Hi MD and I am Very New to this Aquarium Hobby So I really Need Your Help
So I Got a 6 Gallon Tank Recently Dimensions Are : 15.74Inches x 9.05Inches x 9.84Inches
(40cmx23cmx25cm)
and I also Got A Good Internal Filter and the Temperatures are also All right as I Live in India my Water Temperature is around 26-28Celcius.
And I Wanna Buy A Beautiful Looking And Hardy Fish.
So can you suggest Me Fish Please
Many Suggested Me Bettas But still I am not sure If I should get bettas or anything else.
Which Fish do you Suggest Me?
And Thx a Lot😃
@@Covid--be6pi Is it planted tank
@@sadewarosh6690 not fully but it's going to be a planted one with Java ferns and Anubias
@@Covid--be6pi betta fish or some neon tetras best for your tank
@@sadewarosh6690 ok thx for the suggestion.
learned a trick from watching Takashi Amano - trim off all the leaves on the crypts before planting. the plant was moved, it's in shock, so first it will spend all energy in root growth, then leaf growth. By cutting off leaves before transplanting to a new tank, it causes the plant to regrow faster. thus eliminating crypt melt.
This
Yup. I tried that after watching one of the videos and it does work.
It works 👍
Awesome comment
Yep! Alternatively, with this being a fresh setup, you can just let it melt in there and use the ammonia from the melt to cycle the tank. That's usually how I cycle a new tank if I can't insta-cycle it for whatever reason
Bro the reason its so easy to catch your fish is cause they know they going to a better tank
Yeah lol

Not sure if anyone else has mentioned it but your bottle trick for the HOB filter is absolutely genius!
My wife punched me in the shoulder and screamed "that's how we fix tormy's tank!" The way it went over the plant was amazing.
Wow, a tank of chili rasbora and cherry shrimp is exactly what I’ve been planning for my next scape. Thanks for the set of instructions.
Crypts melting is completely normal whenever you move them. You're considered lucky if they don't melt. For future reference, they would be done melting and return with new growth in less than a week if you had left them. Only required maintenance would have been to get rid of the melting leaves :)
Surprised also that he pulled them out for that reason.
I was lucky a few leaves melted on mine, but they are growing back in and spreading a bit.
I always plant cryptocoryne on setup to help get ammonia in the water for the initial cycle..
Crypts, plus bladder snails, plus fish food, plus some guppy fry... not instant, but reliably works in about a week for the first stocking of actual inhabitants
I love chili rasbora so much colour in a little fish!
Same here lol
Wow, such a simple build turned out fantastic!! I love the colors. Now I'm thinking about making a chili rasboras tank with cherry shrimp!
Same here lol or green neons
I just got a mix of shrimp, and chili rasboras to go along with them. First time with such a tiny fish. Guppies are normally the smallest I go. LOVE them. Wish I had gotten more of them honestly. They are so tiny I don't even know if I got them as adults or juveniles (the place I got them from is known for sending people fry/juveniles). But they are soooo adorable lol. No more thinking! Just doing. You won't regret. If you do, send them my way ;) lol
i might get a smal, school of chilli rasboras for my 15 galllon 😊
Because of MD fish tanks, my aquarium gave birth to two more tanks! Hahahah! Hello from the Philippines! Thanks for the inspiration.
yep, my tank is about to give birth, and a racking system ensures there may be sextuplets coming in a few months....eek!
Can't believe you pulled those Crypts out after a few days.
It's quite shocking that you've only just experienced melting crypts.
He hardly ever uses cryptocoryne... usually he is jamming in Java fern for that bigger leaf
Nice to see the chili rasboras getting more space! I would love to see a larger school of them in the tank, but I'm excited for whatever you end up pairing them with!
Can we just start officially calling the leftover substrate base layer the "MD Method"?
It’s the MethoD bro
Being thrifty is not being cheap, it's being smart using what is already there...and it's quite obvious this choice works very well !
