The spinal cord replacement is interesting, but the idea of autograft organ replacements for hearts, livers or kidneys interests me more. This means graft recipients won't need anti-rejection drugs, and can have a fully functioning immune system. And if they can undifferentiate cells, does that include blood cell precursors, so they can treat leukemia with an autograft? The idea of grafting in pancreatic cells to produce insulin is also interesting, but how will they overcome diabetes due to insulin resistance?
