mind that Wind Waker and Twilight Princess have not been ported to the Switch yet. That is legit just throwing away money on Nintendo's part.
2 yes later, still wii u exclusives :(
Literally debating getting a wii u basically for these 2 games
I have a feeling the Wii U is going to become the next GameCube or DreamCast
The GameCube didn’t sell super well but it at least had a decent lifespan, but the Dreamcast comparison is definitely valid
@@Danbo22987 Dreamcast was around for one year, the Wii U was relevant for roughly five (four and a half). It had some decent games, was more powerful than it's competition at launch (360 and PS3), but quickly became overshadowed the following year with the Xbox One and then PS4.
@@nickdude07 The Dreamcast, was released in Japan in late 1998 and it stopped getting games in early 2002 , (though a few small japanese games from time to time kept getting released there until like 2007), and it did get a more than solid third party line up in those 3 years, unlike the Wii U
I love how energetic Jon is all the time
It's weird that the Nintendo costumes for fatal frame won't even be on the switch version
