I managed to find some neocaridina cherry shrimp that I didn't know I had. So why not set up a new tank for them. I'm using dragon stone and a crushed lava rock gravel substrate which should work really well.

What kind of filter do you keep in these shrimp tanks? A sponge filter or hang on water filter.
MD, you’ve made me go from a tank that looked like a trash can to a tank that looks like nature where all the fish are breeding. Thank you!
How am I getting this many likes…MOM I’M FAMOUS!!!!!!
Yoooo let me see the tank post it or something..
How?
How?
How?
You are making a lot of people addict on the hobby! Keep the great work
He's also helping some of us not make more tanks we don't have the space for by letting us live vicariously through his new setups 😂 I've just been maintaining my tanks, I love them so much I have no interest in tearing any of them down, so I get my new tank fix from this channel 😁
He inspired me to try all this type of stuff and my goal is to make a filterless turtle tank I have not seen anyone do a real good successful one
the amount of skills ive learnt from watching, has come in handing and now i always find myself using your techniques and get great results. keep it up and thank you for the videos
I started doing my Saturday morning chores including laundry and here I am sitting in the family room recliner watching MD design another awesome tank! Priorities😂🤣😎🥰🐟🌱🐠🌱🇺🇸☕️
I like that you use a variety of stones. It makes me way more natural looking. Whenever I go anywhere where there are a lot of rocks, I don’t think I ever see just one type.
If the tank has a name, you know its gonna be a good tank
I call one of my tanks “The Asian tank” because I have an Asian themed aquarium ornament as well as fish from that area and my husband looks at me like I’m crazy😂
Thanks, MD, for always being a source of knowledge and inspiration in the aquascaping/fish-keeping world!!! 🐠🌱🐟🌱🇺🇸
@@valeriee9532 🤣 everyone else finds us weird
One of my foster kittens just watched this with me, who knew tank-set up would be her thing? 😹
It's bright and colorful and even has little prey moving around the screen! No shock there!
She's looking at growing her future dinners.
I have always wanted to make a tank like those on your videos, at the time I’m still unable to do so…
Your videos give me the sense of peace im seeking. Truly thankful for what your works does.
Oooo, I love that. The mix of rocks looks great, not sure why people think it wouldn't look natural, nature is full of different rocks. Keep it up, man, awesome work as always!
Different wood yes.
Different rocks?
Hardly.
And not like this.
So is it wrong ?
No, taste is subjective.
Is it natural?
Neither.
I started aquascaping and this channel has a lot of things I can learn
I haven't had tanks for 20 years, how things have changed and you've inspired me to look at getting another 👍🏻
Could you please do a video on what you would recommend buying for a first aquarium? I would love your insight on what you think are the necessities. Love all your videos ❤
Fish Shop Matt does a great wee video on his channel about setting up your first tank
AHHH THIS IS SO PRETTY
I'm so jealous of the animals that come under your care! You make the best possible habitat for them!
You do such a wonderful job. All your scapes are so beautiful . Thank you for explaining everything so well too.
It's alway's a great feeling when you see babies in your fish tank. Well done
This is my favorite part of the Destiny 2: All Cutscenes playlist. I loved it when Zavala said "It's shrimpin' time" and built a shrimp tank in the Last City for freshwater cherry shrimp.
I love the different rocks! More natural looking to me! Fabulous…want to make one!
Great timing. I’m setting up a tank today. I’ll be using sieryu stone and I will be going for something similar to your layout… which I love. I agree with you on the adding the pebbles - they work very well.
You inspired my partner to redo out tank looks wonderful rosewood and rocks, plants ,happy fish indeed Thank you he watches your channel alot too .
Just wanted to say I recently got a 5 gallon aquarium as a gift and I've been binging your videos on doing a low tech no filter setup. Love the videos.
I think sticking with similar colors with different rock types is why it works well. It would look off if the colors were too contrasting.
Totally agree those different rocks do compliment each other, nice set up.
Very nice build and the color on that Cherry male! Do keep us posted on the offspring of those two adults👏
I have cherries in my tetra tank, and they never seem to reproduce (I assume the kuhli loaches are getting the shrimplets). Well yesterday, I pulled the whole filter apart for a clean and found a happy little family of shrimp! How they weren't getting minced up by the pump, I'll never know...
MD you sold me, started out with the spotlight setup, did well enough for a year but I just received 2 Chihiros A2’s and omg they make a world of difference. The coloration and intensity is phenomenal, I was floored when I powered them on last night
This is a scape anybody can do, it's simple but so awesome with the rocks and with the simple plants, it really shows off the shrimp. I think this is my new favorite scape of yours. I seriously want to try something like this. Like I want to go buy materials NOW, lol.
👍💖👍
Coincidentally I had a plant holding tank that was in the same condition... needless to say, I watched this video intently!!! Thank you!!!!
Dragon stones always look so amazing. Very nice tank 😊
its another 3 pots of plants tank! 😊 well done! I like its simplicity yet still impactful
I hope u do the series, and go over how to maintain the water
I love to place different types, textures and colors of rocks together. Same goes with driftwood. You can definitely overdo it if nothing looks the same, but I figure if you've either got enough parallel lines and/or maintain the golden ratio, then the scape is fine with a hardscape made from multiple materials.
Those shrimp pop so well on the rocks!
My wife is the fish person in our house. But, I love watching your video, as I am learning things as well.
I literally was looking into getting cherry shrimp yesterday. like, when I move I am upgrading my pleco tank and will have a spare tank and I thought some shrimp and maybe a snail would be really cool to put in there. good timing on this video
Hey MD! you should make a video about your daily maintenance / feeding would love to see something like that! Love the video Btw I watch everyone that you post almost instantly
You got few beautiful kanoko shrimps. Very rare
Great show ! Added 6 blue dreams to a tank back in Sept, also thought they had been eaten then in the beginning of December they all crawled out of a piece of driftwood now I have lots of blue dreams. Excellent job teaching aquascaping . I have learned quite a bit from watching your show and others on UA-cam. Yay UA-cam all the videos. Makefish keeping a lot easier than it used to be.