Apparently if you cut all the leaves off the crypts when adding them to a new tank it avoids crypt melt bc they grow adapted to the new tank
I know your setting up for instant impact, but with crypts,i cut all the leaves off and shorten the roots. When the leaves grow back,no melt.
Hey MD, in case you didn’t know, you can usually just cut of the leaves of any crypt to prevent it from melting. Jurijs Jutjajevs has a video about it called ‘How to avoid Cryptocoryne melting after planting’. Hope this helps!
omg that filter tip with the plastic thing !! you’re a genius i should try it 🤯
I know this tank feels "routine" for you but I LOVE it! One of your best I think. Love rasboras too. Small is beautiful!
That’s such a nice scape, hope your doing well during the pandemic stay safe.
thank you. Yeah doing better than ever and hope you are also doing well.
*watches MD plant an entire garden in a nano*
It was nice knowing you Manzanita wood
No one seems to have more joy in this hobby and in making videos. It’s inspiriting to watch and listen to you!
Trim the current growth on your crips prior to transplanting. Leave the newest 1 or 2. Speeds up the process of assimilation. You were half way there
Do a feeding all my fish video.
Plzzzzzz
All your fish tanks are beautiful.👌 great work. 😊
This little tank would look great with Blue bolt shrimp!
Love the Chili'n Rasbora tank! Great video as always MD! 👍
I wouldn’t have removed the crypts. They do that melting thing 100% of the time I’ve moved them. They always come back though.
Good information 🙂
Normally id just leave but didnt want to spoil the final shots with melted plants 🤣
@@MDFishTanks "for the 'gram bro" lol. Turned out great though 👌
@@MDFishTanks dude whats the photoperiod?
@@MOOREK031 12 hours. I have that for all my aquariums
That thumbnail makes it look like you're doing lines of Chili Rasbora.
Hi MD, thanks for giving the Chili rasboras a little more space. Btw they love blackwater and colour up in it. Have a nice evening. Greetings from Germany
PS: The crypts will grow again.
I am so awful at getting the background on the tank to not have bubbles despite following all the tutorials. You do it like every week no problem 😅
hi. Spray more soapy water on the glass. completely cover it.
@@MDFishTanks That’s what I’ve been told! I’ll try even more next time, thanks!
@@julianaquascaped I painted the back of my tank with acrylic paint in a nice dark blue and love it. 2 years later and there are a few scratches, but nothing horrible. WIll use paint from now on. It just scrapes off with a razorblade. I didnt like the first blue i used, scraped it off and went a bit lighter and loved it. I used a nice small size extra smooth roller brush, worked a treat.
@@pattieboy5861 Nice, thanks! I considered painting mine black, but I decided against it because I want more depth and a brighter tank (especially because mine is already quite shadowy). I didn't really want a color background either (although I like the idea of white to light blue gradient). But thinking about it for a future tank! Also curious if there is some sort of clear paint coating that gives a similar effect to these stick-on transparent/opaque backgrounds.
I love the songs you use for your vids 🙂🙂
Ember looks so pretty in the background
Tweezers From You MD Will Be My Dream Come True! 🙂
Watching you build a new Nano just makes me smile at the end of a long day
This is exactly the kind of tank and stocking I have been planning for months!
Its really hard to get any of the plants/fish where I live in the US so I just have to go to the local fish store a few times a week with my fingers crossed!
Oh I love the ‘detail’ rocks you used in the foreground after the MD Method!! Very interesting look. Beautiful!!❤️❤️
So happy to see that filter placement is a common issue for everyone. Gorgeous tank, I'm excited to see this because I just picked up a few Chili Rasboras this week myself!
The crips do that when moved. But just pip them in one of your plant storage tanks and they should come back fine.
WATCHING your videos from SRI LANKA
Love this tank! The color of the rocks and pebbles look great with the plants n fish.
Okay MD, I want to see that tank on the bottom left with the marimo and what looks like java fern
That platy tank looked very nice.
This is a lovely, light tank. Thank you!
Awesome Tank man, Perfect lunch time video.
Awesome looking scape as always bro! Your tanks are so sharp looking! Your videos inspired me to get a tank about 5 months ago and now I have 5 already! I'm hooked and can't stop! Absolutely love your designs though!
One of my favourite fish: chilli rasboras 💖
Chillin with rasboras
Beautiful fix for the hang on filter outlet!
Man..your hardscapes are really beautiful. I have been watching all vídeos..congrats from Brazil!!
Like your easy going attitude MD regarding the wonky tanks. Just a joy to watch your videos.
He makes that 5 gallon look massive!
Nice filter diy!
More amazed by this guy facial hair care than the tanks. Big up to him since he definitely has Mediterranean roots.
Beautiful!
Really beautiful!!
MD, you mentioned that the new Chili Rasbora tank was a bit low on fish, put some killifish in there. Rocket killifish would contrast with the reds of the Chili Rasboras and I think it would look great. Keep it up man, love the vids!
Awesome scape
So simple, yet one of my favourites!
I have the same rack and it does the same thing, since my tank have rims and just fill the water till you can’t really tell 🤣
Nice!
Indostomus crocodylus is a really interesting nanofish

@@michellegray6597 I did for many years. I don’t have room in my house now, but I do enjoy seeing them get built
I am always in awe of how beautiful your tanks turn out.
Discovered your channel recently. Starting up my first aquarium @ 63. Thank you for a great informative, inspirational channel. I shall have questions later and I Hope that some of your subscribers w/aquariums will be able to help me. Cheers medears!
This is why Jurijs cuts all the leaves and plants the crypts. It makes sense to do it that way. The roots are fine and healthy, just the leaves melt away and shoot new growth, so we might as well plant them with no leaves. That way no melting issues and we see new leaves straight away
Thanks your education , Simple & Easy to Apply
You are an artist
Wound up here because I was looking for ideas for a 20 gal "nano" tank as a shrimp breeder while also being a good looking piece to have on my kitchen island, thanks for your video.
Awesome scape and really cool fish!
I Liked the Video as soon as it started. As if it won't be good!!!
Such a cool tank I just got myself some chili rasboras they are awesome little fish. Beautiful scape as always md.
Amazing job dude
Nice scape. I've heard people remove the leaves from crypts before planting to avoid that problem.
Your voice is so satisfying. I literally went to sleep😅
1) what filter did you use? 2) how often do you clean the filter? 3) what other fish can you put in the that tank? 4) how do you maintain both fish and plants alive and flourishing at the same time?
Looks great mate
Why was this so satisfying?! And very intertaning🙂 keep up the good work!
Best channel about acuariums by far... And also good for learning some English 😂💪💪💪
If you trim the roots of your crypts, it's way more likely to melt than if you plant the straggly things lol
that tiny cute rasbora!
This makes me want to set up this 5gallon I bought from petco💚💚. Awesome video as always
Of all your recent tanks, I seem to like this one the most! I guess I like Chili... Rasboras~! All we need are some Nacho Rasboras, and... well not snack time. Such a nice, balanced looking tank!
Cheers from Arizona!

You have inspired me to do nano aquascaping I have 4 13L tanks to practice my aquascaping.
As soon as I saw the notification that you had uploaded I cam here so fast. I love your vids and the tank looks awsome
Big fan of your channel, inspired me to do a dwarf gourami tank
Beautiful
You should try roseline barbs! Beautiful fish and super peaceful! They do need a bigger tank. But that means bigger aquascaping!!:)
This fish is widely found in Indonesia, precisely in my area, Sumatra. And my friend also often sends it abroad.. Very beautiful for a small aquarium
As I was watching the filter part, I thought how my old bottle splash guard trick would make it work on the back, then you went and did it.