I love shrimp, think they are hilarious. Thank you for the info on using dragon stone, may create a shrimp only tank next.
You are so lucky due to Tasmania's biosecurity they are illegal as are snails and a lot of the plants you take for granted. You are very talented it's a lovely scape
You make rules look both great and like foot notes! Lol I love how you play by your own eyes and it always comes out magnificent. Fav fish UA-camr for sure 💙
This looks super clean and zen. Love it
Wow, I've been raising shrimp for two years, including a 200 colony of cherries, and I can't believe you didn't cycle or drip acclimate like everyone says you have to! And most experts say shrimp need a "mature" tank for several months. I disagree with that, took two months for all of my tanks, but just wow...beautiful tank! I'm getting some blue and carbon rilis in a week and I'm seriously thinking about doing a setup like this! I will run a sponge filter, because I'll have some chili rasboras in there (10g), but still.....shocked and amazed!
That is as simple as beautiful, love it.
I'm an absolute shrimp lover and this is a really good one.
Wonderful 👍 I love seeing shrimp centered tanks
I am very interested in shrimp. Thank you for good information.
"Simple! So we can see the shrimp!" Simultaneously... "a MASSIVE bunch of ....." 🤣🤩
Another beautiful scape!
MD, your the chef Ramsey of fish tanks !!
aquarium decoration and fish care really inspires me, friend... best regards from goldfish cultivators in Indonesia
love this video, the tank in the beginning overgrown looks so beautiful. The new setup looks amazing, simple but amazing. can't wait for the next video!
I'm so inspired to make myself a low tech shrimp tank! 😍
Honestly, one of your most beautiful tanks!
Brilliant love to see these beautiful tanks and fish. So amazing at how easy you make it to be.
For ur fish tanks id recomend to start growing plants from the tanks
Just wanted to say your videos are awesome!! 🙏 Thanks 🙏
Wow, you make this seem so easy every time, amazing!
Honestly the thing I’m most looking forward to is the full fish room tour I really want to see the high tech angelfish tank
As usual, a detailed explanation. Thanks. BUT…. most of your tanks are ‘front-view’ only. Could you do a tank with 3-sided viewing ? (Maybe you can demonstrate proper tweezer usage when planting plants?) 😁
Hey MD! You should do a long, low tank with dwarf orange (CPO) and blue crayfish!!! Love to see it.
Starting out with the trickiest of things - words! 🤭 they're your cryptonite, good sir!
Hi MD, just wodering, how do you move a full tank like this to its final place? Great video as usual. Regards from the Netherlands.
Ur Ranchu goldfish are cutee and likes the camera 😂
Thanks for improving my saturday.
Beautiful scape they happy in new home
Outstanding shrimp shack Sir
This tank is soooo cute I love shrimp scapes
Curious why you stopped using media bags ?
Looks awsome! I may steal your idea for my own take on it.
Lol, when I set up shrimp tank I followed the recommendations and that was 2 cm a nutrition base and 5 cm the accompanying soil on top.
Beautiful tank aside, the intro music is so much fun haha
Can you make a video showing a full room clean?? Scrapping, trimming, water changes, or just general maintenance??
Such a good video! Great music. Happy subscriber 😊
Amazing video MD Shrimp Tanks😂😂
2:44 I literally thought the tank was empty😂😂
we love shrimp!!!!!! what was the cleaning fluid @4:25? Love the use of a different stone, almost the same effect as when you use detail stones 👌........ 2 phrases MD is trying to copyright in 2023.... "beneficial bacteria" and "detail stones"😁😂
I love these lil guys ❤
What a great video, love the shrimp content
Great tank setup as usual but to get Shrimp to an ideal level you need the algae and water parameters to be constant. TDS, GH, KH etc. Shrimp need biofilm to thrive
Love your content. I wonder though, how in the worlddo you keep your maintenance schedule straight with all those tanks?
Any idea what are the measurements of the tank?
Hi MD, another great vid. When you take apart a tank, what do you do about all of the snails?
yay nd skrimp tank vid
Great video! Everything looks amazing.
Beautiful little setup!
I 😂 ❤😂🎉l😢😮😅😊
THE SPIDER AT 9:39
Have you ever thought about making your own root tabs with capsules? I'd love to hear your thoughts on doing this. It seems right up your alley.
He's already done that
You should really try Sulawesi shrimp. Like the ones from lake Tucano
"Winner winner chicken dinner" 🤣
nice but no need air bubbles or filter? Shrimp able to survive ? The light you always turn on 24 hours?
great job MD
Dragonstone is inert so I’m not sure how much mineral it will release for the shrimp. They thrive in harder water so perhaps adding some mineral blocks or a GH buffer will help?
Nice simple tank. But man. Your neocardinas are so nice. I have some in my tank but they are not nearly as red.
Amazing, do you think you can breed cherrys in 1 gallon walstad methode? Can shrimp jump out of tank?
"wiggle bums" 😂
So although you didn't use the clip on light, would you have if you didn't have the shelves with existing lights already? Or would you better recommend a different light? Thank you, great video as always
What I'd like to know how you get a fully loaded tank onto the shelf?
Was wondering if you can build a triop shrimp tank?
How do you clean the poop out with all the plants there? Do you not vacuum the substrate where the plants are?
I'm new to your channel and love what I've seen, your videos are great! I might have missed it, and I realise it ain't really your scene, but I'd love to see what you can do with artificial plants. Would be great for those of us that arent ready for live plants yet!
